    Sinatra Room
    Linda O.

Decorated festively for the holidays with an elegant design, it automatically elevates your mood. We sat in the Sinatra room, which is the place to be if the horses are racing. We went at 5:30 ( get reservations) to take advantage of the Friday Fish Fry special. The cracker crumb baked fish fry is consistently delicious. The beer battered fish fry fills the plate and is a staple for western NY. The pricing for early bird dinner ($13) is very affordable. All the servers are friendly and attentive. Definitely a go to place whenever I'm in Batavia

first time going here - definitely will be back! really good food, impressed coming from an italian family. the service was pretty good considering we were a party of 9. everyone's meal was good: the alfredo was good but very creamy.

This was a nice option while spending the night at Batavia downs. It's very convenient being inside the building and reservations can be made in advance. It was not very busy so it was quiet and we were not rushed through the meal, in fact I do wish the server came around more often with it not being busy. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes but I wish salad would be included with the dinner, even if the prices were higher because it is just annoying to always have to order and pay for things à la carte. Overall Its a great option to dine at.

We came for my birthday and the Kansas concert and I was very disappointed in the service and the food. The food came out very late and was cold and the service was slow and barely at our table. Even after asking to see our server it took upwards of 15 minutes for Red to come over. The food tasted good but it was cold and it was not made as requested. My mother in law asked the server at least three times to heat up her food and to correct what was wrong and it either took very long and or it was still cold. Very displeasing The ambiance was okay. It wasn't too crowded or that busy. The lighting was good. No natural lighting rather all ceiling lights. I will not be coming back to fortunes because of the poor quality of service and the food being cold.

Have dined here for dinner several times recently, typically on Sunday afternoon. Service has been wonderful, personable and professional. Each time our waiter, Red, has made sure we were well taken care of. When in this area we seek out this largely due to the excellent service. Not to be outdone, the quality and variety of the food has also been outstanding. The value for the price is also quite reasonable. We will certainly return and highly recommend this restaurant.

Thanksgiving 2023 Dinner: The Thanksgiving dinner "essentials" were here, very good!

I have been to Fortune's a few times for holiday-related meal and have been very happy with the experiences! I have been here for meals during Easter 2023 and Thanksgiving 2023, as well as a one-off Friday fish fry, with family and each experience was great. We have always had a reservation when dining here, which makes for simple, smooth experience. The staff have always been courteous, friendly, making sure we were taken care of throughout our meals. It is pretty spacious in the dining area and is surprisingly isolated from the Batavia Downs casino - I did not hear any noises of the machines from the casino floor. The food itself is very good with generous portions. You will most likely be taking some of your meal home (unless you have a big appetite, like me haha). As for prices, they seem high, but like I said earlier, you get very generous portions and the quality of food is good! So, if you are in Batavia and looking for a nice, sit-down meal, and do not mind going into Batavia Downs, give Fortune's a chance!

Came here with my mom for dinner, made reservations as recommended by the staff. Glad we did the place was very busy. Our server Terri was amazing, very personable and funny. I started out with local IPA, very tasty. Our appetizer was the crab and spinach dip with tortilla chips. Very creamy and filling. I went with their French onion soup, it was good. Mom went with prime rib and a loaded baked potato. Really enjoyed their bread and garlic butter too. Prices were reasonable

Came here for dinner before the harness races. Was disappointed the Sinatra room was closed to the general public for a Rolling Stones package they offer ... this is the room that overlooks the track. We missed the first couple of races eating. The restaurant was clean and nice! Our server Tammi was such a delight! My friend ordered the chicken French and loved his food. I had some of his because my portion was so small I was still hungry. I ordered the 6oz filet mignon which came out only about 3oz so I was still pretty hungry. The mashed potatoes and gravy were great! But for $45 it just wasn't enough food. The house salad and dressing were nothing special either.

Nice restaurant steps from the casino floor. We were seated in the Sinatra room which really was ok. Not as nice as the main dining room. We were seated near the window. It would be a perfect spot when there is a horse race. It was a bit chilly and I asked to move away from window as I saw an open table in the other room. I was told there was not a table. Well that empty table stayed empty the whole time we ate dinner and even when we left. I was a bit disappointed. I ordered French onion soup as I figured it would warm me up. It didn't really have much of a taste. Shrimp cocktail was good. My dinner was always very good and tasty. The bread was so good with the garlic butter. Service was great. We never got our $10 free play. I didn't know anything about it until I read some reviews. Next time I would make a reservation and specify the main room as it is a bit more elegant.

The food is good. Service is friendly, but also a bit on the slower side. Fortune's reminded us of Olive Garden. I ordered the eggplant Parm with spaghetti and my husband had the lasagna which he enjoyed very much. We also ordered a bottle of Sangria which we both enjoyed. Guests receive free play for dining at Fortune's.

The place had a nice ambiance with a sculpture and indoor pond as soon as you walk in the door. They were also playing nice, soft music you can enjoy your meal to. They have a very large selection of food on their buffet, ranging from some of your traditional American Chinese choices such as fried rice, lo mein noodles, chicken and broccoli, etc. They also offer a host of your more traditional American foods such as pizza, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. They also offer a nice selection of different sushi rolls. All of the food seems nice and fresh, with steam coming off most of the food. I thought the taste of the food was pretty good. Everything tasted fresh and had good flavors to it. I personally didn't have any, but my wife said the Mac and cheese was not very good, tasting like "noodles soaked in milk". The sushi had good flavors to it, and the rice seemed fresh (not hard like some sushi rolls that sit out for a while at a buffet). The staff were very attentive, grabbing our used plates at our table, and bringing us refills on the drinks. It also seemed like there was always a member of staff going around the buffet making sure all of the food was staying fresh, and refilling the food that was getting low. We overall had a great experience and definitely will be back in the future!

