Caution - Snakes. For the first time in our family legacy I have been trying to establish burial arrangements for my Mother. I've never felt so oppressed during the worst possible time. My requests are not outlandish, you treat me as such because I recognize the cash grab. Prior to that thought. 1. Between the Funeral home representatives and the Mortuary representatives, the cost is upwards to 50k to bury someone. 30k for the plot - 16k for funeral home costs. Let's not forget taxes on my end having to pull that much money from the bank for an UPFRONT COST. They claim payment plans are available - it's a credit card that you have to apply for. No other pricing arrangements were suggested to me. I feel as though I have been discriminated and targeted on the assumption that I might have money. 2. I've made several attempts to call and speak to Warren - Never calls back. I've made several attempts to itemize the bill. NO CALL BACK. They even said you can itemize the bill! This tells me a lot about their business practice. If you don't make their deal, you will be cast aside. Sickening. read more

After fighting for over a year w 2 managers, nothing was done till now, I still cannot believe why anybody would sink so low and stole my parents urn. 1 was stolen, the 2nd one was so buried under a mountain of dirt and grass, my husband was not able to dig it out to put flowers in. I also complained there was dead grass for years, this time the receptionist called the new manager, her name was Nancy Vasquez, she came promptly, I was so impressed, she was really courteous and professional, she took in the info and said it would be done in the morning. After waiting so long for help, I waited 2 weeks to call her and was shocked it was indeed done in 24 or 48 hours. The replaced urn was beautiful shining in the sun, the dirt was removed out of the 2nd and I saw a little grass, I was so so happy and grateful, my parents thanked you Nancy, God bless you! I had a bad experience w the folks selling the grave marker stone for my sister, I won't go into details, let's just say it was a disaster so that is the only reason it is 4 stars, 5 stars for Nancy. read more

Cemetery grounds have become worse over the years. In addition, certain areas have been locked down, unless you are a family member. The staff will not let you in, when there is nothing concerning. Are they trying to be something they're not? Also, there is often bad traffic by the side on Bolsa. read more

I would like to begin by commending Westminster Memorial Park and Mortuary for its excellent maintenance. I understand that a mortuary requires ongoing work and construction. I visit my loved one every morning, and given the emotional weight of these visits, the last thing I want to experience is rude behavior. I am deeply saddened to report that the ground staff frequently make rude comments toward visitors. With over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry and a decent command of Spanish, I have noticed that the staff at the Mortuary often make disparaging remarks, even in minor situations such as passing by while driving in Spanish. I hope you will address this issue with the staff. While this may be their job, they need to remember that working in a mortuary involves interacting with grieving individuals and that mockery, giggling, and passing comments are inappropriate and unappreciated. read more

Upkeep is very lackluster. Wouldn't be a problem if they rectified this after several calls. Called in many times to pick up trash and maintain multiple gravesites that we own but no one ever does. Sadly it's been years like this and even the bare minimums for holidays like today's Father's Day aren't even cleaned up or grass cut. Management has yet to fix this but would be more than happy to change my review if my family saw progress read more

It's been a year now we have came in to try to figure out 10 times to see what's going on. I tried to get it refinished, however was told, unable to do, MY Mother's Birthday and death date are April 4. I agreed, to $250.00 for refinished, then was told 1188.00 for new one, finally after almost a year, it was placed today, I received a message stating it was placed, $1580.00 total and she didn't even send me a picture! Westminster Memorial Park & Mortuary has left an everlasting and beautiful memory for my father. I give special thanks to Keith Halseth, Final Arrangements Advisor whom we met with in March 2023, and Warren Roitman, Funeral Arranger and his funeral team who honored our Veteran father at his passing in February 2024. The celebration of life display in the main Chapel was beautiful & impressive. My mother loved it! The slideshow, the playlist, the life story table was amazing! Warren Roitman was my hero! He was so caring & sincere. The pre Arrangements were certainly taken with care & heartfelt condolences and my entire family is so appreciative to Warren Roitman & his team. He notified the VA Riverside National Cemetery of my fathers passing on my behalf and had my father in full attire. Warren Roitman did it all 110% and with professionalism and poise. My father was laid to rest April 3, 2024 and he was my everything. Warren helped me every step of the way to make it all possible for my mother & my siblings. My days have been long, but I couldn't end the year without a review and special thanks to Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary. I recommend Warren Roitman to anyone who has lost a loved one. Really? On Christmas Eve out of all days. Not only have we waited for our name plaque for months, this is the damage done when they installed it. We didn't even get a heads up or a sorry! It was just haphazardly glued back together. Would of been respectful and nice to at least have a heads up so we could've replaced the picture before the holidays, but I guess that's what happens when they only care about money. Genuinely disappointed with this place. Don't bother getting a plot or anything here, Forest Lawn is a bit of a drive but at least from my experiences they will take care of you. read more

