I went here because I was unhappy with a previous dentist. The dentist not only took time out of his busy schedule to go over my xrays, my charges, and give me advise, he also knew I had maxed out my insurance so he gave me a highly discounted rate for a crown. The staff here is very competent and friendly. Shannon, the office manager, is smart and very good at her job. Natalie at the front, and the hygienist who did my deep cleaning (can't remember her name) are a pleasure to deal with. I'm so grateful I found an in network dentist who gets you in quickly and compassionately! They were very understanding of my phobia and reaction. They were supportive, explained our insurance plan and benefits as it pertains to the work I needed. I was misled at several other practices that never told me I was out of network and that's why we were getting charged for cleanings, implants, extractions, they just tried to tell me that was what my plan would pay for and that I needed to pay the balance-very shady etc.. plus the office is clean and bright. They have an endodontist and periodontist on staff. You won't get sent somewhere else to get a root canal or extraction. The office staff and dentist are professional, helpful and so kind. For a minute earlier this year, this dental office accepted Medi-cal patients, so I referred a family member who was receiving torturous, medieval care at another local dentist office (speeding through procedures, 2nd guessing their own policies, not routinely having appropriate specialists, not approving certain work timely b/c waiting to do a root canal gives them more $, no novocaine or numbing products when drilling, a less-than-5-minute cleaning, dropping tools in her mouth, etc). This office took their time, fixed some of the other dental office work, and made her comfortable. Not a fan of this dentist. They are not gentle at all. Really rough and forceful. Feels like I'm being worked on by a plumber or a car mechanic. Every time I come out of there, my mouth is in pain for a week after. Also, the music they play is really obnoxious. Loud techno dance music. I've asked them to turn it down, but they just crank it back up again. It's a really unpleasant experience. I would not recommend them at all. Looking for someone new. read more

Honestly if you're on the fence on booking an appointment....do it now and then come back and read the rest of my review because you absolutely will not be disappointed! Anyways, I was someone who was traumatized by the dentist almost all my life because of a gnarly root canal and didn't get a regular check up after that for longer than I like to admit. Fast forward to 2021 and that root canal-ed tooth broke and I finally had to get the courage to go back to the dentist....shame and all. Found Newbury Dental because of reviews from patients who has similar stories to mine I was sold. And now after my experience over the past year with them, I can confidently say they have greatly exceeded any expectations I had. Why you ask? 1) From start they are not judgmental and just want to help you get your dental health back on track, where ever it is at. The make you feel like nothing they see can scare them off or haven't seen before and make you feel very comfortable. 2) They are VERY clear with your plan of action on what they recommend & why they recommend it in the first appointment. And will even start with said treatment if they have time in that very appointment, with your permission of course! They also never felt "salesy" or pushed to do anything I didn't want or felt was unnecessary. 3) NO PAIN. Ok so they have taken 2 wisdom teeth out, filled probably 4-5 cavities, extracted my broken root canal, gave me a bone graph & inserted the first part of my implant with 0 pain at all and I walk out like almost nothing happened. They're also very clear with after care instructions and follow up appointments to make sure any healing is going ok. 4) The staff is amazing. Love my hygienist, the dental assistant and the front desk gals who are super knowledgeable about benefits and what to expect cost wise. I first heard of this word by mouth group from a friend who found his peace of mind here as well. A lot of us don't think that the routine checkups we are receiving or the cosmetic dentistry we receive to cover the things we want to shield from the rest of the world, could be the actual thing that's killing us. Had a friend not told me to come here. I'd have been dead. I walked into Dr. Peyman's office and from the get go it's got a fun vibrant atmosphere and the ladies who work there are so, so caring. Shannon and Natalie actually cared about me and my situation, and I could tell were really listening to everything I was telling them. I had read that this place can save you from a trip to the ER... and after looking at my X-rays... I'm not sure how the last dentist hadn't already put me there. I saw immediately on the screen why I had rejected both of my implants. They measured why one didn't work-- it needed to be a whole 1.5 mm apart. The other... they explained why food kept getting caught with the odd placement of the rod... Finally. I felt validated. I felt heard. Everything I had been telling the last dentist... to stop. That something was wrong. Was