Dr. Pourahimi seems to be a good dentist however her office is a mess. They told me they were in network with my dental insurance, but without informing me they went out of service right before my 1st appointment. After my husband and I had several cleaning over 1 and a 1/2 years we got billed for all the cleanings. Never were we told each time one of us went in that we would have to pay for cleanings that we would have had free if they were still in practice. When I told them it's not right to never tell us then bill us for several appts so much after those appts, I was threatened that if I don't pay I will be turned to collection. I was never informed of their change to go out of my insurance network but Dr Pourahimi said "it's hard to get good staff" as an excuse and insisted I pay for all the cleanings. I would have found a different dentist right away if they would have told me. This was such dishonest practice. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Pourrahimi! My entire experience has been nothing but exceptional! She is great about explaining everything to you and has some really neat tech in her office to show you everything going on in your mouth. She makes the experience actually fun which I never thought was possible at a dentist office. She's thorough and you can tell she really knows her stuff. She takes her time to make sure you're extremely comfortable and not in any pain at all. I'll be the first one to admit, I'm not the best at keeping up my teeth but I really feel like I'm in such good hands when I'm at her office! I want to start off this review with saying I used to work in a office in this same building and I kept hearing great things about Dr. Pourrahimi and her whole staff, and when my insurance changed I immediately booked an appointment here just based on word of mouth. This office far exceeded my expectations. Sandy the AMAZING assistant was so sweet and our conversation was great, Kaylee the receptionist was also so fantastic and called me before my appointment to inform me my insurance was verified and that everything would be covered 100% for my preventive/semi-annual visit. My X-rays showed a few slight cavities (which I expected to be honest cuz it had been while since I've seen a dentist) but Dr. Pourrahimi assured me that with proper action on my part that they can be corrected since they are very superficial. The cleaning went great, and she explained and educated me through it all. I have such a high standard for all my doctors, because I've worked in a medical office before, but again HER WHOLE OFFICE IS WONDERFUL, KIND, and very personable. 5 Stars ladies! Who has ever looked forward to going to the Dentist???? No, me either, until last year. Last year, based on a referral from a friend, I made an appointment to see Dr. Pegah Pourrahimi. From the moment I sat in her chair, and after 4 or 5 visits within this past year, until today, my teeth have never looked better, my gum health is perfection. I owe it all to Dr. Pegah Pourrahimi. I now gladly smile, and I no longer wonder if my teeth will be with me until the end...they absolutely will. Dr. Pegah Pourrahimi is without a doubt one of the loveliest people I've ever come in contact with. Her bedside manner is truly the best I have ever experienced. I feel sort of bad leaving a negative review for Dr. Pourrahimi, because she was so gosh darn NICE. If only her work was as positive as her personality. I originally went to Dr. Abri to have some very minor cavities filled on several easily accessible, top surfaces of my molars. Very basic, Dentistry 101 type stuff. This required 3 appointments total, the first 2 of which were serviced by Dr. Abri. At my last appointment, Dr. Abri was suddenly "unavailable" and so they sent in Dr. Pourrahimi to do my final 2 fillings. I should have gone with my gut and rescheduled right then. BIG MISTAKE. Dr. Pourrahimi simply lacks experience in patient care. The shots to my gumline were the most painful I've ever experienced, and she needed to perform several extra, poorly aimed attempts to sufficiently numb my mouth. The appointment also took longer than my two preceding appointments with Dr. Abri COMBINED. Worst of all, the work still feels bad, several months later, probably because she dug too close to the nerves. Now I'm stuck with intermittent pain and discomfort because I didn't have the balls to walk out on an amateur. I'm sure Dr. Pourrahimi be a great dentist someday, but today is not that day! Hallelujah! Praise the higher up- I FOUND A DENTIST!! I read the previous reviews before I went but decided to go anyway because she could see me at 6pm which is convenient with my work schedule. She has... how you say?- A GENTLE TOUCH! I'm sensitive and also every time I get a shot of novicane my heart races and I get anxiety. But Dr. Pegah (I thought that was her last name) was so calming. My appointment was weeks ago and I feel great! I had a few cavities and I needed a night guard. ANYWAY- I definitely recommend her to everyone! So this is the first review I have ever written on Yelp (or anywhere for that matter) but I felt compelled to because Dr. Pegah has done what I thought was impossible... She actually made me look FORWARD to going to the dentist! :). My Story. After Years of "it will get better if I just ignore it" attitude, I finally decided to man up and do something about my teeth. Years of neglect and subsequent embarrassment had kept me from going to the dentist as (well as smiling in pictures). When I would go, I felt that the various doctors sort of sat in judgement of me. Mostly it came in the way of deafening silence as they came in and saw my situation. They made me even more self conscious than I already was. So, after deciding to get my s...t together, I randomly found Dr. Pegah in my insurance preferred provider list and set an appointment. I sat there in crazy anxiety awaiting yet another round of disappointed based judgement from the doctor but what happened was the complete opposite! Dr. Pegah came in and instantly made me feel at ease. She treated me like a patient with perfect teeth would be