The level of frustration for this place is unreal. Just don't do it. They're great at the beginning but as soon as you pay, it all goes south. I see multiple reviews now about the headstone.. our rep "forgot" to place the order... We didn't get the grave stone installed until November 2021. They took me through the entire process taking in consideration my grief and frame of mind Warren R treated me like one of his own family with tenderness and empathy all the way to the culmination of the service. Liana T provided her great talent to make the memorial table a beautiful addition to the service. I would recommend this feature for any memorial service. It shines a light of joy in the midst of sadness and grief. The addition of keepsakes for guests was an added surprise and beautiful gesture. I received so many compliments regarding the service. My wife and I decided to take care our funeral arrangements so when we pass it wouldn't be an arduous task for the survivor(s). We chose Dignity to help us plan our arrangements. We were approximately halfway through the process when we learned the person assigned to helping us took a position with another company and left Dignity. We met Aracely Avina who was given the challenging task of picking up and trying to finish a project that someone else had started. Aracely was amazing and never stumbled once in helping us complete our plans! She explains everything perfectly and calmly as well as explaining all of our options where we understood them perfectly. In our couple of meetings together, we had a few questions that she immediately knew the answer to and the one and only question I had that she didn't know the answer to, she excused herself from the table and in just two minutes or less, brought the person into the office so he could explain it to us. It was actually a question that had nothing to do with us making our plans but was a question that the Mortician needed to answer. The little hiccup halfway through or so where our person left Dignity was out of Dignity' control and Aracely was very professional and treated us great with a lot of patience finishing a sometimes sensitive and emotional task in planning your funeral. read more

It sure is hard to get a call back or returned email from this place. Today I called multiple times. When I finally got through, I was put on hold about 5x (Twice, I was on hold for over 5 minutes). The calls ended after a while with no response. Then I'd call right back and try all over again. Finally gave up after 10 calls (by the way, I've been trying to connect with someone for the past 2 months now) No one will call me back or respond to my emails (looking at you especially, Diego M.) I finally sent a message on their website, for someone else (not Diego) to please call me and take my money for a marker. I had a horrible experience with my mothers prepaid, pre planned services, from 1989. I DO NOT recommend them. They assign you 2 people to work with, neither talks to each other. I spent a lot of time working with them. Although they offer to help you constantly. Taking our time is not considerate. It took them ALMOST A MONTH to cremate my mother (due to backlog) , the 2 resources gave me two different dates to place her ashes in the crypt. Then one told me it wasn't her job. They actually told me that multiple times. I finally told them to only communicate with me in email and I copied both employees so they couldn't say they "didn't" know. There was no nameplate on the crypt box. It had been prepaid. I had to "prove"to them it was already paid for. They tried to upsell me a "special" name plate. I had to show them, their contract showing payment. Finally a month post death they sent me a form to fill out. It took them 3 weeks to send me the mock up. All that is included was name, year of birth and death, and 4 words . It's a preset, very simple plate; it will now take them a month or so to have it printed. This should've been communicated immediately in the process. It appears they want to catch you in your most vulnerable state to upsell you. The employees did not appear competent. My mother passed on July 24, it will be over 3 months to get the name plate. read more

My 98 year old Father recently passed away. Ann Stemmer and Robert Ruiz made everything work seamlessly to accomplish his funerary needs. There was no pressure to sign up for services not requested. Very caring and efficient. All the documents were sent out in a timely manner for Death Certificate and their staff was in constant communication via text and cell through the whole process. YOU DON'T GET AN ANSWERING SERVICE! You get a person answering the phone from Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary. Transfer of the deceased was in a timely manner once notified by my Hospice provider of my Father's death. Very fast. No waiting. I would recommend WMPM. read more

