My husband a Vietnam Nam Veteran passed away in February. Peek handled his cremation. When my son and I 1st went to make arrangements we were met by a very nice lady Cerra. She took us to an office in the back of the building it looked like a storage area with a couple desks added. I got past all that and when it was time to pick up his remains.I was told to go to the reception desk and they would help me. I introduced myself and the very nice lady told me wait just a minute. She left the room and came back with the urn with my husband of 56 years in a bag and set him on the desk. I couldn't believe it they could have taken me to a private room to give me a minute at least to compose myself . The receptionist had me sign a paper and handed me my husband's folded flag , I can't imagine being treated like this in a place that is suposed to be caring and a place to mourn our loved ones. This place is NOT THE PLACE TO REST IN PEACE. We paid for cremation. BUDDHIST believed, keep in mind we asked the monk for the time and date for funeral and cremation. The monks did their services, time were set to push the bottom at a certain time, for example, 10, 1 hour before that, they LIED that the permit, not received yet. Then, when we were done with service, they came to us to say the other county didn't report to police yet. The body was picked up at another county, and we paid for mileage. The hospital reported the same day. Don't lie. Bad business. I knew what they were doing. KICK US OUT FOR THE NEXT BODY. Anyhow, what can we do then, so we all left with the body there not cremated yet. They said they can let us know when to come back, or if not convenient, then they'll do themselves. SO WHAT'S THE USE FOR US TO ASK THE MONK FOR BEST TIME AND DATE UNDER BUDDHISM?????? I knew, and I came back and sure was another funeral within 1 hour. Better Business Bureau calling. I've never read reviews for funeral homes, but this funeral home is great. My father had recently passed away and it made sense that we come here since his parents are also here. The team here is very great. We worked closely with Triet. He was able to navigate us throughout this whole process in a very organized and sensitive manner. We walked out of the funeral home, knowing what to expect, what to bring, what not to bring, and how our day would look the day of the funeral. Triet made sure we had a packet of forms/papers in case we forgot anything. He made sure we had access to him (phone/text/email) for any lingering questions that we had. I was even able to reach him the day of my dad's funeral on Sunday at 8am for a brief question. Their customer service is impeccable. This also includes the 2 men (I forgot their names) that were present on 1/24/21 during the funeral service. It was an emotional day and they helped us navigate our difficult day. Everyone that we had met including the man who gave us my dad's ashes was very comforting and helpful. We were supposed to be outside but due to the rain (thank goodness) we were able to hold the service indoors. We were in #5 and it's a very large room with TV, microphone, cables, hand sanitizer, and tables. Peek is extremely organized and set everything up for us prior to coming in that day. The room was clean. More importantly, my dad looked handsome on his last day with us. The team behind the scenes did an excellent job. Death is hard, but planning a funeral is even more difficult especially as no one ever thinks about this process. Peek Funeral home truly made this process easier and less stressful. They are very in-tuned with Vietnamese/Buddhist customs to make sure your loved one is taken care of. If you are looking for a funeral home which takes the values in place, I would recommend Peek. Co Linda, Chu Dung, Chu Tuy, Co Xuan Y and crematory staff were very attentive, kind, and caring in making sure our family had time to mourn for our dad, without worrying about the "ceremonial details" that came with the funeral and crematory processes. We bought a medium priced package, from Anthony, that included everything, from "khan tang, thiep cam on, quyen sach ky ten, com cung, hoa, etc." So, the only things we had to worry about was creating the slideshow, arranging the monks for the ceremonies, and bringing food/snacks for the guests and families. Room #1 was well lit, well kept and maintained. It was set up like a "church with pews" style, and a standing cube for giving eulogy. The room was airy and cool, also equipped with decorated altars, big screen TV, microphones and speakers. Restroom and sitting couches were near the entrance to the side. Chu Dung and Chu Tuy were loving and amazing taking care of our family's needs on the day of the ceremony, guiding us each step of the way. Dad was able to rest peacefully and comfortably. All families, friends and guests were impressed by the Peek staff services. I would highly recommend Peek Funeral and Crematory services for your dearly departing loved ones. I had never heard of Peek Funeral prior to my uncle's funeral. It was held there on a crisp, sunny Friday. My entire family gathered to say our goodbyes. The staff was really great. They had us in one of the buildings with pews. There were Vietnamese Buddhist monks there praying for my uncle's departed spirit. There was a viewing and a short processional. They have an on-site crematorium as well. The service was interesting as it was my first family funeral. I didn't know what to expect but it was well done. The funeral director had a schedule and he helped direct us at different times throughout the day. The package my family purchased included a casket rental, cremation, viewing, etc. While I didn't know what the entire cost was, I know they did a decent job. Mourning is never easy, but at least the folks at Peek were helpful and accommodating. read more

