We went into Pedro's yesterday after lunch rush! We had the BEST SERVICE I've ever received. She was attentive, kind and super efficient. The food was really good too. Pedro's unfortunate for la hacienda is the place to eat if you have an empty tank and need to fill it food is absolutely great portion sizes dwarf other similar Mexican restaurants in the area if you want good tacos ! So, I went to Pedro's for lunch on Cinco de Mayo. The prices were outrageous and very limited choices, which were higher priced than usual. All non-alcoholic beverages were $4, except water. There was nothing on the menu less than $10, except for the kids meal. I ordered unsweetened tea, chicken chimichanga and a small bowl of queso and my bill was $29 without the tip. We arrived about 7 pm on a Sunday, party of 4 and were quickly seated. That's the best part of the review. Drinks were ordered but then....nothing. A second person asked for our drink order......nothing......then returned to tell us they did not have the beer we ordered and could not really articulate what beers they did have. Chips and salsa arrived. No napkins, no silverware. after quite a wait food was delivered. No napkins or silverware.... Meals were marginal at best. 2 Mexican hamburgers (without the jalapeño which we had to request) were overdone and unappetizing. 3 chicken tacos were flavorless and hard to eat as they were overstuffed w lettuce and cheese. Service was terrible! The food was nasty and was not prepared the way we ordered. We had to ask 4 times for chips and salsa before they gave us old greasy chips that weren't fresh. We will never return to this location. We frequent another location and never have an issue so we were disappointed in this location. If I could give less than 1 star I would. The restaurant was quite busy but it didn't slow down our server- she was on the ball. The fajitas were juicy and tender. Had lunch there with a friend. The server said that it was her second day but after having her wait on us it felt like she had been there since they opened. Our drinks stayed full and she was making enjoyable small talk with us without being intrusive. A very friendly and attentive waitress. The food was delicious as it always is. Their salsa is the best around and the atmosphere is awesome. The tables are fairly well spread out so you are never on top of another group. I just had the worst experience at Pedro's. I honestly do not know how this place is still in business. You would think this would be the place to go out with a large group to celebrate an event due to the size of the restaurant. Think again. The karaoke lady left because our table was ''too loud''. When my friends and I ordered at the bar, our waitress rolled her eyes and told us it was too early to drink. There was no bartender on the clock, and the waitress was not trained to make most of the drinks on the menu. It's a Tequila Bar..... what?! Despite what others are saying here, my experience at Pedros was five stars. From the moment I entered I love the bright interior and positive vibe. I could tell the staff was attentive and I was seated in a lovely spot by a window and away from other guests ina nice clean booth. The chips and salsa have a wonderfully unique flavor. The shrimp quesadilla lunch is an amazing value wirh at least 9-10 huge shrimp! Plus guacamole this was a lunch dream come true. I'll be back! read more

My food came ice cold and it did not come with the other things that were supposed to come with the meal and Pedro's would not make it right!! We like Pedro's and are glad that there's another option for Tex-Mex in Opelousas. The staff was nice and the food was pretty good except for the tortilla soup, but I'll get back to that in a second. We went on a Sunday night, and the food came out super fast. We ordered tortilla soup, queso and fajitas. The food came out so fast it was like they had double-timed the food to get it out to us. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but we weren't finished eating our appetizers before they shoved the main course onto the table. The food was good for the most part. The fajitas were slightly burned, but I like to eat them that way. The tortilla soup was really thick, and it didn't really taste like soup. It was more like a thick chili. We had the appetizer sampler and the mesquite grill dinner for two and both dishes exceeded the standards of other Mexican restaurants we've been to. Service was very friendly and attentive, and the food arrived quickly. We will certainly be back here, this place is probably worth a special trip. Do not do it! The name drew us in and la haciendas parking lot was full...the fact this parking lot was so empty should have confirmed yelp but we did it anyway. Sat at the bar and there was no bartender (which should have also told us something) then a waitress finally came over. Drinks were just ok but they were ok. The shrimp tacos were clearly frozen shrimp and my husband ordered beer quesadillas and they brought ground beef. No one eats ground beer quesadillas and so greasy no one would eat theirs. They charged me $2 for tortillas I didn't order and when I disputed it after they charged my credit card they tried to get me to change my mind by telling me they would have the refund and recharge and the refund side would take 5 to 7 days. Ok! When I showed I was ok with that the Manger said he would just give me cash. Again, do not do. Btw the chips were not good and the salsa sweet with no seasoning. Horrible. This is for the location in conroe texas. when i sat at the bar the bartender, she asks, " do you know what you want". I thought a hello, welcome would have been a better greeting. Her skills as a bartender need to be a bit sharper. when i ask about another margarita, i find out everything is pre made , with the exception of a few of there drinks. This place would be the perfect restaurant if you're getting over covid-19 and still have your loss of taste and smell. The salsa tasted like marinara sauce and the queso was water. The lovely table sitting closest to Frontage Road got a special treat as their waitress kept shoving her hand down her pants. Be careful going to the one in Opelousas La. We are from out of town and was at a nearby dealership buying a car, we stopped in there for some supper before our long drive back to Texas, our meal consisted of Fajitas for one $16,extra flour tortillas $1.75,extra sour cream,sweet tea $2.25,Chicken Flautas $10.25 and a water. Our total bill with the tip I put on the ticket was around $44.46. When it cleared my account it went thru for $84.46. I contacted Pedro's tacos for five days in a row to get this resolved and was given nothing but the run around. So the waitress got away with changing the tip amount I left making it more for her. They don't deserve the star that I gave but it was the only way to leave a review. read more
