I had some high hopes here and found them to be higher than they should have been. The Buffalo Wings were good. Baked with seasonings and topped with a good heat sauce. Cooked with a little char from the high heat oven House Special Pizza was good but nothing super special. Had some good flavor with a bit of weird after taste. Perhaps the pre-cut onion & bell pepper was the culprit but not quite sure. Didn't have much spice in the sauce but the pepperoni/sausage combo was spot on and just the right amount of cheese. Thought about dessert but opted not. Overall I like the amount of toppings to the fresh made pizza but the lingering after taste needs to go away. Better to use the fresh sliced toppings for these pizzas. Pre cut just doesn't have the same flavor. read more

We ordered via delivery service. Got 2 large cannibal pizzas. Cost via Uber eats was $96.87 for 2 pizzas. We ordered from Peggy's because of high reviews. Was a mistake, as the pizza was not very tasty/favorable, and it was dry and bland tasting. The crust was not very good either. We ended up eating only one of the pizzas that evening. Ordered from the web a few nights ago and finally finished up all of my food today during the Superbowl. For starters: the ordering process was very easy on the web. No issues whatsoever. We ordered some cheddar and mozz cheese bread with jalapenos. It was amazing. The edges were crispy, cheese was a little burnt, but it was great. The bbq chicken pizza was cooked well, plenty of cheese, wish there had been a bit more sauce. But there was a ton of chicken. We also ordered a heart attack pizza with alfredo sauce. Also very good. A ton of bacon. Again wishing there was more sauce though. Lastly the stromboli, ordered with mushrooms, sausage, and banana peppers. Easily the star of the entire order. Bread was cooked very well. All ingredients were plentiful. Highly recommend eating everything the day of while it is hot, due to the lack of sauce - it does not reheat well and cold it gets very dry. We were in Natchitoches for a few days and decided to try Peggy's on our first night. The pizza was amazing - quite possibly the best we've ever had. Pizza is actually cooked in the oven the entire time - not steamed in a bag like chain pizza restaurants. The crust was fantastic. The restaurant itself is a quaint little place, and the waitress was very friendly. We liked it so much we went back a few days later to try the lasagna. It was a hit, as were the triple chocolate cheesecake and the cherry cheesecake. read more

Finally got to try out this small pizza joint. I was not disappointed, it was great! Although a small joint they were busy the entire time time with so much traffic coming in and out to pick up pizza and it looked like they were making deliveries as well, as well as the tables inside staying 50% occupied. The service was good and the pizza was great. We ordered the heart attack and was allowed to substitute the red onions for pineapple. We also ordered one to our liking, a small calzone, and to start it all off an appetizer of mozzarella, spinach, & garlic breadsticks. Everything was good. Really enjoyed the crust on everything! Quaint place yet amazing pizza!! We were traveling through and looking for dinner - kid friendly options but not fast food. Thank goodness for yelp! We had two half and half pizzas: the New Orleans and Mommas favorite and the kids Cheese and Pepperoni. Crust was perfect amount of crispy and soft, toppings were a perfect balance, I've never had shrimp with Cajun seasoning on a pizza ... they got this right! Oh and the salads were fresh. We would definitely go back, even my parents were impressed with the food. Parking is slim but if you're towing a trailer and a RV there is a bank with a huge parking lot just across the street. Get the calzones or the strombolis!!! My friend and I visited my boyfriend and he took us to Peggy's to eat. We looked over the menu, but pictures on Yelp showed delicious pictures of the calzones. You get three toppings of your choice in the calzone/stromboli. I don't know if it's written in the menu but adding an extra topping is 75¢. I got pineapple, Canadian ham, onions, and mushrooms in mine. Delicious. We were confused about the difference between a Stromboli and a calzone; basically it's the shape and the crispness of the shell. Strombolis look like a giant hot pocket and are super crispy. Anyways. The staff was SO friendly, and the food was piping hot - you could tell it was fresh made. Don't come here if you're in a rush because they hand make everything (therefor takes a while), but this was an amazing restaurant. read more

I didn't really know what to expect when I decided to try out Peggy's...but it was cozy little pizza place that met and exceeded my expectations. From the outside (and inside), it looks like an old house that has been converted into a restaurant; however, it wasn't cramped or awkward like some who attempt this type of make-over. We sat in a booth close to the door and were immediately greeted by our waiter. In typical fashion, I asked what the crowd favorite was (and what he likes). He offered some suggestions, but they weren't anything uncommon. I decided to go with an 8" calzone. They offer both an 8" and 12" versions and also offer both whole wheat and regular crust. I went with a regular 8", and my dining companion ordered an 8" whole wheat Stromboli. Both were great! The calzone came with melted butter on the crust which gave it a nice taste. It was also crispy, cooked well, and the toppings were generous and fresh. I was so full that I saved half of my calzone for later (glad I got the 8"). This was such a treat! Best pizza I have had in a very long time. We had the Hawaiian and the I'm Hungry. Both were just amazing! Fresh pineapple covered the Hawaiian and the cheese they use (part - skimmed mozzarella ) was perfectly melted. It seems that I've eaten pizza all over the Midwest and South, and most pizza is generally adequate. There are times when my taste buds catch a flicker of excitement like when I had Pizza Luce's in Duluth, Davanni's in Minneapolis, Damgoode pies in the Little Rock area, and Square Pizza in a Kansas City suburb. For some reason, I'm thinking Lawrence. Nevertheless, I have always lamented to my wife that we are unable to get good pizza in the Shreveport area. They are improving as I think Rotolo's is pretty good, but I want pizza that leaves an indelible mark on my psyche. I want a pie that will brand its excellence on my mind. I think I found one of those gems in Natchitoches. I never imagined I'd find that place essentially in my backyard. The place was recently relocated to what used to be a residence. It's nothing fancy, but I'm never looking for fancy. I'm looking for food. The thin crust surprised me as there was an outer crust to hold. Apparently, they curl up the edges to make a nice handle. The toppings were of excellent quality and were in a nice ratio. Ever have the pizza with too many olives? It can have a deleterious effect on you. I was satisfied with just pizza, but the family wanted to try the cinnamon sticks. Never have I sampled such a treat. The dough is folded, so there are actual layers within the breadsticks. The outside is crunchy while the inside is toothsome. Very satisfying as you dip them into the icing. I tend to be critical of the food I eat, whether it's at a restaurant or if I beat myself up the rest of the night because I get distracted and cook my steak medium rare instead of rare. (That really raises my hackles.) Peggy's is easily one of my top 10 favorite pizza restaurants. We are still in town, so we might swing back for some more cinnamon sticks. read more

I am in town for a business trip and try to eat as locally as possible. Peggy's had a great selection of pizza for the meat lovers and the vegetarians! I ordered Mama's Favorite Breadsticks. They are layered with cheese, artichokes, and tomatoes; the perfect combo! Not too much cheese and perfectly garlic-y. I also got the chicago-style, which was spinach, mushroom and garlic. Again, it was the perfect size for one person, thin crust, and cooked to a browned perfection. This is a great place to support your local vendors. They are super nice and helpful, and even have a dine-in area if you want to get out of the house/hotel room for a while.