My family used this funeral home for my father and it was an amazing service. It is more expensive in comparison to other funeral homes in the area but to have cremation on site was so helpful. We used chapel 5 and was impressed by the facility itself. There are bathrooms on site. We liked used the kitchen nook, had plenty of cabinets for storage. They allowed use of two big tables and side table. We brought our own tables for a memorial table and the staff was super helpful. We didn't really know what to do for the proceedings but they guided us through each step and answered our many questions throughout the process. Special thanks to Triet for responding quickly to our text messages and make the process easier. Also to the staff that worked the memorial weekend. Thank you for helping us through the two days. My brother died on 1/7/2021 and we had his mortuary service through Peek Funeral home. The staff was accommodating with making the process easier as we were hurting and crying from losing my brother. They were a bit laggy sometimes but most of the time it was all good. It's sad that it cost an arm and a leg to lay your loved one to rest. I didn't think I would ever be writing a review for a services that you utilize at especially hard times of your life but the bilingual and culturally sensitive staff here are so wonderful and supportive. Just really above and beyond. I had no idea what I was doing planning a traditional Buddhist funeral for my aunt and they helped me through each step of the way. Do not trust Peek Mortuary's overall rating, especially on Google. I've left a review multiple times there about this place, but Peek was somehow able to get them flagged and removed each time. It seems Yelp reviews are actually sticking, so here is my EXACT Google review to show that it was appropriate and fair: Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with Peek after our father's death. We dealt with one of the coordinators, Mimi Tran, who was very nice and cordial at first, but seemed to change her attitude the moment we signed the contract. She became rather condescending and we did not look forward to interacting with her. I would think that most people are not very familiar with planning a funeral, nor all the cultural nuances of a Vietnamese one. As a funeral-planning service that caters to the Viet community, I would expect a level of professionalism and sympathy from them regarding this. While I admit we made several changes, planning a funeral within a matter of weeks and trying to coordinate between mortuary, cemetery, and church is a balancing act that isn't always easy. It's a very fluid situation at best and spur-of-the-moment decisions are made that sometimes need to be adjusted, so scheduling changes should be expected. Mimi appeared annoyed whenever we had to modify the itinerary. In addition, at our meetings with her, she answered her phone multiple times to take other calls, did not explain some things in detail, claimed to have mentioned things that, in fact, she did not, and sounded irritated when asked to clarify or repeat certain items. On the day before the service, she called to insist on a sit-down with her to discuss final details due to the changes, but when we called to schedule a time, she never replied to arrange the meeting that SHE requested. Certain aspects of the funeral service were also very different than how she explained and when I approached her about it afterwards, her simple reply was that each service is different, without taking any responsibility for the misinformation. The positive thing I can say is that the viewing and funeral services were very nice. The chapel and church were serene and well-adorned, floral arrangements were beautiful, and the funeral attendants were friendly and helpful. One aspect that I was very impressed with was how well they treated our father's body. I felt they were always very respectful with his presentation and the embalming and make-up were quite good, making him look very natural and at peace. read more

So far in life, the two worse things I have had to live through are the death of my baby brother in 2009 and most recently, the death of my beloved grandma. During the darkest of times, Peek Funeral Home and it's employees took great care of my family members and brought peace to our family during the most difficult times. During my grandma's viewing and funeral, I recognized the same staff members that helped take care of my brother's funeral. They work with so much care and respect and I am so thankful for them. Co Mai Thy was instrumental in helping my family organize the funerals. She went above and beyond to help make sure everything was done well and I am so thankful for her service. At one point, she also helped us set up the food and fruit at the prayer table because I wasn't sure how to do it correctly. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NO STARS! Please people, stay far from this place. If you want to give your loved one a great burial, stay away from Peek Funeral Home. I had my cousin buried here, and it was the worst experience. As the service was going on, we realized that more people came than expect. Thus, we asked for chairs. Now, these people are Vietnamese. When we asked for chairs, they whispered to each other in Vietnamese, "wow, these people are annoying." Unfortunately for them, we know how to speak Vietnamese. I apologize that we did not count predict exactly how many people would show up to give their final goodbyes to my deceased cousin. But we hired these people to accommodate our needs in our time of morning. We are not annoying, we are customers. They should be doing everything they can to help us. BUT IT GETS WORSE. They pointed my father towards a room where the chairs where located. And left. THEY DEPARTED, my friends!! My father, who remember was in mourning, HAD TO CARRY ALL THE CHAIRS HIMSELF. He went back and forth to the service room and chair room, carrying 4 chairs in his arm at a time. Eventually, my other family members joined in as we tried to make our guests feel comfortable. But let me just emphasize, during our time of need, we did not any help from the Peek Funeral Organization. We actually received only hate. Now if you're thinking, this girl is just complaining for now reason, and you want to give the place a try... Please visit. They rooms were services are held are not well designed. There is not a centered place were everyone can look. Some chairs are arranged to face a wall. Just so awkward! The poor architecture can also lead to strained necks. My family decided on this place because it was "cheaper." IT WASNT EVEN THAT CHEAP. Please, if you want to give your family member a proper goodbye, this place is not where you should do it. To whom it may concern / Peek Family Home Westminster, 7801 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA 92683. Since my father passed away and buried at the Peek Family Home Westminster on February 2019 then my family regularly coming to this place to visit and taking care of his grave. When we arrived to this cemetery and the first thing we noticed that many surrounding tombstones nearby our father's grave that have been deeply dug in to the ground forming to become the deep holes around these tombstones by a number of unprofessional cutting and trimming grass people and may hold plenty of water when it rains and may also cause damage to the tombstones in the future. We had also placed some gravels around our father's tombstone to prevent the grass from growing but unfortunately we discovered that these gravels had been removed by the staff people from the Peek Family Home because they are thinking that we decorated our father's grave in the different way that does not allow by the rule at this cemetery. This is just a small amount of gravels for preventing from growing grass and also it looked better at our father's grave. We are so disappointed when they removed the gravels from our father's grave. Assuming if we purchased the land for burial more expense or paying more money somewhere else in this cemetery for our father then that would not be happened. I have heard about this story from some people's comments to this place. So bad to know about this matter that happened to my father's grave yesterday. My suggestion is the better decorations from the people's ideas will work great to make this cemetery more quality in the future. Peek Family Home never realizes about it. However, if you can afford to pay more money for your love ones then definitely you will have more freedoms in your own way. It is all about their business to you. read more

