Great place to go for a Cajun Sunday breakfast and buffet. Buffet like they used to be. High quality treats allowing you to taste but not have to commit. From boudin to cracklings to pork stew, to stuffed pork to bacon to cinnamon rolls to the more traditional eggs, this buffet had it all and packed it with flavor. Cocktails are spectacular as well. Roll it all out on a deck overlooking the bayou and you can't go wrong.

You will need to make reservation with your CC. Also we don't know this but 5:00 pm and after reservation you will get full menu plus specials. Another time no the specials. The atmosphere was nice. Our waiter Devin was very nice and perfect on attending to us. The food was very good. I had the stuffed seafood bell pepper and my husband had the fried red fish sandwich. Desert was Blueberry muffin bread pudding. Wow! So good.

We made a reservation which ended up being unnecessary as it was a quiet night. We were seated on the upper deck with a scenic view of Bayou Fuselier flowing lazily by. Would definitely recommend asking for an outside table if weather permits because the ambience is magical. Despite the relative lack of other diners, it took a while to be seated and longer to be brought water and menus which is the only reason for the missing star. But our server was nice, helpful, and attentive once he arrived. My mom has food allergies so she's kind of a pain for any restaurant and he was a good sport about it and was able to customize her salad. I orders three things to try since I couldn't decide: cajun fried mushrooms as an app, Louisiana strawberry salad, and a cup of crab and corn bisque. Everything was delicious with the mushrooms being a favorite. I would go back just for those! Amazing spices and truffle dipping sauce.... heck yes. The salad was refreshing and tasty with a bourbon vinaigrette and plenty of crunchy pecans. Only one note: on the menu the pecans were described as candied which would have been fantastic, but they were just regular pecans. A super minor gripe though. The bisque was also delicious and not fishy at all. Just savory and creamy. Would have liked a bit more of the toasted bread to go with it. Overall, a very pleasant meal in a beautiful setting, and prices were surpisingly reasonable. Would eat there again.

    French Martini!

Stop in for lunch and it was great! Staff is always welcoming and super sweet! I ordered the redfish club sandwich. It was soooo good! Redfish was fried to perfection and had the perfect crunch. I also ordered a bees knees, and it was delicious as usual!

Made a reservation for the Mardi Gras brunch. We were greeted warmly and immediately brought to our table. The atmosphere was very fun and everyone was happy in there. The food was amazing! I ate seafood jambalaya, grits and grillades, roast pork loin, shrimp etouffee, along with other dishes. The desserts were a la carts and amazing. I highly recommend the cheesecakes. I hope to return when I am in the area again.

I firmly believe The Little Big Cup is one of the BEST restaurants in Louisiana! The location doesn't look like much in the front but once you go inside and then go check out the rear of the joint they have some really nice views that make for a great ambiance. They have different versions of their buffets with one being a Cajun boucherie, another one being surf and turf and then yet another being a selection of items from their regular menu. So far I've only managed to get here for their regular lunch menu but I got to SEE the evening buffet and it looked amazing. The items that my dining companion and I ate were both on the buffet and the price of the buffet would have been cheaper than the total of what we had from the menu. This place is so popular you typically NEED to make a reservation to eat here at least two or more weeks ahead of time. The reservation is often NOT optional so you MUST make a reservation to ensure you can eat here. Some people have gotten very lucky and managed to get in here without a reservation but the odds are NOT in your favor. This is just an overall fantastic spot with friendly service and amazing food. For me to say it is one of the BEST in Louisiana means you NEED to eat here ASAP!!!

Our entire experience here was just awesome! Our waitress was very friendly, outgoing and helpful! The ambience here at Little Big Cup is very nice. It's in an old part of town right on Bayou Fuselier. They have an outside dining area and deck that goes right down to the water that would be really pleasant in the spring and Fall. The appetizers are really great and there is a nice selection to choose from, like the Bayou Fuselier fried shrimp with a Honey Tabasco dipping sauce, seafood nachos, fried chicken livers, crawfish cornbread, pan fried crab cakes, fried Green Tomatoes, and more!!! The Bayou Fuselier Shrimp were awesome! I had a cup of the chicken and smoke sausage Gumbo that was very good made with a dark rich roux. For our main course my wife and I both decided on the Seafood Stack with Red snapper, shrimp, oysters, and crab cake with an eggplant medallion on top that was very delicious! But it's really hard to decide what you want of the menu because everything here looks just and sounds just delicious!!! I also had one of their Little Big Cup Bloody Mary's and it was made just right! Spicy, how I like them! They also have a Brunch buffet that has a ton of deliciousness to choose from and we are thinking next time we come we just might have to do the buffet!! The inside of the Little Big Cup is decorated like an old Victorian home with chandeliers, and other old antiques. You can't help but to love the entire experience here!!! We made a two and a half hour drive from Texas just to come here and it was worth every minute of it!!! We'll do it again too!

Nayah was our waitress and she was great ! My partners first time here and he was blown away by the food, ambiance, etc. he says def top 5 restaurants. We live in Acadia parish and he thinks it's worth coming back every so often. We'll be back! P.s. the chicken and sausage gumbo was delicious ! Cinnamon rolls were as well! So fluffy and sweet. We loved sitting outside. That kitty was precious ! Thank you !

Seafood enchiladas and coconut lavender margarita to the top left.

