Worst service ever. We were waiting more than 10 minutes to order. There was any other customers to order. The cashier was doing her own things but I didn't think anything so hurry. She stood me up for about 10 minutes so I asked her when I can order. She finally took my order. 1 Americano and 1 moca frappe. After 3 minutes, she came out from the back side, and told me that their espresso machine is broken. I didn't buy it. I just asked a refund and she brought another rude lady to take care of this refund. And she said "have a nice day". Best sarcastic tone I've ever heard of. read more

I don't usually frequent Pete's, however yesterday I dropped by and might I say the coffee is noticeably better than Starbucks' coffee. My favorite chain coffee shop. The staff here are extremely friendly, even near closing time, they've never turned down customers I see running in. My friends and I have been coming here for years, and we don't plan on changing that. Mocha Freddo is my preferred drink on a hot California day. read more

This has literally been my office for almost a semester when I was in Caltech. It is warm, nice and they have really interesting people over there. The specific geographical location of the coffee is not the ideal as it sits exactly at a large intersection but it is really cozy on the inside and there are many places to find a sit. They have free wi-fi and many times they allow you to try different coffees. read more

let me start off simply- there's a way to say things while still getting a point across. unfortunately, the baristas here don't understand that, or well specifically this one barista today and our previous visit. her tone & demeanor when shouting across the store to us was very rude & embarrassing. the store is as silent as it could be & there are closer baristas to inform us, however, she decided to yell across the store about our mask, which were pulled down to drink the dripping coffee off the lid (onto our hands & shoes) no more than 5 seconds, all the while she herself is constantly adjusting & touching her own while handling food items. we drive out 30+ mins in order to go to Peet's coffee because the quality is great, however, it's not worth it if our coffee experience is met with rude baristas every time. i had to write about this one because delivery is everything, i'm not saying she was wrong to speak about the mask, but they need to understand their tone is demeaning & is more than likely going to push customers away. this is already a smaller coffee shop in this area, i would hate to see more close down but if they don't get their attitudes straight, they're going to shew off business. when we go here we are always polite & courteous to not make your jobs harder, so i don't understand why we don't get the same care back. i don't appreciate being rushed or spoken to with an attitude. overall, this store needs an attitude adjustment. good drinks but bad customer service. i almost wanted to take back my initial tip. read more

Our first visit to any Peet's shop. The guy at the register seemed really annoyed that we had the audacity to come in and want to order something. He didn't welcome us, say hello or ask us what we would like. With every question we had (only 3) he became more and more exasperated. Once we ordered we didn't know where to pick up our drinks. I have this obsessive personality when it comes to non-alcoholic drinks. First, it was the vanilla latte from Coffee Bean. It got so bad that I ended up working @ the Old Town CBTL! Then, it was the caramel macchiato from Starbucks. Yes, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I'm sure the Starbucks shareholders are enjoying the thousands I've spent there. Next, it was the iced coffee from Lee's Sandwiches... a very inconvenient, gas-guzzling addiction as they don't have many locations -- ZERO west of Atlantic Blvd in Alhambra! Okay, after that, it was the iced green teas from TeaStation & the TenRen family. Whew! Last year, my oh so cute & trendy friend was like (in a valley Korean accent), you HAVE to have the vanilla latte from Peet's! We went on a Sat night when Garuda was the espresso of the day... and let me just say that I knew the location of every Peet's in the greater Los Angeles area by the next morning. I can't count the number of miles I've driven (OUT OF MY WAY) and the amount of time I've spent to get my hands on a vanilla latte w/ 2%. My only gripe is that they all close WAYYYYY too early. 9pm on a Friday night, Larchmont??? Wha-what??? About a year later now, my addiction is a bit more under control. I buy the Espresso Forte beans (one of my favorite smells on earth), make a few shots in my Bialetti, add a bit of Monin vanilla syrup, and steamed 2% milk. It's not the same as in the store, but it beats Starbucks & CBTL. If you are reading this, Mr. Peet, please open a downtown LA location!!! read more

One of the things I miss most about the Bay Area is Peet's. I'm happy to see that they're slowly expanding into Southern California. This branch has tons of free parking, and lots of seating inside and out. The coffee here is pricey, but comparable in price to other chains. As for quality, they leave Starbucks in the dust. read more

