Wood Ranch in SoCal is the BBQ Bomb!!! We have been to the one in Thousand Oaks, Agoura and Moorpark. NEVER disappoints whenever we're in SoCal. It's a must in our BBQ book! Our favorites and "go to" are the Center Cut Tri-Tip, BBQ Pork Ribs, Baby Back Ribs, Cheeseburger Sliders and they have delicious Salads! I can't begin to tell you how delicious their side dinner salad is and it's loaded. There are quite a number of options to choose from for the sides. Excellent service, it does get very busy but worth the wait! Shout out to Ava who was our Thousand Oaks Server! Attentive and Beautiful young person. Parking is usually not a problem.

We had lunch today at Wood Ranch in Thousand Oaks. We were greeted by the hostess and host and asked to be seated at a hightop in the front of the restaurant. The ambiance was bright and airy and quite peaceful. We had a terrific server, Brandon. Brandon was professional, kind, patient and efficient. The passion fruit unsweetened iced tea was refreshinga and the garlic butter rolls were yummy. Brandon took our order and we both had the chopped chicken salad and added avocado. The salads were so good. My wife also ordered a bowl of tri-tip mushroom soup to go. Brandon provided stellar service and the food was scrumptious. The restaurant is clean and looks relatively new in comparison to the other Wood Ranch locations this one is hands down the best. Highly recommended

    Soooo yummy!

While visiting SoCal last week, a BBQ craving hit hard, so we headed to Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill. I brought my son along for his first visit. Always fun introducing someone to a classic. My dad was supposed to join us, but at 94 and currently rehabbing after a few falls, he was sidelined in the hospital. Don't worry, he still benefited from this story later. Friday night meant a busy house. Plenty of parking, about a 30 to 40 minute wait, totally expected. Once seated, our server Alexia, got us started with drinks and an order of the spinach artichoke dip. For the main event, we split a full slab of baby back ribs with sides of sweet potato mash and mac and cheese. Everything was fantastic, including the garlic buttered rolls, which never disappoint. Small hiccup. The appetizer arrived after our entrees. Not ideal, but it happens on a busy night. Manager Savannah handled it perfectly, removed it from the bill, and insisted we take it home. That meant leftover ribs and dip made their way to my dad the next day. He was thrilled. Even without the app, we somehow found room for dessert. Chocolate cake with ice cream and candied pecans. Absolutely worth it. This isn't my first visit, and it won't be my last. Solid food, good service, and consistency are why I keep coming back. Maybe one day I'll order something different. Then again, why mess with what's already working?

I love woodranch. Their pulled pork is my favorite. I got the pulled pork plate and my husband got brisket. Notice how much more meat my plate had. I wish woodranch still had their brussel sprouts. Our server was great and they offer a military discount.

I loved the tri tip! It was super tender and covered in this amazing bbq sauce. The mashed sweet potatoes were really good and buttery as well. My wife got the pulled pork, and there was so much of it! The meal came with complementary rolls and gave us a military discount.

This was my first time visiting this location, but I've been to the Wood Ranch restaurants in Moorpark, Camarillo, and Ventura, and this is just as good as those locations. We came by on a Sunday evening and it was a good dining experience for me and my children. Food: The bbq is legit here. Love their sauce and garlic rolls. My daughters enjoyed their kids meals and I liked my tri tip and sweet potatoes. My only complaint would be that they can't serve tri tip below medium doneness. The Carolina Pulled Pork sliders are good for sharing, but the meat is a bit dry. It gets a little better with sauce, but not the best appetizer on their menu. Service: Our waiter was friendly and polite. Our meals came out very quick and we enjoyed the quick service on a busy Sunday night. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and attached to the Oaks mall. It can be loud because it's smaller than some of the other standalone restaurants and tables are seated close to each other. Overall, I'm glad Wood Ranch is doing well in this location because the previous 2-3 restaurants did not fair well and always was overshadowed by The Cheesecake Factory (next door neighbor). We loved our meal and recommend to anyone wanted a nice and casual sit down meal near the Oaks Mall.

Excellent meal as always! I really do love this location at the T.O. Mall! From the moment we were seated to getting our bill everything was spot on! The service was great! My dirty martini was one of the best I've had! The food was great! Baby backs, grilled salmon, Asian salad and sirloin steak! All so good! I always HIGHLY recommend dining here!!

Went to a concert in a nearby venue and came here for early dinner. No reservation but we were able to be seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and answered all our questions. The food was delicious and this restaurant is very comfortable and enjoyed eating here.

While at The Thousand Oaks Mall I decided to get a bite to eat. Couldn't resist Wood Ranch. Dinner was cooked to perfection. Chicken was so tender and juicy. My downfall is Mashed Potatoes. No body makes garlic mashed potatoes like Wood Ranch Chef's. Check it out. It's conveniently located off the 101 freeway. Try it! You will love it! Service was excellent!

Brisket and mashed sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes were excellent, but the brisket was just ok....very dry and flavorless.