Seriously everything was awesome. The way we were greeted and the recommendations and the drinks...if I could give 10 stars I would. We started out with the boudin egg rolls with a jelly dip. So good! So so good. Then we had the seafood stuffed baked potato and asked for the crawfish sauted instead of fried. It was creamy and delicious with shrimp crawfish and crab, gluten free and very filling. Next we had the seafood enchiladas. Guys, this seafood enchilada is like no other. I was pleasantly surprised. Please try this. It's different and very pleasing to the tongue. Our drinks were the butterscotch old fashioned...to die for, the coconut lavender margarita...also to die for, and the Bloody Mary...not going to lie, hope you are a cat with nine lives! The bartender crafted the most amazing drinks that hits all your taste buds in the perfect spot!! We finished with the butter cookie cheesecake....I would recommend all of these things, highly, and if you go, split things so you can try more of the menu. You can also sit in the bar area which is separate to the dining room if you are looking for a quaint semi-private area. We checked out the back patio for a quick gander....love the lighting and the tables right at the bayou. Such a unique place. Worth the drive. Check it out.

Chicken and sausage Gumbo. It's got a kick so be ready for that!

Well I really wanted this to be a great place that I could really crave about. But honestly, it was just ok. Don't get me wrong, the location is in a beautiful small town, along the bayou, and you can tell that the owners truly wanted to craft a special location experience here. However, there are some areas that need some attention, like the air conditioning. I know it was lunchtime, but I will say that it was SOME WARM in the restaurant. They have got to invest in better cooling. Our server, Herman, was super speedy. He was running around! May not have been as attentive as he could have been, and may have made more drink purchases had he stoped by a little more. But i think he may have had a large table load, so I am thoughtful that he may have just been doing the best he could. Food- honestly, I would say I would give it a 3 out of 5. It was ok, but not spectacular. I do think this is a good place that I think could really improve with some small improvements.

    Absolutely horrible!

Like other's have stated their surf & turf is a marketing' ploy Does not look as advertised it was also a disgusting low quality cut. Ive seen better cuts of meat at super one! My wife compared my cutting of the steak to someone playing a violin it was that bad I really hate doing this, but someone needs to show this review to the owner I drove 2h18m each way with my wife on date night My wife's favorite Fettuccine was on the buffet so I wanted to surprise her only to get there & no one knew why penne was there instead of Fettuccine, all she was told sorry about that we will talk to the kitchen about their mess ups tonight, but you are welcome to order it from the menu Like why not have her have the buffet & just make her the Fettuccine? Seriously What followed next is totally unacceptable, we were largely ignored for at least 45 minutes before I got up & asked for a server. Once the server acknowledged our existence it took her forever (another 32 minutes) to take our order! She did not care if we had drinks & when it came time pay they took forever with the check & to come back with change & receipt When the hostess asked me are you ok sir I said NO im pretty pissed off, that steak was just horrible and I did NOT eat be beyond two bites one bite from each end All I was told was sorry & she just walked away Hopefully the owner or management sees this & does something about this!

We found Parrain's Seafood while searching for authentic Louisiana food and a good po'boy/seafood…read morespot before making our drive back home to Houston. We were in Baton Rouge helping our grandson move into his dorm as an incoming freshman at LSU, and Parrain's kept coming up in our searches and reviews. We decided to give it a try, and I'm SO glad we did! We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., and when I tell you EVERYBODY and their family was there... I mean everybody! The parking lot was packed. There is plenty of parking, but there were so many people that we still had to hunt for a spot. Thankfully, we found one under a shade tree because it was HOT! When we walked up, we fully expected a long wait. There is plenty of outdoor seating for people waiting, and I also noticed they have both steps and an accessibility ramp leading to the entrance. My daughter and I sat down while my husband stood in line to put our name on the list. About five minutes later, he was waving for us to come inside! Apparently, many of the people waiting were large groups and families coming from church, but since there were only three of us, they were able to seat us almost immediately. HUGE plus! Once inside, it was BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. It took our server a little while to initially get to us, but considering how packed the restaurant was, it really wasn't bad at all. Our waitress was very nice, and I was actually impressed with how quickly our food came out. Now let's talk about the FOOD!! We first ordered the onion rings for an appetizer... super delicious I ordered the fried shrimp platter, and those shrimp were fried to PERFECTION! Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The meal also came with salad, fries, hush puppies, and a side. The hush puppies were SO GOOD! They are shaped almost like little donut holes... crispy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside. Delicious! For my side, I chose the fresh green beans instead of the dirty rice. Unfortunately, those were the one thing I didn't enjoy. They didn't have much flavor to me and seemed a little undercooked. Next time, I'll definitely choose another side. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter with dirty rice, coleslaw, and fries, and he loved everything. I tasted his coleslaw, and OH MY GOODNESS! Get the coleslaw! It was different from any coleslaw I've had before. It has whole peanuts in it, which sounds unusual, but somehow it WORKS! The peanuts add this wonderful crunch and flavor. It was SO good. And the French fries!! I've never seen fries cut this way before. They're almost shaped like little Scoop Fritos, with a crispy outside and soft potato inside. So unique and really good! My daughter ordered the catfish strips and fries from the kids' menu. These weren't processed little nuggets... they were actual pieces of catfish cut into strips, and she really enjoyed them. She also ordered the crab fingers, and those were another 10/10! They were incredibly well-seasoned with a little spice and tons of flavor. I tasted one and wanted MORE! I'm watching my sodium intake, so I behaved myself, but they were absolutely delicious. Overall, Parrain's was a 10/10 for us. The only thing I wouldn't personally order again would be the green beans. Everything else, from the shrimp and catfish to those amazing hush puppies, unique fries, crab fingers, and especially that coleslaw, was DELICIOUS. Yes, it was crowded and lively, but we still received really good service and didn't have to wait nearly as long as we expected. With our grandson now attending LSU, we'll be making plenty of trips back to Baton Rouge, and Parrain's has officially made our list of places we will be visiting again!

I had really been looking forward to trying Parrain's Seafood, but unfortunately my experience was…read moredisappointing. Our waitress, Kate M., didn't have the best customer service. She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