I love the caramel frap of this place. Definitely a better alternative to Starbucks. The place has decent amount of indoor space and if that is not enough room, the outdoor seating area is perfect, so long as the weathers good of course. I got hooked on Peets at Lake Ave and was excited when they opened this one. I don't know why they can't seem to serve coffee hot here. More often than not it's merely lukewarm. Then they changed bakeries and out went the good carrot bread. Not happy with their current pastries, but anything beats Starbucks I guess. But my biggest gripe is that the last four or five times I've gone, someone in the establishment (don't think its an employee either) has had a bad problem with body odor. Not really overpowering, but enough so every so often there's a sickening little whiff, right when you're taking a nibble off a pastry or taking a sip. Had to move outsid and brave the smokers. I don't know how they should address the problem but I suggest some customer or another needs to be kicked out. read more

I feel bad giving a two star reviews it to a place with such a high reviews but my experience was not great, the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed and openly stared at me when I was across from him. He seemed really impatient although no one was in line behind me. I ordered a double shot for my husband, and asked if there blended drinks could be made decaf. He gave me a quick yes and stared waiting for the rest of my order I guess I explained that I don't usually order blended drinks at that location and would try the mocha and caramel no whip decaf. He asked how I wanted my drink and I didn't understand he was referring to the milk, we are Coffee Klatch fanatics and are used to ordering my drinks from there. When I asked what he meant he gave another annoyed look and told me milk types. I asked for whole, paid, and he walked away, immediately getting on his phone. The ladies making drinks weren't nice or rude, espresso was good, my drink was terrible, weird consistency, last visit for me. read more

My cousin recommended Peet's to me and she claims that it's better than Coffee Bean and Starbucks. I decided to try and, boy, is she right! This place is amazing. From their service to their crafting of the beverages, I can honest say, they don't skip a beat. Their flavor is on par with my taste, not too sweet or bland. I also love how nice they are when you first arrive at their establishment, very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure their customers are happy when they get their drinks. read more

It's like a regular Peet's, nice staff, nice coffee, but the wifi signal is pretty unstable and keeps breaking. You would want to factor that in if you want to work here and requires stable internet access. Otherwise good. read more

Probably the best coffee in the San Gabriel Valley. I wish they had more stores. When I'm not in Pasadena, I really jones for this stuff. The flavor of all their coffees are amazing. The coffee here is not my taste preference, which is subjective, so I don't fault Peet's for that. The reason I give 2 stars is that whenever I've come to Peet's on East Foothill in Pasadena, I get a really weird feeling that I am a geek who has walked into the edgy cool kids section of the highschool cafeteria and that I am an intruder. I'm talking about not only the clientele but the people behind the counter. So I just go to S'bcks on the next block where I like the coffee better and the baristas seem like nice normal people. read more

I am from the Bay Area and I moved to LA being a huge fan of Peet's. I had no idea this one was here until I had to take my Camry in for service across the street! So I went to go get my favorite quad soy caramel latte in a medium cup. This guy Jeremiah (prolly spelled it wrong) made it perfectly! I don't know if he does it on purpose or if it is just a mistake but he somehow gets the soy milk to be creamy... yummm! So after a few times of ordering this I came in one day and this guy with a mohawk (who was obviously tapping into the caffeine supply a little too much) made the worst latte I have ever had! He heated the soy milk wayyy too hot (which changes the whole flavor of it). I didn't hold it against him though, when I went back and he was there I asked him if he could not heat the milk so hot. I walked out of there with a luke warm latte, almost like it had sat out on my desk for an hour or so. blah. The only guy I trust making my coffee is Jeremiah. The other day when I last went in there I asked him if he could make my drink, or at least heat the soy milk for me. He kind of grinned and said OK. He walked around and looked at the other guy making the drinks. Needless to say, he didn't make it. :( The guy making the drinks that day (I didn't get his name, light hair wearing a hat.. very descriptive, I know) used some other caramel I have never seen the other guys using so I asked if there was a difference. He told me in the future I need to request it because they don't usually use the other one. uhh.... I have never requested any thing in the past and they USUALLY use the other one! I really didn't like his attitude. He did end up remaking my drink and it honestly still wasn't that great. Jeremiah told me if its not good he would remake it for me... well, I really don't have the time to sit around while my drink gets made 3 times. So I guess I am just more upset that only one guy knows how to make a latte so the cafe in general is very inconsistent AND here I am paying almost $6 (in a recession mind you) for a stupid latte and get an attitude! In San Francisco where I used to go almost every day, I never had a bad attitude or a bad latte! Not going back! Oh and the frozen freddo whatevers are gross and so are the pastries! read more