Came for lunch on a weekday. We were seated fast and they accommodated our special seating needs. Waitress was friendly and food service was great. The rolls were good and the mashed sweet potatoes were delicious. Avoid the brisket though, it was dry and flavorless. Even smothered in BBQ sauce it wasn't good. Clearly a bad cut of meat and poorly cooked.

We brought home so much food!! Shredded onions, French fries and half a burger. Portions are very big.
    Nancy S.

Anthony, our waiter was a pleasure. We ordered baby back ribs, which were cooked perfectly in delicious sauce. My husband had a Buckeye burger which looked amazing, wish I had taken a photo. It was a masterpiece and put together perfectly. We ordered the Famous Shredded Onions, which is a huge pile. We took half home. They could have been a bit crispier. Kind of limp. I had the Mac and cheese with my ribs and did not like it. The sauce tasted like a nacho cheese sauce, very fake. Anthony was wonderful and took the Mac and cheese back and i requested Cole slaw which was great! Loved the Cole Slaw!

    It's Bbq Time!!

Sing it if you know it: "Cause, baby, now we got bad blood" This was my first time to Wood Ranch Thousand Oaks since it arrived to the Oaks Mall and the experience was great! Fortunately, the (Love Story) between me and Wood Ranch didn't begin at the T.O. location, but at the Agoura Hills location several years back. For me, I'll always remember it was love at first bite when their bbq sauce, their tri-tip, their biscuits and their peanut coleslaw first met my lips. And If you're truly a fan of bbq... I'm talkin' about that umami connection that you probably know (All Too Well).... Of course the 10 minute version. IYKYK. ;) To start the night off right, I went with their chicken tortilla soup... Inside it's just nicer, quieter and less crazy and has lots of tables that feel nice to eat off of. SO SAD - Dog Haus decided to change their menu as a whole company nationwide and I don't know if it…read morereally satisfies us the way it used to. Dog Haus is known as an American craft-casual restaurant that's famous for their gourmet hot dogs and sausages all served on Hawaiian bread rolls. However, the new menu eliminated a good amount of their reputation! They sell smash burgers and grilled chicken, but it's called Dog Haus. The menu no longer has items like the spicy Italian, smoked apple sooo veggie sausage, chicken-mozzarella, and curried Thai Fighter wurst. Now, they highlight their normal hot dog and pork sausage - that's it. They used to sell their gourmet and different flavor combination sausages and bratwurst, but now they don't. It's turned into a restaurant like Sonic (but without the fun desserts and drinks) and Shake Shack (but at least Shake Shack has shakes.) They lost their uniqueness. Other than the company decision, which was probably the wurst business move, they also did not communicate clear enough to their employees because everyone at this location seemed to be over it. The guy at the cash register was incredibly annoyed that we didn't automatically understand that onion rings obviously aren't on the menu like before and onion strings are the new thing and what the differences are. We're sad because we really liked this restaurant and location, but it's not worth the food that's now pretty basic at most other American restaurants. Having smash burgers as a hot-dog place vs. selling hit smash burgers at somewhere like Fat Sal's where they're known for that is a bit different. Additionally, the customer service was NOT it. I asked for a water cup and was very disappointed to see that even after running the water for a few seconds, the water was still pink and not clear. When we got our food, our onion rings now onion strings were one of the saddest "shareables" side on their menu. They were limp, oily, hard to eat, and definitely not the move. We ordered entrees and weren't too impressed now that the dogs were normal, as well. Ambiance wise - they have seating inside, some seating outside, and inside have a tv where things like the FIFA World Cup play on a big screen.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

It's nice coming here on late night for a milkshake, whether it's classic or a trendy limited edition one; all are great. Their burgers are smash burgers without being in your face about it, and taste better than they look. For how they look though, I don't know why Shake Shack food always looks like it's been through a mild depression, although they're good tasting for looking a little sad. Their fries are pretty unique when it comes to fast food claiming their shapes, like Chick-fil-a with the waffle fries or In-n-Out's style, and are more like a crinkle cut. Shake Shack also sells hot dogs! I feel like this is something they don't promote and haven't promoted as much in recent years, but are slowly leaning more into it. (Please do!) The only thing that was a bit annoying was selling hot dogs, but then not being able to order much on it, like ketchup, mustard, and relish. They had a ketchup dispenser, but then only mustard plastic packets, and NO relish what-so-ever. However, I feel like with a bit of cleaning up, they could definitely boom more in that category of their menu. It's just a bit inconsistent at the current moment.

I got the veggie burger and my husband got 2 of the crispy chicken sandwiches . It was SO BAD. My veggie burger (that I've had multiple times in the past and enjoyed) was TINY.. the bun was still very cold maybe frozen? in the center, the cheeses wasn't melted . It looked like something you'd get at a hospital cafeteria ( no joke). My husband's chicken sandwiches were stringy and tough . We were both like " wth???" Not sure what happened to this place.
