Upon entering I noticed how super clean this restaurant was & so were their restrooms, highly organized & attention to details. This Wood Ranch has seating inside, booths, table and chairs, the bar area, and enclosed area. This restaurant is beautiful inside & of course the workers here too! This Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill atmosphere is Classy, Elegant, chic, Very friendly, Warm, Cozy, Inviting & Welcoming. I've have known Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill since I was younger, they always have Great Service & Great Delicious Meals here! Today Esme, Sol, Rook were both in the front. I asked them what soup they had today, since it does change ever so often. Today they have their famous Tri- Tip soup! I also asked them some other questions & and the answered them all beautifully. Next they send me across the area to have a to go order, that's when I met Ethan. I asked Ethan how much would it cost if I got 3 orders of Tri-Tip soups to go and extra famous garlic rolls! So instead of 3 orders I got 4 ha! The total was $40.54. Which I thought was a great price for their always Outstanding & Delicious Meals here! Ethan told me it would probably take about 10mins I told him it's fine, cause I saw how busy it was there. I actually didn't have to wait 10 minutes. When I got home I heated everything up and it's Flipping Fantastic Deliciousness!! Mouthwatering, Super Savory! Ethan quickly came out and handed my goods! I beyond thrilled. Got brisket sliders which were pretty good, our 2 classic burgers were both medium rare, despite one being ordered medium well. Like a large pink center, but it's fine. The bbq salad is so good though, the perfect mix of bbq meat and fresh lettuce that complements perfectly. The sliders are good but a bit boring, they have a lunch special where it's 2 sliders and a side/soup but I feel they wouldn't be as fulfilling as the other items on the menu for a similar price. Wood Ranch in SoCal is the BBQ Bomb!!! We have been to the one in Thousand Oaks, Agoura and Moorpark. NEVER disappoints whenever we're in SoCal. It's a must in our BBQ book! Our favorites and "go to" are the Center Cut Tri-Tip, BBQ Pork Ribs, Baby Back Ribs, Cheeseburger Sliders and they have delicious Salads! We had lunch today at Wood Ranch in Thousand Oaks. We were greeted by the hostess and host and asked to be seated at a hightop in the front of the restaurant. The ambiance was bright and airy and quite peaceful. We had a terrific server, Brandon. Brandon was professional, kind, patient and efficient. The passion fruit unsweetened iced tea was refreshinga and the garlic butter rolls were yummy. Brandon took our order and we both had the chopped chicken salad and added avocado. The salads were so good. My wife also ordered a bowl of tri-tip mushroom soup to go. Brandon provided stellar service and the food was scrumptious. While visiting SoCal last week, a BBQ craving hit hard, so we headed to Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill. I brought my son along for his first visit. Always fun introducing someone to a classic. My dad was supposed to join us, but at 94 and currently rehabbing after a few falls, he was sidelined in the hospital. Don't worry, he still benefited from this story later. Friday night meant a busy house. Plenty of parking, about a 30 to 40 minute wait, totally expected. Once seated, our server Alexia, got us started with drinks and an order of the spinach artichoke dip. For the main event, we split a full slab of baby back ribs with sides of sweet potato mash and mac and cheese. Everything was fantastic, including the garlic buttered rolls, which never disappoint. Small hiccup. The appetizer arrived after our entrees. Not ideal, but it happens on a busy night. Manager Savannah handled it perfectly, removed it from the bill, and insisted we take it home. That meant leftover ribs and dip made their way to my dad the next day. He was thrilled. Even without the app, we somehow found room for dessert. Chocolate cake with ice cream and candied pecans. Absolutely worth it. This isn't my first visit, and it won't be my last. Solid food, good service, and consistency are why I keep coming back. Maybe one day I'll order something different. This was my first time visiting this location, but I've been to the Wood Ranch restaurants in Moorpark, Camarillo, and Ventura, and this is just as good as those locations. We came by on a Sunday evening and it was a good dining experience for me and my children. Food: The bbq is legit here. Love their sauce and garlic rolls. My daughters enjoyed their kids meals and I liked my tri tip and sweet potatoes. My only complaint would be that they can't serve tri tip below medium doneness. The Carolina Pulled Pork sliders are good for sharing, but the meat is a bit dry. It gets a little better with sauce, but not the best appetizer on their menu. Service: Our waiter was friendly and polite. Our meals came out very quick and we enjoyed the quick service on a busy Sunday night. