Worst excuse for a breakfast burrito on earth

Usually like this place since I live close by. Have stopped in for breakfast several times - always good. Ordered food to go today and it was not good. 2 breakfast burritos. $30. One chorizo and 1 bacon. Took it home and couldn't believe what I saw. More tortilla than egg. For $15? Took it back and they made new ones. A little better. Still nowhere close to other breakfast burritos in town (La Esquina is 10X better). But no bacon. It was rainy with only one other table so it wasn't as if they were busy. And they did have a line cook working. Zero excuse. Can't trust their quality any more. Last time for me.

French Toast stuffed w/ Amarillo cream accompanied by fresh berries & whip cream. Your choice of bacon, ham, sausage or chorizo.

Great prices, especially considering it's the restaurant @ a upscale, we'll cared for golf course.

Food came out pretty slow but there's plenty of garlic rolls to supplement the wait. It seems that the wait for food is always the same regardless of capacity so don't come if you're starving. Got brisket sliders which were pretty good, our 2 classic burgers were both medium rare, despite one being ordered medium well. Like a large pink center, but it's fine. The bbq salad is so good though, the perfect mix of bbq meat and fresh lettuce that complements perfectly. The sliders are good but a bit boring, they have a lunch special where it's 2 sliders and a side/soup but I feel they wouldn't be as fulfilling as the other items on the menu for a similar price. Garlic rolls are so soft and buttery. I think our server's name was Jaqueline? So sorry if I'm getting this wrong, but she was managing at least 5 tables from my POV, but she checked on us regularly! Our waters were never empty and everything was great!

Our server was knowledgeable and able to guide a few of our "undecided" eaters. All came to the table quickly even though it was busy (Saturday evening on this Memorial Day weekend). An appetizer of Brussel sprouts done in onions-outstanding. Our food orders arrived promptly-chicken, beef, trout and a Mediterranean salad-all very, very good. Parents and older sibling sat separately across the aisle. Our server, Cassie, handled the boys' table expertly! I asked her if she had a bunch of younger siblings and she said "actually, yes!" It was such a relief to actually sit and enjoy my meal knowing she had them totally under control. She would also surreptitiously check with me if one of them tried to order something too expensive. I loved that! The corner seating was very thoughtfully planned for, so the boys could be loud (they really can't help it, being so excited to have a nice meal "on their own" to celebrate their friend). I appreciate that the restaurant arranged for this when I made the reservation. Delicious food and quick and friendly service.

The vegetables arrive so fresh that even the most resolute vegan might momentarily forgive the unapologetic abundance of beef, lamb, and chicken beneath them. The sauces are lush, indulgent, and impossibly smooth--crafted with a decadence that feels almost improper to describe. The fries? Crisped to perfection on the outside--twice over, it seems--while the interior dissolves into something closer to silk than potato. And then there is the staff: disarmingly kind, effortlessly charismatic, and possessed of a presence that elevates the entire experience. The towering proprietor, all 6'8" of him, greets guests with a smile that borders on euphoric--especially when he places into your hand a perfectly chilled stein of Enegren Valkyrie. The beer selection is not merely good; it is curated with intent and reverence. Each pour feels like a quiet passage to the old country--a place you may not want to leave once you arrive. In short, their meats linger in the mind long after the meal ends. We are fortunate, indeed, that two gentlemen from Deutschland chose to share their craft here. PROST!