It's an ok place we had "Chapel # 3",more like a big empty room, not much in nor outside Not a solemnly place for Chapel # 3 & 4. Too popular and too busy double booked their crematory, charging for witness but we were just standing in front of a closed blind window praying in a tiny room. Le di Quang was a walk around the parking lot. Not a cheap place either. Staff are ok, not much attendant cuz they are spreading out servicing 5 "Chapels" Attended a funeral at Melrose Abbey in Anaheim, much better place with a nice chapel/church building with lots of trees and grass space, several attending staff with white gloves, nice walk way to a decent size cremation witness room. read more

When my father-in-law passed after a long illness Peek were phenomenal. They arrived to pick up his body in a very timely fashion and the two ladies who did so treated him a huge amount of respect and caring. When we later went to the funeral home, Sean was patient, kind and answered all of our questions and took a lot of pressure of of us as the stress of the situation was very overwhelming. In March my family buried our grandmother here and I hope no one experience what my family went through. We brought our grandmother's casket to the lot where she was suppose to be buried and then the people had instructed us that we were at the wrong spot and guided us to another lot. We said our final farewells and threw in flowers and they covered her casket and put her in the ground. Come to find out a few months later they notified us saying they buried our grandmother in the wrong lot and had to dig her back up and bring her to the correct lot. I never experienced anything so unprofessional in my life. We payed a lot of money to lay our grandmother to rest and to Rest In Peace and for us to experience that is really disappointing. I know people make mistakes but this should never happen especially to a family who is just trying to say our final farewell without stress and grieve in peace. read more

Unfortunately, I have been here on many sad occasions for loved ones passed away. Nicely kept cemetery. The funeral homes are well equipped. I suggest they need capable security staff around here. I saw some old men in uniform but they are more like gate keeper & gardener. Too old to run, too weak to enforce rules & nobody is scared of them or listens to them. When it is my turn, I would not want to be buried here. It is WAY too expensive. I would get cremated & get over with. Leave peacefully & save the planet for others while moving on to a better world where there is no hatred, greed & desire. Why bother buried here & nobody comes to visit your dead organic body? My Review is to help someone not go through what we went through...Do Not go here.. Heritage in Huntington beach is wonderful. I cannot say that enough..... First look around at Peeks it is filthy. Second she just cared more about he money, we did not know how to plan a funeral and we asked for help, she just went and got the contract. We were so frustrated we told her do not do a thing with Henry we are going to find another Funeral home. WE found a wonderful one, Heritage on beach blvd in Huntington Beach. Caesar is so helpful. He called Peeks Funeral home to make arrangements to pick up Henry and they said he was in the middle of being embalmed. We told them do not touch him. They did it anyways and demanded a check. Their prices were ridiculous, Ask what each cost means. We found out from Heritage, that something they were charging two hundred dollars for was just a fax, they put it in words to make it look like a service they are doing. But it was just a darn fax, and Heritage did not charge a dime for it. They referred to Henry as remains and Heritage refers to him as Henry. Caesar said they had Henry for an hour than Peeks calls and tells Caesar that they can pick him up now. They did not even know he had been gone for an hour. Look and see the filth, than get your loved one as far away from there as possible. read more