ignored. Entirely. He just kept going. I was nothing more than $$ to him and I started losing weight fast. After losing 100 lbs, Dr Peyman was my last hope, and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made. If you are on the fence about trying this type of dentistry. Don't be one bit. I've been to several dentists in the area and they have all been ok but not great. The first time I called I talked with Sam at the front desk and she was a total sweetheart! Think...Mom-vibe that's got it all under control. Dr. Sam is my dentist and he is so good natured he literally cracks me up every time I see him. He really makes everything feel so much more lighthearted and easy versus any other dentist I've seen. He filled a cavity of mine so quickly and checked in on me during the process in a way that made me feel very taken care of versus the typical way dentists ask you that makes you feel like "wait...am I ok????" My hygienist does an incredible job cleaning my teeth. She's super sweet yet speedy which is perfect! I had a piece of an old metal retainer (like 20 years old that's affixed to the inside of my lower teeth) that was poking out and bugging me. She told Dr. Sam about it after my routine cleaning and they fixed it for no charge right then and there! That stupid thing had been bugging me for months!!! If you don't have insurance their cash rates are excellent and they give you all your treatment options so you can decide which makes most sense for you. I'm the WORST patient. Like ever. And I allowed myself to crack an old filling and put off going to the dentist for way too long. What a nightmare. Things started looking up when I called the office. They made time for me to come in right away and the team running the front of house could not have been more understanding and kind. The office is beautiful, spotless and staffed with highly skilled, experienced pros. I ultimately needed a root canal (which I had figured because hot and cold temps brought on pain in my tooth) but I was at ease knowing the Dr and team were taking exceptional care of me. And no one judge me for being a total moron about coming in sooner. Once we started the procedure, I so appreciated Dr. Peyman telling me that he has "one rule" - his patients are not allowed to be in pain. So if I feel anything I need to raise my hand so he can give me more local. Ahh. I've never had a dentist be so willing to take extra steps just to make sure I was super comfortable. Halfway through I started to feel a little tingling and raised my hand and he happily and promptly gave me another *painless* injection. Everyone was incredibly gentle, careful and worked quickly. And after he finished up, I was so happy to see the results are PERFECT!! The last thing is the biggest one for me. Throughout the procedure, the Dr only ever spoke to his dental assistant and staff with genuine gratitude and appreciation. Every ask for suction or an instrument was prefaced with a "please" and followed with a "thank you". That's the true sign of genuine professionalism, being kind and appreciative when most are not. My son had to have a full mouth extraction and get dentures until he heals then will get permanents. That was in 2019 my son is doing great! My husband needed an emergency root canal and they found an Infection deep in the tooth and took care if that with something they put in to fill the hole they found and got some antibiotics. I had a tooth broken off during the MLK day. All the dentists were unavailable except for Newbury Dental Group. The tooth was root canaled and crown, so this break was very bad. I ended up needing to get an implant. I was prepare for it. However, I didn't prepare for the tooth to be very brittle that the extraction became very complicated. Dr. Peyman took 3 hours to remove it right. He tried to be as gentle and least invasive as possible. He listen and answers all my concern during the procedure. I'm very glad to come to this office. So far my extraction went as well as it could have given the circumstances. It's been 2 days since the ordeal, and I don't feel pain anymore. The site is very clean. I booked an appointment for teeth cleaning at this office. I was a new patient so I came 15 minutes earlier to fill out paperwork. This office is very well lit and has a really comfortable seating area. I love how clean it is. I didn't wait long at all before I was called in. Jennifer was my dental hygienist and she's amazing. We first did x-rays which were fast and simple. To be honest, I hate going to the dentist. Jennifer made sure I was comfortable. She was gentle with the tools but for some reason my teeth were super sensitive. She put on a numbing gel which made it 100x better. After the cleaning was all done, Doctor Peyman came in to examine my teeth. He ended up correcting some things that the previous dentists' work. I was in and out in less than 1 hour. The hygienist gave my teeth a thorough cleaning and made suggestions on how to brush more effectively. I was seen by Dr. Peyman. He has a personable demeanor and a good sense of humor. Although there is much room for improvement, he did not make me feel like I had the most neglected teeth he's ever seen! He explained his findings and recommendations clearly.