My dad passed away suddenly. He had pre arranged his service in 1994. My sister and I were dreading the ordeal. The staff here were so compassionate and caring. We walked out of the first consultation shaking our heads. Chelsea- was so organized and I really appreciated that she was firm on making sure my dads wishes were met ( open casket and being embalmed) Ann- spoke to us a few times and shared personal ideas that we Included in our dads funeral. I can't thank her enough for taking the time with me on many occasions to help me through my grief. What a hidden gem. Ashley - was so wonderful during the entire service. I will be reporting to the BBB and taking this further!!! The level of frustration with this company is just over the top. For a memorial park & mortuary to not be able to ensure that a plaque for a niche, be ordered and installed in a timely manner is absolutely RIDICULOUS. It's not like it's something new for them. I've been dealing with this company, for simple request since April of 2022, and to this date I have NOTHING. I then dealt several people, and as of 9/03/2022, I'm now I'm being told that the order they finally placed on July 15th, won't be here until the end of November or early December. The General Manager, Jeffrey Gibson stated that if I needed anything else to contact him - well when I tried to call and speak him, I was give someone else to talk to and although his assistant was able to finally get my brothers plaque confirmed correctly and ordered (at least that is what I thought), we still don't have a concrete solid date as to when we can expect this to be resolved. Today 9/19/2022, I emailed Jeff Gibson, in actual hopes that he will get to the bottom of this and will email or call me back. The amount of people involved in a simple order, is beyond anything I can comprehend. This is the worst customer service I've ever had after my initial interaction with them (which was an actual great experience.) However, it all feels very bait and switch! June 2022 - My family and I are completely flabbergasted that we are still unable to get a simple plaque for our loved one. We've attempted multiple times to get this resolved and to this day, we have yet to have someone help us or get in contact with us. It's truly disappointing I personally will NOT be using this facility to plan for my future needs. My original post from back 2021... Losing a loved one is such a difficult time. Then you throw in having to make arrangements for your loved one. We were fortunate enough to have Dignity Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary help us during such a difficult time. Luckily will not be returning because bedside manner is awful. Felt more like prisoners than grievers. Had to knock to be let in, or rather wait to be escorted in, because we couldn't wait in the lobby even though we had a viewing room ready. Literally had to have door unlocked to leave as well. Person we dealt with was not pleasant and luckily I only had to deal with this place once (I was never part of the planning portion) because I don't think I could have managed to stay patient and respectful when being treated so rudely. Our family is very disappointed in the service we received for my husband's recent funeral on Jan 6 2023..The sloppy makeup on his body was terrible, and the suit and tie he was wearing were obviously not arranged in a neat manner. The video we carefully assembled was difficult to view given the location of the screen and the video stopped before the complete showing was done. There were at least 30 more photos to view. It was very disappointing to those unable to attend to see a poorly shown video. The minister had to deal with a lecturn what was falling apart. I have had other family members funeral services there and the level of service was far and away superior to what we experienced. I noticed that there is a 100%guarantee to make things right. The park is fine. I haven't been to many cemetaries, but I'm guessing this one is more or less similar to others. Customer service, however, could be greatly improved. While the staff members are nice in general, they aren't particularly helpful. You have to be very proactive, ask questions, follow up, and lead yourself in getting service. For example, despite multiple calls and emails, it's been frustratingly difficult to get a gravemarker for my family member who passed away months ago. read more

This is in follow up to my mother's previous review. Today, Nov 3, 2021, She received a message that my grandmother, her mother's name plate had been placed on her niche. This was the most simple name plate available. She died on July 24, 2021. On her first review the manager gave his typical response that he would call (same as almost every other response). We NEVER received a call from him, during my arrangement timeframe or since. This is a sensitive time in your life, pick wisely. I do not recommend Westminster Memorial Park. read more

My sister bought a pre- packaged for the complete package for cremation, urn, columbarium memorial niche, etc. years ago so the siblings and close ones did not have to worry about the details. Wrong! First, they didn't have the original record.
