I had honestly been hesitant to try another local Mexican restaurant because so many of them don't feel very authentic. But my sister and I decided to give Pedro's a try, and it was a really pleasant surprise. I was also impressed by how bright and welcoming the restaurant felt, which was a nice change from many local Mexican restaurants that tend to feel dark inside. It was a little cold inside the restaurant, but the sweet young girl who waited on us, Delanie, kindly offered to move us out to the patio, and it was so nice and pleasant out there. The food had great flavor and tasted fresh, not like it had been reheated in a microwave. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the experience even better. Always a good time. My boyfriend and I love the charro beans & we have to get a bowl almost every time we come here. The frozen margaritas are our go-to. We've been to 3 different Pedro's locations, but the Flowood location is always good to us. 10/10 would recommend a meal or even just a nice margarita here. read more

Very nice remodel of the previous restaurant. the opening up of bar area really improved the atmosphere. Same management and staff of the previous named restaurant, different investors. The Cucumber Margaritas were excellent. same staff - investors sold out to Pedro's different new menu, i can't say it is better. but the salsa chips are and the meat cheese dip were okay. great presentation and bubbling hot. beef steak fajitas meat was sliced real steak and cooked properly (like tex mex fajitas). but no real taste or flavor. Same with the street tacos. the presentation was very nice. meat wasn't boiled but cooked medium with some pink. Steak quesadilla was okay. tres leche cake was really good for my taste. read more

Pretty good! Great ambiance and good food, but the prices are high considering we live in Mississippi. It was $17 for a plate of 3 el pastor street tacos, rice and beans. We assumed it would be a big enough plate to make that price acceptable, but the tacos weren't huge and the sides of rice and beans were tiny. We even asked the waitress because the small cup of pinto beans was only about 1/4 full but she said that was pretty normal and would ask the kitchen but then didn't mention it again. It's really strange to be so stingy with those considering that we were obviously bothered by it AND it's the cheapest part of the dish. We also got the chicken burrito fajitas. It was also about $17 or 18 and didn't come with a side, but it was large and had a lot of toppings on the side (sour cream, salsa, and some guac) which I really liked. Overall we enjoyed both entrees and they came out pretty quickly, but would expect either the prices to be lower for the lower than average amount of food, or the serving sizes to be larger. read more

The food was good and so was the service , and we were there mid afternoon and there were only two tables. My issue was that they blared the music , which was some kinda Latin rap. It was so loud, the base was pounding. I'm guessing the managers were not there because the sound was so awful. Please regulate the volume of the music and have a more neutral style of music. read more

This is only the second time I have ordered from a Pedro's. This is the second and LAST time I will ever eat here again. Both times they did not give me all of the food I ordered. This place is way overpriced for Mexican food to not be giving me everything I paid for. They tied the plastic bag so tight I couldn't even open it to look inside and check! Terrible. Place looks great super nice vibe but pricey Tex mex! Drink I ordered was tasty, my husbands meal was just ok pretty bland but the seafood enchiladas I had were super yummy. Tasted more like seafood cream sauce that would be amazing on pasta but it was good nonetheless. The chorizo queso dip was good as well. read more

My little family tried Pedro's for lunch today, and we were very pleased with our experience. We were immediately seated and our drink orders taken. The service was excellent. I had the chilaquiles rojos which were flavorful and the presentation was beautiful. I was so hungry that I did not stop to take photos. My wife had the shrimp quesadillas and my son had a chorizo burrito. For drinks I just had a lemonade (designated driver) and my wife had a champagne margarita and my son had the mango daiquiri. The young man also had a churro-based dessert. All in all, our lunch was fantastic and I can heartily recommend Pedro's in Dogwood. read more

I had such a great experience here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The tacos were packed with seasoning, the salsa had the perfect kick, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive without hovering, which made the atmosphere really comfortable. I really loved my server Jamaria, she was well represented, amazing and very attentive. Too expensive for what you're getting!! Ordered a happy plate and got 3 strips of meat on it with rice and it was $16! We ordered a fajita taco salad expecting it to be large since it was $19. It was extremely small and was a rip off. Atmosphere is very cool and service is great but the food is way too expensive and not excellent enough to be that expensive. We've now eaten at the newly remodeled place about 4 times. The decor and atmosphere is fantastic, gorgeous. The noise level is too high but maybe they will work on that. The food has been some good, some not so good. I liked their burrito supreme. Their white queso dip/sauce is excellent, best in the area, IMHO. Chips have always been crisp and good. Was so happy to see the other day that they had changed out their highback heavy chairs for some regular sized ones. read more

Tried this place with my family and I must say I wasn't impressed at all. First, I had to ask for chips and salsa instead of it being brought promptly to my table upon arrival. I didn't like that at all. The restaurant aesthetics was very nice for a Mexican spot and that was the only thing great about this place. I ordered a chicken happy place that didn't include bell peppers nor onions and it came with grilled chicken that didn't have a bit of seasoning and plain Mexican rice. I expected some veggie with my happy plate compared to other Mexican restaurants but that didn't happen. I also wanted the dinner serving and received what looked like a lunch serving instead. This place should have spent the money on getting quality food/seasoning for the food instead of all the upgrades to the lighting and seating. The atmosphere doesn't compare to the food quality/quantity at all. I won't waste my time returning. read more

Well coming from the Midwest, the charges were like no other. They charged me 1$ for each salsa I requested which might I add was in the mini plastic containers for my tacos. So 4$ in total for that. They charged me and additional dollar for grilled onions, on top of that the meat had a taste of almost a spoil to it by the time I made it to my hotel room ten minutes later. So all in all I wouldn't recommend it nor will I EVER go back again. 63$ for a quesadilla 3 tacos and two margaritas. The only plus side of it was the ambiance of the place. Tried Pedro in Flowood (Dogwood) ... Talk about a Robert Irvine / Gordon Ramsey restaurant makeover baby this is it .. Place looks amazing. Light and airy . The bar area is beautiful with the under lighting. The service was fast and efficient.Ordered the fajita salad with steak the steak was seasoned just right .. everything was amazing including the mango margarita 10 out of 10 I will recommend. read more

while in town visiting my parents, we decided to go out late and get something to eat. with about 54 mins left to be open, the host seated my family and I and a server came over and took our order. We looked over the menu, ordered and got our food in about 10-15 min. Our server was very attentive, offered refills, asked how was our food and cleared the table as needed. Awful & horrible plating. The menu described it as a corn tortilla wrapped in shrimp, crawfish, and spinach w a creamy chipotle sauce. It came out drenched in cream sauce w no signs of chipotle, spinach, or seafood. It was so drenched in sauce that I could not even tell what was even rolled into the "flour" tortillas. There was like 3 pieces of maybe large shrimp & 5 pieces of overcooked crawfish in the heavy sauce & 5 leaves of spinach. I had to order a side of lettuce , guacamole and pico to compensate for the lack of color and vegetables which I ended up eating instead as a salad. I ordered an Organic Margarita which was quite sour and needed more tequila. The guacamole was good. My husband ordered to carne asada burrito and he said it was just ok. The new decor is nice and white. The server was nice but our language barrier made it difficult to order and answer my questions. I will not be returning. read more
