Been to this place twice with bike repair needs and they do a fantastic job. The second time I went I needed a rear bike bolt and they answered some questions and gave it to me free of charge. I won't go to an another place as long I'm in the fishers area. read more

When I went to Motion, I was looking to do some repairs on an old road bike. Honestly, I was a little nervous, because I think sometimes these kinds of places can be kind of snooty, and make you feel dumb for not knowing what you are talking about. That was not the case at all with my experience here. Jacob was the guy who helped me, and he was super nice, had great recommendations, and ultimately helped get my bike back up and road ready. Buy local! You pay for what you get. If you're looking for a bike that will last a lifetime the this is the shop for you. The shop has serious answers for serious bikers. But it also has bikes and help for people looking to cruise up and down the Monon. Just be honest about what you're looking for and they'll help you out. I love my bike, she's fancy and probably the nicest thing I own. The guys at Motion treat her like she's special, which I appreciate. The guys know what races I'm doing and love to hear updates (or they at least tolerate me when I share!) and they're always happy to get my bike in tip top shape. I was at a black tie event for charity and ran into the owner, Chris. He said hi and asked how SassyRoo was (my bike) and that sealed the deal. He was my mechanic for life. I've since had Oliver, Jordan and others work on my bike. They all take good care of her. There's expensive accessories in there because cycling is an expensive sport, as is triathlon. It's not a pretentious store, it's a store that stocks quality products. Can't find what you want? Ask and they'll order it for you. Bored and driving by? Stop in and chat from the comfy leather couches. You might even catch an Indiana Jones flick on tv. Quote Raiders of the Lost Arc and you'll be a favorite customer in no time. Good guys that know what they're doing and they won't oversell you on stuff you don't need. They also provide SAG support for a ton of charity rides and are out riding themselves. My first experience with them wasn't the best but decided to give them a second chance. Bad choice. Left 2 bikes for repairs. They told me it shouldn't take as long as last time (2 weeks). I called after 1 week. They hadn't even started and said they would start that day. He stated it shouldn't take long at all. I waited for a call. Another week went by. Still no call. I showed up to the store as I did the previous incident. They told me they were ready and they would bring out the bikes and receipt. When they brought the bikes out nothing had been done except lifting the handle bars on one. He told me he had done that and it only took 3 min. Nothing else was done to the bikes and they had no explanation as to why. One of the bikes seemed as to be worse than when dropped off. The brakes or brake system was supposed to be fixed depending on how bad it was and now not only are one of the brakes still rubbing but the one brake that did work is sticking which it wasn't doing before. Horrible customer service. Horrible experience. I never write reviews but this was ridiculous. Will not get my service again. Motion Cycle is a very nice locally owned bicycle shop. I was referred to this shop by my boss who knows (and rides with) the owner. I have purchased two bikes from here (a Specialized Hardrock and a Townie 7D). The color of the Specialized I wanted wasn't in stock, but they promptly ordered and assembled within a week. I was able to test ride in the parking lot out front and confirm my purchase was what I wanted. More recently I purchased some fenders for the Townie but didn't have the time (or skill) to install effectively, so I brought the bike back and they installed for $10 and were complete in a day. The shop is extremely nice, clean, and upscale. There is a huge selection of Specialized and Townie bikes from entry level to very high end along with a nice selection of kids bikes. They also have a wide selection of accessories. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable (and serious) about their craft. If you require your ego stroked as part of your purchase then you're probably better off going to BGI. Or maybe a day spa. These guys are serious riders and you get that feeling when you walk into the place. We would definitely purchase from here again and rely on them for future repairs and maintenance. read more

I once heard that the only difference between children and adults is the price of their toys. If you are looking for an expensive (albeit uninspiring) bike that you are assured is top of the line (amongst their three or four lines they carry) please feel free to stop on by. They will be happy to inculcate you into the suburban cyclist consumer sub culture where buying a pair of half gloves for 35 dollars and 200 for some shorts is normal thing. I have always found the floor staff very helpful and honest about parts and labor pricing. They have gone out of their way to help me fix my bikes I acquired at local good wills. However, I have grown to dislike a particular owner or manager. He sulks around in the back with a look of disdain for the unwashed masses such as myself who don't look the part of suburban competitive cyclist. Needless to say I have never found him particular helpful or conducive to an inviting bike shop atmosphere. This was especially true after I overheard him talking bad about so called hipsters: a true cycling purist! Does it beat amazon on the pricing: not close. Will I grin and bear the manager for service: yes. Can you go to Carmel and have access to lines union made in the unites States and should you: yes. read more

Very nice neighborhood cycling and accessories shop that is just about a mile from my place. I have been here a couple of times, once to get my bike repaired for a flat tire in which the tire had burst open and once to buy a bike rack. Both times i have received good service from the person behind the counter. When i got my bike repaired they did it promptly and for a good price and was very happy with their service. I returned to purchase the bike rack and was once again happy with the patience and service i got for the options that were available and it was good to know why i would be paying extra for the various options. I only ask them to mark down their accessories a little bit and slightly lower than MSRP so that they can be price competitive with Dick's and amazon for the same stuff. either way i did end up buying from them because i wanted to buy local. However, if they have price differences of almost 10-15% with other retail stores their sales will suffer in that aspect. All that said i will once again stop by here first before checking out other places for my future bike purchases and repairs. read more

Motion Cycling is an awesome bike shop. I tried to shop for a mountain bike at two other shops and they all wanted to up-sell me into a bike that was not what I was looking for. Motion Cycling not only helped me figure out what bike I wanted but ordered it for me (instead of talking me into take one of the bikes in stock) and even let me do layaway (the Bikeline wouldn't even do that). It is worth a trip to Motion Cycling. They carry (among other brands) Specialized. read more

They understand what a true LBS is. Have gone in to get miscellaneous items to repair my son's mountain bike. They have been helpful every time. I've brought my road bike in (not a brand they carry) and they helped me on the spot (minor cable stretch and rear derailleur tune). Had a rear wheel rebuild which didn't turn out so well. Oliver gave me a loner while they rebuilt it. This allowed me no to miss the Ride Across INdiana (R.A.I.N 2015). Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Kudos! read more

Don't go in at the end of the day! We came in about 20 mins before closing. Apparently this was a major inconvenience. The staff seemed completely unimpressed that someone would have the nerve to come in that late. (Sorry we didn't take a vacation day to bike shop and came in after work hours!) They had just the bikes we were interested in, but didn't even get a chance to test them out because the staff was so off-putting. We ended up purchasing three bikes at a different, more welcoming store. We have two more to purchase. We won't be heading back to this store or recommending to friends. read more

I had taken my wife's bicycle to Carmel Cyclery several times to have a flat tire fixed, but it was always flat again by the time I returned home, so we had to try somewhere else. I found Motion Cycling in Fishers and they fixed it while we waited and this time it has remained fixed. read more
