Service was great. Food was just OK. Everything is over seasoned and battered. No Bud Light or Budweiser. Upcharge for HOT SAUCE. Water all comes in bottles and is an upcharge and no one tells you. They're randomly out at opening of basic items like fries and mozzarella sticks. This place nickels and dimes for everything. My total for a meal and a beer with a bottle of water was $31. Been trying to find a good wings place in Cola and a friend recommended this place. The place had a cool vibe but there was a weird musty odor that was off putting. Service was very nice. The wings were good, crunchy and juicy, but I wish they had some better spicy sauce options. I turned to a Columbia Eats Facebook group for the best wing spot in Columbia. A lot of people suggested Peebles so we took a chance on it! When you pull up you're 100% going to be concerned on what you're walking into but just trust the process. It's a small dive bar (in my own words) they have TVs all over the place but it's not a large place either. There's a bar inside and they have beer on tap and a decent margarita as well. I got the hot garlic parm wings and they where GOOD. If you love a Cajun seafood broil with garlic butter- that would be the pick for you. My husband got the Jamaican Jerk wings and they where good but I just prefer what I got over what he got lol. We shared the waffle fries and they where good as well. Their ranch HAS to be house made. I haven't eaten *in* Peebles, but I've ordered takeout from them (DoorDash) a ton. Absolutely AMAZING wings! Some of the best ones I have ever had! Both the bone-in and the boneless wings are outstanding. Large, meaty wings that don't leave you hungry, order 20 and have plenty of food for the next day too. I have had most of their sauces by now and love them all. The boneless wings don't taste like they are Tyson Anytizers like most boneless wings in the area do. I've passed by this place for years wondering about the food and if it was worth the stop. I must say, all these years, I've truly been missing out!! I tried to place an online order via their website however the order website continued to present an error message a few times so I just headed over to DoorDash. The menu seemed to have a decent variety. There were things on the restaurant menu that was not on the DoorDash menu which was a bit disappointing. The food took about an hour or so to arrive. I loved that the bag was sealed and everything was packaged so neatly. The food was warm which I thought was pretty impressive; along with the massive portion sizes. We ordered the bbq sandwich plate and it came with two sandwiches. I've never witnessed that before! Like wow! A full plate of waffle fries that was cooked to perfection. I usually frown upon waffle fries that do not come from Chick-Fil-A, I'm not going to lie. However, these waffle fries take the throne for sure! The foot long Philly cheesesteak was amazing!! Love this hole in the wall bar!!! Great place & divey. Bartender was attentive. They have Pepsi products that are flat so blah to that. I was able to have a good rum but with Pepsi it fell flat. No matter, my date ordered a bottle soda for me to mix. Still flat & a great rum mix though! Despite that this place rocks ass & prices are amazing. Loved being here & music and was great. You know the food is good when there are rat traps and stray cats in the parking lot. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated ourselves. This place is small, but has so much character. The beer was cold and there was a game playing on every free surface, but it wasn't too loud to carry on a conversation. We ordered wings, wing chips (customized floppiness according to your preference), carrots, catfish bites, and the best cheesesteak I've had outside of Brooklyn. Everything was good. Our server was was friendly and prompt. Everyone there seemed content...the patrons *and* staff. I'm from Buffalo, NY now living in the Columbia, SC area so always an adventure trying to find good Buffalo style wings and pizza. It looks like a great, little "out of the way" place to catch a beer and the game so might go back to try that. I ordered 10 jumbo wings, they didn't offer a "buffalo" style hot (Franks & butter) so went with the Peebles hot. I asked that the wings be well done and crispy, hate soggy, gooey wings! I'm not sure that these are deep fried, they look like they're breaded and then baked, maybe then deep fried for a very short period of time. The wings were a good size, the blue cheese was a good size, flavor was good but we're still a bit too gooey for me, again didn't have the crispy deep fried crunch. We walked inside and after a few minutes The waitress point and told us to sit over there. Accept for a lady at the bar we were the only ones there. I ordered the catfish nuggets and my wife ordered the boneless wings. The catfish nuggets was the best I have had in a long time. The cold slaw was different but very good. Football season is BACK! We found this place through yelp & since it was nearby, we decided to try it out. Parking outside can be disorganized if you're coming during a busy time. The parking stalls are limited, so if you're coming during an event, arrive early! Upon entering, we were a little unsure where to enter because the door is hidden in a little pocket. After entering, we were immediately