Upon unwrapping and eating everything in the hotel room, I like how everything was packaged and they threw in grilled onions, and a serrano pepper for spice. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

Personally, of the four dumpling fillings, beef was my favorite. All four starters are a good choice, but if you leave without trying the Beef Roll, you are doing yourself a disservice. The dumplings came in multiple colors with a nice crust on the bottom and packed with filling. I got caught off guard with the extra fried dough-residue attached to the dumplings but it didn't bother me. The order comes with 2 dumplings each of beef onion, pork scallion, chicken, and vegetable. The combo noodles has chicken, beef, and shrimp mixed in with onions and peppers and a soy-based sauce. IT's a hefty portion that gave me lunch for the next day. I'll have to try the noodle soups and other dumplings next time I'm here. Overall a solid asian eats spot in Lafayette.