The staff also wears gloves when handling food in the kitchen. There are no hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & "outdoor" (still inside mall) seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was in this establishment months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal (mall policy). Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive since it is located inside a super fancy smancy mall. Try to park near Macy's for quick access. Food and Drinks: I ordered a classic mojito, egg roll sampler, shrimp scampi, key lime cheesecake, and mango key lime cheesecake. My friend and I received complimentary bread for the table. I'm not a fan of "Brown Bread." It is cocoa powdered, honey, and molasses infused wheat bread with oats on top. I'm not a fan of sweet breads. It's just weird to me. My mojito had some sweetness, tart lime flavors, and herbal minty flavors. 10/10. It's my go to refreshing alcoholic beverage. The egg roll sampler consisted of 4 egg rolls, which includes the avocado, Tex Mex, cheeseburger spring rolls, and chicken taquitos. I enjoyed being able to try the restaurant's signature rolls and taquitos in a single plate. Seriously, this dish offers a delightful fusion of flavors. It's perfect for sharing. For all of the egg rolls, I enjoyed how crunchy they were. I have included my favorite item (#1) to my least favorite item (#4) below. Avocado Egg Rolls: Stuffed with avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro, served with a tangy dipping sauce. #3 Tex Mex Egg Rolls: Filled with spicy chicken, corn, black beans, peppers, onions, and melted cheese. #2 Cheeseburger Spring Rolls: Loaded with ground beef, melted cheese, and grilled onions. #1 Chicken Taquitos: Rolled tortillas stuffed with chicken and spices. #4 For my entrée, I had ordered a shrimp scampi. It features lightly crisped, Parmesan-coated shrimp served with angel hair pasta in a rich, garlicky white wine cream sauce with fresh basil and diced tomatoes. The massive shrimps are butterflied, lightly battered in a Parmesan-flour mixture, and pan-seared until crisp. The sauce consisted of a decadent mix of whole garlic cloves, shallots, white wine, heavy cream, and chicken broth. All of the above was served over a bed of delicate angel hair pasta and finished with fresh basil and diced tomatoes. Perfectly well seasoned, buttery, and garlicy dish. 10/10 would highly recommend. The key lime cheesecake combined the refreshing flavor of key lime pie and the irresistible creaminess of classic cheesecake into two mouthwatering desserts in one. This is beyond delicious! It's perfectly tart, deliciously sweet, lightly tangy, unbelievably rich and creamy, and amazingly luscious. It's brimming with fresh lime flavor, finished with a buttery graham cracker crust, and such a show-stopping dessert! The whipped cream added a nice and airy touch to the cheesecake. 10/10 Mango key lime cheesecake has a vanilla coconut macaroon crust, layers of key lime and mango cheesecake and a mango cream and gelatin topping. I enjoyed the perfect balance of sweet mango and tart, citrusy lime. I found it very refreshing. I'm a sucker for the vanilla coconut macaroon crust here. It added a nice crunch to my dessert. I'm all about the crunch. The whipped cream added a nice and airy touch to the cheesecake. I can see why this is a frequently sought after dessert. 10/10 Staff: Robert was our extremely attentive, friendly, caring, considerate, and helpful server. I loved that he openly shared about his favorites from this restaurant and gave us tips on how to make certain dishes taste better. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Our server took our orders and checked in on us in a timely manner until we ordered our main courses. I ordered the Chicken Bellagio. I was so excited to try it until the wait started to become a bit drastic. The guests who arrived after got their meals before us, and we ordered our food before our appetizer arrived. We were offered more bread, but we didn't dine there to get full off of that. When the meals finally arrived, I tried the noodles first, followed by the chicken, then the prosciutto and arugula. I noticed something shiny in my dish, so when I pulled it out, it ended up being a piece of plastic! I put it on my appetizer plate and shrugged it off. Then when I took a bite of the prosciutto, I felt something off-texture. What I pulled out of my mouth was ANOTHER piece of plastic! I kept chewing and something felt even more off... paper? I inspected the prosciutto and saw shiny parts, so when I extracted it, there ended up being 2 pieces of parchment/deli paper! I was in disbelief, but remained positive. I politely informed a server who came to check on her tables and she immediately asked me if I wanted a different dish and a complimentary soup or salad. I admire her ability to resolve my issue! Our server also came to check on us and confirm my new order. 2 gentlemen, who I assume are managers, also came to check up on us. I was told my first meal order would be comped. One offered a cheesecake on the house, but I refused because I already felt bad/embarrassed that my issue brought a lot of attention. These exchanges were a nice touch, but ultimately, it doesn't excuse the fact that the person eating with me already finished his food while I was still waiting for mine. That dining experience alone has already been tarnished. Regardless of these incidents, I still wanted to leave a tip. We paid with a gift card, but I had a feeling that the check would be within the balance... when receiving the check back, there was still an impending balance of around $27. A credit card was given to cover it. When deciding on how much to give, we took a look at the itemized receipt and the item that was supposed to be comped was included in the bill at full price! We had to bring it up to the server before leaving. The balance on the gift card, which wasn't much, ended up being the tip. At this point, nothing can change my mind about wanting to give this place a second chance. I am a hospitality worker myself, and I've been in situations like this where I was the server, but what separates me from this establishment is that I always keep the smallest details in mind when a guest is already having a terrible experience, to avoid any further escalation. I consider them lucky that this happened to me and not to someone else who may not be as forgiving.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.