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and attached to the Oaks mall. It can be loud because it's smaller than some of the other standalone restaurants and tables are seated close to each other. Overall, I'm glad Wood Ranch is doing well in this location because the previous 2-3 restaurants did not fair well and always was overshadowed by The Cheesecake Factory (next door neighbor). The Wood Ranch of The Oaks Mall has a beautifully designed interior with a covered patio area as well. It is decently noisy inside and the tables are pretty close together. Service was fast and our waitress Maisie was great. My grandpa got the salmon which he said was some of the best he's ever had. My grandma got Natalie's salad with tri trip added on. She liked the taste but thought there was way too much dressing. I had the tri tip salad and the meat was perfectly cooked and tasted great. The body of the salad was meh. First time to visit this relatively new location. (Think they opened in the last 1-2 years?) the quality and ambience are consistent with all the other locations in the chain. Since it is in a large mall there is ample parking in a large lot. Just beware, some of the closer spaces are for take out or limited time parking only. There are several shaded spots. However, this mall historically can get very crowded, so parking is likely challenging during holidays and peak shopping hours on weekends and evenings. They were relatively light on a Sun for lunch about 11:00. The service was friendly and efficient as it usually is at all their locations. We got the combo bbq meal with roasted chicken and baby back ribs. Sides were salad and steamed broccoli. The chicken, ribs, and steamed broccoli had consistently good quality as at all locations. Be warned, the grilled broccoli and asparagus are a bit salty (we like it like that) but the quality varies each visit. When they don't dry it out too much it is awesome. Try dipping the veggies in the chicken broth that comes with the chicken. The tri tip, brisket, and salmon are all good st other locations and worth a try here. The summer rolls at all locations just aren't as good as a long time ago, but they are ok and are free so worth a try--just don't fill up on too many. Nice place for a higher end chain restaurant existence for lunch or dinner for a special occasion or just a treat. Definitely worth a try if you have not been here before, have been to other locations, or are in the area and are looking for a meal with consistent quality to their other locations. read more

Wood Ranch has arrived at the Oaks mall and I think this might the best looking one of the WR restaurants! Parking can be a challenge since it's literally mall parking but nonetheless it's worth it. The ambiance of the place is such a cozy and cool vibe. Lots of air plants hanging on the wall in the back and dim hanging lights. My family and I have came here to eat dinner and we've always had exceptional service. We usually get the baby back ribs and the 2-3 item BBQ combo (actually, it might just be the 2 item BBQ combo because I think they got rid of the 3 item). Please bring the 3 item BBQ combo back because we enjoy the food as leftovers to-go! I really like their garlic mashed potatoes and mac n cheese but last time I was there I also enjoyed their whole roasted corn on the cob and roasted broccoli (gestational diabetes at the time). I have been to this Wood Ranch location two times recently. Both experiences were great! I made reservations online for dinner. Both times I was seated immediately upon arriving. I have been a fan of Wood Ranch for so many years because their food is amazing. The garlic rolls to start off the meal are always a fan favorite. It takes self control to not eat only rolls for dinner. We like to order the Wood Ranch BBQ combo plate. You can choose 2 meats and 2 sides. We love this option because it is shareable and comes with a lot of food. We like the tri-tip, bbq chicken, pulled pork, baby back ribs and brisket. We also love the mac n' cheese and mashed potatoes. All of the meat is always perfectly cooked. The mac n' cheese is creamy and cheesy. We also like to order the BBQ chopped salad with either chicken or tri-tip. It is also a shareable meal. Our service at this location has been great. The servers are friendly, and attentive. I have been here a bunch of times and usually have a good experience and always like the food-- however, this time was sadly not the case. I ordered my usual bbq chopped salad and got it to go this time. It tasted pretty good... until I got near the bottom of the container and found a dead ladybug mixed in with the greens. It was extremely off-putting, especially since I had already eaten most of the salad by the time I noticed it. I understand that sometimes bugs can slip through, especially with fresh produce, but this really shook my confidence in how thoroughly the food is being washed or prepped. I am hoping I don't get sick if the produce wasn't washed properly. I'm just thankful I didn't accidentally eat the bug and I am really hoping there weren't more I didn't notice... I reached out to the restaurant directly to let them know and was at least provided a refund. Just hoping this helps improve their food handling practices going forward. I'm not surprised by the other reviews on here mentioning several people have gotten food poisoning or noticed other unsafe food handling practices. Sounds like the health department needs to pay a visit. I won't be ordering again, at least not any salads for the time being. read more
