I am a believer in Pedego, their product, and their service. I bought my bike a year and a half ago and they are like my electric bike family. They care that I am happy with my bike, they answer alllll my questions and what they promised as an owner (customer service) they follow through with. Buying local can sometimes means paying a bit more and it is worth what you get. I studied several bikes, warrantees, services and this is the clear winner. The 5 year warrantee surpasses most by 4 years. Pedego comes to get my bike at my house when I can't bike it into the shop and they promptly return it when fixed or serviced. I initially had a small led screen issue and they drove to my house, fixed it in a minute and they were on their way. Great experience! Bikes we're comfortable to ride - easy to figure out the controls. We rode round trip from the shop to Lucky Peak easily in 3 hours. This is the second year in a row we've rented e-bikes here when moving my son into college from out of state. And both times we've had a great experience! Pedego's are so easy to operate and the staff gives you a good tutorial on how to ride them if it's your first time. It's right near the river greenbelt which is a beautiful ride! We booked a 4 hour rental but showed up a little late, but they were so kind to extend our time to give us our 4 full hours since they weren't completely booked that day. Super duper nice family business!! Very nice bicycle rental store close to the Boise green belt with peddle and electric bikes. My husband and I rented a tandem electric bike - which they have you test drive before you just take off and hurt yourself. Which would be me! There are a few bike rental shops in town but the Pedego brand is a very solid built electric bike. We've rented from other Pedego shops and always find them to be a great way to see the local sights. Not that it even needs to be but the shop is decorated really cute. They ensured our guest was fitted to the correct size bike. The tutorial and riding time in the parking lot gave her confidence (she had not been on a regular bike for 25yrs much less an ebike). I showed up when they opened. Mike was friendly and very helpful. It was overcast, but I started out on my ride anyway. An hour later I was caught in a downpour so I returned the bike at no charge. 3 hours later the sun was out an I returned and resumed my ride. I found a wonderful craft market in a beautiful shaded park, got lunch and gifts, chatted with the locals and then rode to White Dog Brewing Company, where the bar has a built in dry ice strip to keep your beer cold. The paved bike trail follows a river bordered by trees on either side, keeping you cool while you bike. There are multiple "exits" along the way that take you into town. Family of four rented a tandem for my husband and 10 year old and two regular bikes for me and my 12 year old. The green belt has gorgeous views of the water and a nice easy path. We loved this ride! Staff was very helpful. My 12 year old was a bit nervous on her bike. There are many "serious" riders on the hike paths as well so she would often get nervous as they passed or we had to pass pedestrians. Still had a blast but if we had sitters available, my husband and I would have gone much faster without the kids and enjoyed this bike ride even more! lol. A beautiful day was had exploring Boise by bike! The online reservation process was simple and quick. Ryan got us set up with the perfect bikes for our needs and gave us great instruction on how to use the e-bike. They did a great job of explaining the e-bike operation, gave us a set of locks and we were off to explore the Boise green belt trail system. Thanks to Boise Pedego Cyclery we explored 27 miles of trail of the green belt, from Lucky Peak park to caffe Luciano. What a great way to see Boise! Nick explained how to operate the electric bikes and made sure they were adjusted well for our bodies. The bikes have an incredible range, impressive power, and were incredibly fun. The proximity of the shop to the bike path along the river was super easy and made for a great adventure. I had wondered if 2 hours of riding would be more than we needed, but we easily could have gone all day. My husband is an advanced rider so I was concerned he would become bored, but he had a blast. I am just an average rider and could not stop grinning from all the fun. The bikes we chose were really comfortable. (There are several rental options.) I have a Pedego Stretch that I am using on my journey across America for veterans with PTSD and veterans suicide awareness. I am currently in Boise and on the 9,000+ mile bike ride and have walked over 4,600 miles. The staff here is top notch and Nicole, the owner, is just wonderful. She had some good pointers and suggestions and is doing a go-over on my bike before heading out of town. She was also helpful in some other gear and making some great contacts. They really do put people first and want you to have fun. This is def the best bicycle I have ever had and with my gear I have I'm putting this bike at around 250 lbs. We rode 15 miles in two hours along the Greenbelt, and had a blast! Only negative is that they're a little on the pricy side to rent, but once we were zipping along we found the experience to be well worth it -- you can cover so much more ground than on a regular bike, and they also include locks and helmets in the rental price.
