I came for the garlic shrimp pizza and it was amazing. I had a similar version in Florida and haven't seen shrimp pizza on many menus so was glad to try it. I like the atmosphere here. It has both low and high top tables and bistro tables outside. The service was great, as well. Finally tried this place. Decent pizza. Better than any of the Franchise joints. I made my own: Alfredo sauce, chicken, fresh mozzarella, spinach, mushroom, & garlic. Plenty of sauce & toppings. Good crust, not too crispy with a bit of chew that I liked . The fresh minced garlic really elevated it up a notch. Have 1/2 a pie for a 2nd meal so decent value too. Thinking it would be nice to share a pie with a friend or the hubby......if we can agree on a pie. I really liked the variety of iced tea choices too. Not everyone wants soda. I'm willing to visit again to try another pie before deciding whether or not to add this place to my roster. For now I still prefer the pizza at Embers. $13.20 for pizza and a drink. read more

This place is so good! It's apparently on a bunch of lists for some of the best pizza in Louisiana and I'll say I agree. The entire pizza has that perfect wood fired taste and I love the consistency of the crust--not too thick and not too thin. I've heard that their menu pizzas are delicious (definitely need to come back to try one), but I always end up getting a build your own pizza: pesto base, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, caramelized onions, and mushrooms. Total for that comes to around $8-9 which I think is pretty affordable! Even better is that they do $5 pepperoni pizzas every Monday. I'm from out of town and am only visiting Alexandria for a month-- I'll definitely be missing this place when I leave. read more

I came here because I was craving a place like Mod or Blaze and this seemed to be a local version of it. I liked that it was a local place and there seems to be a really nice community vibe here. When I got my pizza, it was about 3/4 the size of one at the similar build-your-one places. I got cauliflower crust, which didn't taste like cauliflower at all (I'm wondering if maybe they gave me the gluten free crust instead of cauliflower, because I've bought and made cauliflower crust and this definitely tasted like bread). I also don't like how you get '6 toppings' but cheese and sauce are included in those, so you really only get 4 toppings, whereas at a place like Blze/Mod, it's unlimited. I got artichoke hearts, broccoli, garlic, and mushrooms. The mushrooms/broccoli were nice and definitely didn't taste frozen. The artichoke heart was peeled/cut up, so I couldn't really taste it (looked like maybe 1 or 2 artichoke hearts cut up throughout the whole pizza) and I didn't see any visible garlic on the pizza anywhere. The pizza came to $13 (because of the upgraded crust), but I definitely didn't feel like it was worth that. Overall, I felt my pizza was pretty mediocre, although way better than a chain like Pizza Hut, etc. I would possibly give this place a second chance if I was in the area and craving pizza (I think it's probably the best option), but it definitely wasn't the quality I was expecting based on other reviews and pictures. read more

Pizza for lunch was our request and Wildwood did not disappoint ! My husband had visited them for lunch and decided to take us. Place was clean, social distancing practiced at all times and staff were using mask as we were. Outdoor seating available (shaded). Their menu was amazing, kid friendly options and also you have the option to build your own. They also offered salads which looked amazing .They had sweet tea for the kids and beer and wine for the adults. We ordered the Garden District, The Beast & Pepperoni Pizza for the little one. $5.44 for a wood fired pepperoni pizza sounds like a steal. But I am not totally sure what the point of a wood fired oven is if your pizza is kinda meh. Tomato sauce was weirdly sweet. Had the Garden salad for lunch. I asked to add shrimp and red onion. I also requested both of their ranches. The Salad was large and cost was just under $13. I didn't get the Asiago cheese or any cheese that is said to be included. I suppose because one of the ranches had blue cheese in it? Wasnt sure. There were No croutons or crackers shrimp had no seasoning. The Salad dressing is amazing and the size of the salad is great just be specific and it may cost for any extras. My husband and I have eaten here twice as we were traveling thru town. Both times we ordered the pick your own style pizza. Pizza was good, crust is good. Service is good too, but a little slow, maybe it's just how long the pizza takes. We will probably eat here again. This last time place was pretty busy with big groups, lots of kids kind of running around making noise after some sort of sports game.
