Not knowing what to expect, we have been looking for an electric bike for our son who has a leg condition. Yeah! I was visiting from out of town and I stumbled upon Pedego Electric Bikes. I had never ride one previously and was eager to give it a shot. I assumed that an electric bike was only meant to assist you but these bad boys are basically electric scooters that can go upwards of 20 MPH!!! I rented for an hour which was enough time to go about 7-8 miles up the bike path that is conveniently located right next to the shop. I'd rent from these guys any day and maybe one day take the jump to actually purchasing one myself... read more

I rented a few electric bikes this weekend and we had a great experience! Customer service was excellent. I definitely wanted my own bike at the end but didn't feel like throwing down $2k. Here's what you need to know - - Rental was $25 for 1 hour - I can't say if a reservation is always required, but I made one because better safe than sorry - They have helmets available for you - You can choose to peddle or not peddle! The motor gives you that extra boost - You don't need any experience other than knowing how to ride a bike - They go up to 20mph Oh, and there's a delicious little bakery next door! read more

This place is excellent!! We used to rent from Carmel Cyclery to ride the Monon but they ditched their rental business last year and apparently have no plans to restart that either (at least, as of this writing). We tried using the Carmel Bike Share for those bikes lining main st but had problems with the app and scanning or manually entering the bike code to unlock. Finally, we walked 2 streets south to get to Pedego and they had an excellent fleet and were able to easily accommodate myself, my wife and our daughter. Our daughter is only 8 but tall for her age and is able to handle their smallest bike; technically, they can't rent an eBike to anyone under 15yo I believe so I suggested they remove the battery and the bike functions fine without it. You really don't need the pedal assist on the flats anyway and it worked out fine for all. The guys were great and highly recommend. read more

If you are in the area renting bikes from here is an absolute necessity! We are a family of six who came to the area for vacation. The customer service was incredible. Keith and Gannon were so kind and made the entire experience preparing to bike really fun. The bikes were in perfect condition and really attractive. We managed to mess up one of the bikes a bit during our ride due to a minor fall and Keith and Flo went out of their way to come help us get the bike back to the store for repairs. Wow, this place is a gem. I was interested in getting myself an ebike and found this nice place in Carmel. I paid them a visit and was greeted by Marco and Josh. I explained to Marco my ebike needs and he answered all my questions thoroughly. He offered me to test ride a Pedego Boomerang. I'm very surprised of this amazing ride, very comfortable and has a lot of power. I had my wife and kids with me at that time, so Marco offered us to test ride the Pedego stretch, where I put the kids in the back and I do all the cycling. Well, not just me, but the electric motor too. All I can say is that I had an amazing experience with Marco and Josh, I remember after test riding the Pedego Latch, which has a front motor, I told Josh that this needs to be called an AWD bike. You pedal the rear wheel and the motor takes care of the front one. I did sense that the bikes are very well made. I came into the store expecting myself to pick up a fat tire bike "4" width tire" but I test drove it too and I fell in love with the Boomerang instead, that has a 2" tire. The Pedego Boomerang seemed more comfortable and stable. I let Josh know that I prefer the Boomerang over the fat tire, and he explained that having a fat tire bike is similar to driving a Jeep Wrangler, which is an informative comment since the fat tire ones would perform better in off roads and harsher terrains. By the way, They only carry Pedego bikes and I found out that their bikes come with two years warranty. They also service bikes and they offer rentals on ebikes!! They are next to the Monon Trail. My husband and I were in the process of researching electric bikes when we discovered Pedego Carmel. We decided to stop in at the end of a camping trip to see what they were about and to do some comparing with others we had researched and ridden. We had a great experience while interacting with Josh and his assistant. They answered all of our questions and took us out to test drive the bikes we were interested in. At no time was there pressure to make a purchase. The entire experience was enjoyable and fun! We felt like we had made new friends when we left. A story about the Pedego family. After ankle and knee replacement I was sold on the ebikes. My research narrowed it down to one, the Pedego Classic Interceptor. Living in Pennsylvania I wandered over to Pedego Sourland bikes in NJ to look at a demo they had for sale. Unfortunately neon orange was too bright for me so I ordered a new one from them. Again a disappointment when I found out that they discontinued the Sandstone color that I wanted. Sourland searched the family and came up empty. I lucked out with a call to Pedego La Quinta. Dave reached out to Josh at the Pedego Carmel store and he had one in stock. Josh even went the extra mile in robbing the mag wheels and brown balloon tire package from another bike, added the large capacity battery and shipped me the bike all for less than the retail price. My mom was in the market for an electric bike so we headed to the Indianapolis area from Fort Wayne. Our first stop was the Pedego shop where we met Marco and Irving. We ended up spending a lot of time there learning about the bikes and taking a test ride on the Monon trail which is right outside their door. Marco got us some sweatshirts to wear on our ride since it was about 36°! He also gave us coffee while we shopped around and they both answered all of our questions. The customer service here is truly exceptional! The bikes themselves were really great and fun to ride. Even though they have just the one brand, they really have a lot of different options. I'm sure it would be great to rent from them and jump right on the trail, but if you're looking to buy, don't leave this shop off your list!