treated and didn't once convey the feeling of disappointment or judgment in my situation. I instantly felt comfortable. I was aware that my teeth needed a lot of work and I was acutely self conscious about them but I felt like I could finally open up about it and talk to her openly and honestly about how I felt. It was like a huge weight was lifted and I started talking a mile a minute about my situation, how I got there, etc. She calmly and again, without judgement, went over the "Game Plan" on how to get my teeth back shape and made me feel like we were a 'team" ready to get my smile back! Throughout my treatments, Dr. Pegah was gentle, calming, and super supportive. When there was particularly complicated treatments, she had a team work with her to make sure it went as it should! Infact, she took it as personal challenge that she make everything perfect! Her attention to detail was amazing and It showed when it was all over. It was a long road, but I couldn't be happier with the results or with Dr. Pegah. She is now not only my favorite dentist but a good friend as well. I am fortunate that I haven't required a lot of dental care beyond preventative oral hygiene procedures. Yet the process has always been painless and simple with Dr. Pourrahimi's gentle touch! If you are looking for a $49 super special, just open your local Val-Pak, but if you truly want to find a Doctor and staff that can treat you and your family for years to come, this office might be the right place for you. Just left Dr. Pourrahimi's office. I have to say that she is as wonderful as everyone else has reviewed her to be. I am extremely particular for Dentist so I took my time to search around and the Yelp reviews on her were quite accurate. She is sweet and makes you feel quite at ease. Her office is beautiful, clean and her staff was also wonderful. Her new office ended up being rather far for me, but I really don't care. I will drive as far as I have to go see her again. I have finally found the BEST dentist who I found by chance from an advertisement for Invisaligns. I am one of those who had an extreme fear of dentists. Not any more. A Wonderful Dental Experience! As soon as you enter the office the friendly welcome and wonderful experience begins. I arrived today to have my teeth cleaned for the first time at this office. The office is very clean and has modern amenities. The hygienist Jill and Dentist Dr. Pourrahimi work well as a team. Jill was very friendly and clear in explaining the services that would be performed during my visit. Dr. Pourrahimi was extremely thorough, courteous and nurturing about what she was doing every step of the way. The x-rays, examination and cleaning process performed by the Impressive Duo was gentle, painless and very comfortable. I was in and out of the office in under an hour. I just read the review by Alex M. and I have to say that my situation is very similar. I just went to Dr. Pourrahimi this morning, and I had a fantastic experience! "Dentist" and "fantastic experience" are two phrases I never thought I would say in the same sentence. My story: Prior to this mornings visit with Dr. Pourrahimi the last time I went to the dentist was 2004. Yes, 10 years! My fear, anxiety, and self consciousness kept me away for so long! The longer I waited, the worse my anxiety got, so I stayed away even more. Just like Alex M. I felt a kind of judgement about my teeth when I would see other doctors. Also, I knew that my wisdom teeth needed to be extracted, and I just never got around to wanting to hear the BAD NEWS. So, as mentioned above, I put off my visitation for TEN FREAKING YEARS. My girlfriend found a Groupon and visited Dr. Pourrahimi first and could not stop telling me how I should go and "it will be great!" Alas, I agreed to go and set up my appointment. My X-rays, exam, and cleaning went off without a hitch! No pain - at all - ever. Dr. Pourrahimi was ultra nice and so was her professional staff. I literally left there smiling, because I felt like I needlessly held on to this anxiety for so long. It was seriously a weight lifted off my shoulders. I still need to take care of my wisdom teeth, but thats a whole other ballgame and specialist. At least now with the experience from Dr. Pourrahimi I feel more confident to face that procedure. I bought a Groupon for a cleaning and X-ray since I wanted to find a closer dentist, than the one I have been seeing for 25 years in Encino. Dr. Pegah was extremely sweet and professional and the office is beautiful. The cleaning and check up went smoothly. Then, the downside. After my x-rays were reviewed, I was informed I had several, I mean several cavities and also told my current 3 or 4 older fillings needed to be replaced. This came as a shock to me, as I ALWAYS have great check ups and do everything I am supposed to do. Dr quoted me for all of the work that was needed in a hand written treatment plan, for a HUGE dollar amount. My first sign of concern was the amount of cavities and then the handwritten treatment plan along with the HUGE price tag. With all of the new technology in the office, this came as a surprise to me. I asked for the x-rays to be sent to me, which she did. I sent them to my dentist of 25 years and went in for an exam and I only had 1 cavity. He said the fillings he filled were just fine and everything else she said on the treatment was completely unnecessary. I find it unfortunate because I believe she has potential to be an outstanding dentist, but might need some more practice and experience under her belt before presenting patients with these extreme treatment plans. Looks like I will continue to drive to Encino, but it's worth it to me (and my wallet!) read more

Pegah Pourrahimi is a wonderful dentist. I went to visit her office as referred by a friend, and the first impression was wonderful. The staff is great and very nice, the chairs and equipment are very high-tech. The chairs even had massage and heating settings!! After returning a second time to get some cavities filled I would definitely recommend this dentist to any and all who need any dental work done. read more