greeted by our waitress. She informed us that since it was busy, it would be about a 45 min wait for food, but we were welcome to sit and watch the game. We arrived at 1pm and didn't leave until 6pm just watching football. Our waitress, Emily, was MORE than accommodating to us. She recommended some items on the menu that we absolutely loved! We tried the mild lemon pepper and mild garlic parm. You can't request all flats or drums. It comes with carrots, celery, & ranch/blue cheese. The size of the wings were huge! I ate about three, when at Buffalo Wild Wings I usually eat 7. My friend tried the shrimp po' boy. The shrimps seemed as if they were previously frozen, but the flavor was all there! Their fries also tasted/looked like that made it in house. Emily recommended we try the cheesesteak next time we come by. As far as COVID-19, I only saw one of the staff members wearing a mask. They wipe down the tables, but not the seats and social distancing was not enforced. We didn't mind it, but some people do so I'm just throwing that out there. Overall a great sports bar. They had all the football games on and the staff made sure we were able to watch the games we wanted on the TV close to us. Will definitely be coming back! We were told it would be at least another 30/40 minutes, at 6.00 when the game was starting at 7. There were no jumbo wings. Our lunch group went here yesterday. Had seven of us and got there right at 11:30. First time for all of us and we were a bit surprised at the atmosphere. I know it was early, but all the bar stools were upside down on the bar, and wires hanging all down and straggling above the bar area....I guess it's just the "industrial look". Five of us ordered chicken wings, one ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and one ordered the Chicken Cheese Fries. I must say, they have a heck of an assortment of rubs and sauces for the wings. The wings themselves, were quiet large, and not like some of these real puny things you're seeing nowadays at some of the places. My friend and I ordered the garlic parmesan dry rubbed with blue cheese sauce. I have never seen so much garlic on a wing before. Totally loaded with garlic. I'm a garlic fan, but this was taking it a bit far. The Philly Cheese Steak was said to be great, in fact, he ordered another one to go to take home to his wife. The Chicken Cheese Fries looked like a large platter of mess. He ate about 1/4 of the plate and left the rest. Said he'd not order that again. I'd go back, but probably try the new Peebles in the Vista. It looks to be a better atmosphere and more of a sports bar. We've eaten here numerous times. The food has always been at least average, sometimes a little above. The wings, chips and fried okra are always good. Cheap prices on beer and alcohol. Makes for an inexpensive date. They do have some specials on some items sometimes that are pretty good also. The owner is very hands on and does a good job trying to keep the customers happy. BUT, I called to order take out as I was looking online at their menu, tried to get 2 different wing flavors before I was told they didn't have either anymore and that I should really "check the website to see that", well, those flavors were listed on the website. Peebles Wing Shack is a fantastic restaurant that is more than meets the eye. A seemingly dive-like restaurant whose exterior consists of rooster decal, a rooster statue, and a gravel parking lot, it may not look that appealing to most and many may pass it driving on Rosewood without giving it a second thought. I am so glad I gave this place a try as it now ranks as one of my favorite Columbia restaurants. The interior is dark and, depending on the time you go and the sports event taking place at the time, the atmosphere can be fairly hectic and loud. Service can also get fairly slow, so be warned. Otherwise, service is usually fantastic. As stated previously, the food here is great. I have been looking for a decent chicken wings place for the longest time and seem to have finally stumbled upon it. With an assorted number of dry rubs and tasty sauces, the combination of flavors is seemingly endless and we have not been disappointed with anything we have tried. Our favorite is definitely the lemon-yaki, so give that one a shot. The boneless wings are also very good. I do eventually want to branch out and try their frog legs and crawfish, but it's so difficult when the wings keep calling me back... Definitely recommended! read more

Wings were good. I got Medium sized wings in the teriyaki hot flavor. The sauce is homemade and had a crunch to it . I got it to go so I wasn't able to ask what it was . The ranch was a hit also just need more than one. I also got the waffle fries which had a lot of seasoning on them that wasn't salty . They weren't crispy but possibly could have been if I dined in . Wing quality was the best I've had in a long time so I'll be back to try other flavors. read more

Before I begin to write a review, I want to say we like this restaurant. But here are my problems with it. The menu is constantly changing. Three weeks ago you can get a snack of wings and fries. Tonight you no longer can. Only order 10, 20, or 30 wings. Obviously catering to college students and not adults who don't pig out. My husband loves draft beer, but their selection is terrible.