First, I want to give credit where it is due Antoinette our waitress, was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, respectful, and did her best to provide good service despite the environment she was working in. Mrs Brown was also very sweet and kind, and both of them carried themselves professionally. Now with that said, everything else about this visit was unacceptable. The overall aesthetics of this location were horrible. The carpet was visibly dirty, the entire establishment smelled extremely unpleasant, and at times it had an odor that was honestly nauseating. It gave off a strong impression of poor sanitation and lack of upkeep. For a place that serves food, that is completely unacceptable especially for a public dining environment. What makes this even worse is that I brought residents with me, and I felt embarrassed and concerned the entire time. This is not a setting that feels safe, clean, or appropriate for vulnerable individuals. It was uncomfortable, unwelcoming, and frankly disgusting. No matter how good the service from Anita and Miss Brown was, it cannot make up for how poorly maintained this restaurant is. Cleanliness is not optional in the food industry it is the bare minimum and this location failed badly. I would not recommend this establishment until serious improvements are made to cleanliness, maintenance, and overall environment.

My favs were the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, and surprisingly the steak, it was a cheap cut but the chef cooked it great. The bread pudding was great, but my kids found hair in the ice cream and the salad, it was black hair when my kids are blonde. The floors, bathrooms, tables and chairs were very dirty and the food area is not up-kept and there was food everywhere. The drinks were flat and the lemonade was gross. It's not a fancy place so I kind of expected this, sad but true.

We also cashed in our points that were on our card to save a few more dollars, so we paid $30 total for the two of us, with non alcoholic drinks included. Now, of all of that, the macaroni salad and the pretzel stick were good. The rest was just ok. There was also pimento macaroni and cheese, but I really didn't like that. And I didn't do the pasta station this time, but that is usually good. Like all buffets, it changes, so everything isn't available each time you go. On the dessert bar, there is an Oreo pie that I really like. I usually go get that first to make sure I get a piece, lol. Of the whole buffet, that is the one thing that I truly like. Everything is ok, but nothing is amazing. The pie is really good though. My husband is not vegetarian, and he is really why we come here. There's a much bigger selection for him, and I know he had prime rib. That was probably all he needed to be happy. :) I just found out that they have a brunch until 3pm on the weekends. There's another buffet in the area that people generally like, but I've never been there. We visited Amherst Buffet last in September 2023 to check out their new location. I don't really know why, but we never went back. After today's visit, maybe I know why. They moved again! This time they took over the building where the Chinese grocery store used to be--Ni Hoowa. We were very curious and couldn't wait to see inside after the transformation. On Thursday around lunch time, this place was packed. It was shocking to see it, because there is a very large dining room area and it was almost fully occupied. I asked about a booth, and the hostess actually spent some time finding one for us in the perfect spot. I should start my review by saying that all the servers, and working crew were very nice and friendly. The food looked good. For lunch, there were typical dishes, nothing crazy. From two kinds of soup (hot and sour was nothing special), appetizers, lots of chicken, some pork, shrimp, fish, clams, of course rice, noodles (even Shrimp Alfredo). Also I saw pizza, fries, fried chicken looked awesome, wings, mac & cheese, etc. Let's not forget about desserts and fruits. The melons were perfectly ripe and delicious. If you enjoy Chinese Buffets, be sure to stop by and check this place out for yourself. I'm certain that at this price point, you'll have nothing to lose. The visit could turn out to be a really fun experience. I almost forgot, there is also a Hibachi Station on-site where a chef prepares dishes to order. What actually turned us off was 'Salt Overload'. Why do they use so much salt?! It's possible to avoid the most sugary sauces, but salt? The food would be tastier without too much salt, or MSG? (OMG!). The sushi was also a disappointment. There was hardly any of it during our stay, and what I did try wasn't good. One day I would definitely check Amherst Buffet during dinner hours, just to see what's cooking. P.S. Today was the official last day of school for students so that's why this place was full of families and kids. They celebrated :).

I thought I'm going to have to check this place out for myself. So here's what I discovered. The food is okay, not amazing but just okay. Probably the lowest priced breakfast I have seen in Niagara Falls. They do not offer you free water, it's all bottled. Coffee is 4 bucks, which is pretty standard. I think the modus operandi is this: they get you in with the cheap buffet and then up charge you for anything else you want to order. Which I get, the buffet is always a loss leader, and they get you on the drinks which are marked up significantly. So let's talk about the buffet itself. Based on what I read from the other reviews, the hot ticket would be to get there right when it opens. That way the food has just come out, it's fresh and hot, and there is enough of it. I had the eggs, the sausage, and a piece of French toast and a waffle. I did go back for seconds to get a bowl of fruit, and try out the tater tots. The food was okay. Again, not the greatest I've ever had and not the worst I've ever had. It was a perfunctory breakfast. But again I tell you you need to get the right when they open to get the best stuff. Would I go here again? I don't think so. There are plenty of other places in Niagara Falls that are way better for just a little bit more money. However, if you have a group of people you're trying to feed on the cheap, this is a place to go. Case in point while I was there, two busloads of Mennonites came in and swarmed the buffet. Bottom line? It's a cheap breakfast, and you will walk out of there for under 20 bucks if you just have a coffee.
