All of the wines I tasted at Anchored Roots were great, but especially the white wines. And of the…read morewhite wines I sipped, the La Crescent was my favorite. This really surprised me, because it's a semi-sweet wine and I don't like sweet wines! But apparently I like this sweet wine. It had notes of honeysuckle and lemon, and it was served chilled. It would make a good little bottle to sip in the summer. Wine tastings are only $10 for 5 tastes! Whatta deal. They also sell wine by the glass, or by the bottle to go. You can sit at the bar, or take your drinks to one of the tables, or even the patio if the weather is nice. There are some kids' toys and games around, because this winery is kid-friendly, which is cool. In fact, while I was there, a couple came in with their toddler and enjoyed a wine tasting while their kid quietly played. It was nice to see that parents can enjoy a quick wine break even with a kid in tow. During the tasting, I got to learn a little about the winery. They have a vineyard behind the winery where they grow their own grapes. They also get grapes from around Wisconsin and Washington state. This is a little family-run business, and the owners are super friendly and very dedicated to their craft.

100/10 recommend a stop here with your littles if you're in Door County! You can tell a lot of love…read moreand care goes into their operation here. I love that they emphasize this is not a petting farm; there is a lot of pride taken in giving these animals a dignified and happy life. We purchased a feed bucket with grain and carrots and fed the donkeys/horse and goats which our toddlers loved. We then headed over to the play area where they have oodles of imaginative play spaces setup with a little village that included a restaurant/vet/town store and then there's a barn and little house with tons of stuff inside of them for the kids to enjoy. There's also little tractors and tricycles for the kids to ride, push mowers, rocking horses. Tons of spots for adults to sit while the kids play (in shade too). They also have a very cute out house with a nice potty AND changing table with a real sink which is such a nice touch for families. Staff was fantastic and the price is so reasonable for all you get. We will absolutely be back!

When you buy the animal feed they tell you to go straight to the animals otherwise you'll get stuck in the play town forever. That was great advice as after we were done feeding the animals our kiddo was in heaven checking out the mini diner, grocery store, vet and more, riding on the child sized tractors and generally just having a ball. It was a great time, the perfect place to Brinn a picnic lunch & enjoy as the kids play. We will be back for sure!

We were here for a wedding and it is such an amazing, gorgeous spot! It's an old barn converted to…read morean art gallery with event spaces outside and inside. Just beautiful! During the reception we were able to wander through the art which was a nice experience. And I don't know how much the Gallery had to do with the food service and all that, but it everything about this wedding was absolutely seamless and absolutely on time. The food was amazing. My only quibble is that the seating was super tight for dinner. It felt like we were right on top of one another, but again, that's completely minor. The grounds are fantastic native grasses and flowers. I just can't get over how wonderful the entire experience was as a wedding guest.

The farm was originally built by our daughter's great-grandparents so had a special meaning to our family and friends. Joslyn was our day of wedding planner and made the entire experience seamless from beginning to end. Matt her husband also served as one of our bartenders. They are knowledgeable and have a very calm and centered approach to organization and execution of the entire wedding experinece. We had the dinner under the tent and the dance and party in the art barn. We would highly recommend! The Hanson family.
