Decent place for Chinese food, take out or eat in at reasonable prices. I've gotten takeout from Peking Chinese Restaurant a few times since they offer 27 Luncheon Specials ($5.50-$5.70) and 25 Dinner Combinations ($7.55-$7.95). They also serve Chef Specials such as Sesame Beef, Pan Fried Noodles, Crispy Aromatic Shrimp and others ($9.50-$12.50). The General Tso's Chicken, Chicken Fingers, and the Shrimp Lo Mein are decent. While I wait for my food, there are free local tourist newspapers to read and coin candy dispensers near the counter, a great energy pick me up after a quick jog. I did not see the little guy on the last visit.

    This is my "orange chicken"

the woman told me it was because the cornstarch didnt cover it. I legit thought I was gonna throw up. I gave the plate back, i literally ate about 3 bites and they didnt even offer my money back.

    Nice little place

Chicken fingers were a little rubbery. Bland won ton soup. The girl at the counter was very nice. Good customer service. Great prices. Still love my favorite place Saigon Tokyo in Dover NH

This review is long overdue -- it was the hot & sour soup that pushed me over the edge. I typically…read morejudge Chinese restaurants based on the quality of their eggrolls; if they pass the first test, I might venture so far as to test their hot & sour soup, and I can't believe I waited this long to do so. The broth was rich and thick (but not gummy or gelatinous), and layered with flavor -- that alone is enough to keep me coming back. But then they went on to add all the requisite ingredients that make it so delicious -- tofu, pork, wood ear, mushrooms, bamboo shoots. Truly, one of the best renditions I've ever had, and I've even made it myself. Here's what else they can do: 1. The BEST lo mein in the area -- no joke. Flat, linguine-style noodles, veggies, and your choice of meat (the roast pork is excellent, but I usually go for the house special, which has chicken, pork, beef, and a generous amount of shrimp). I could seriously eat this every day. I'm skeptical of this dish at other establishments, having been let down on multiple occasions by limp, greasy noodles and not much else. The Wok Express lo mein is a meal in and of itself. 2. The eggs rolls are darned good. Tightly rolled, golden brown -- a little greasy, but isn't that why we're here? You can order a single egg roll, but why do that to yourself? 3. Moo shu. I had it tonight for the first time, and it did not disappoint. The wrappers were a little thinner than I'm used to, but they held their own. They pack the moo shu (and lo mein) so tightly into the container that you can eat half, come back the next day, and it's filled to the top again. 4. Shrimp with garlic sauce. I typically don't venture into seafood at Chinese restaurants until they have proven themselves in other ways. I order the shrimp with garlic sauce about a year ago for the first time, and now it's a favorite. The shrimp are very large, plump, and perfectly cooked, served in a savory sauce with a little bit of a kick and lots of fresh veggies. 5. Dinner combinations. I'm not going to lie; I used to patronize another local restaurant for takeout, but whenever I was alone and craving Chinese, I'd either have to have it for lunch or get a single dish and some rice. This place has lunch specials, but they also have dinner combinations, which means you can get a few different things regardless of the time of day. It also make sharing easy -- for four people, you can easily get away with three combos, and have a virtual smorgasbord of choices. Not bad for under $30. I could go on, but you really should try it for yourself. If you live in Boston or New York or San Francisco, you might not agree with me, but on a snowy winter night, I can get there and back in 12 minutes, perfectly content to spend a night in.

I ordered a dinner plate with honey chicken, beef teriyaki sticks, boneless spare ribs and pork fried rice. To start the pork fried rice was hard and truly felt as though it has been sitting out for 3 days. The plate came with two beef teriyaki sticks and they were by far the smallest beef sticks I've ever got from any Chinese restaurant. The spare ribs were edible however not a large portion by any means. The honey chicken... it could be just me but I've never had anything like this before. It tasted like sugar granules in an overbearing sweet sauce covering undercooked chicken fingers. Truly the worst item I've ever received from any Chinese place before and that is saying a lot. I also ordered some scallion pancakes and they were so hard to bite down it felt like i was going to break a tooth. Everything i ordered wasn't fresh at all! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Asian Wok Express!!! If you're in the hampton seabrook area i would recommend wok the wok on hampton beach!

9 Dragons is the sister restaurant of the legendary Kowloon restaurant on Route 1 in Saugus, MA…read more While 9 Dragons was opened by the same family and still offers some of the same dishes as the original restaurant, this place is quite the glow up from the Kowloon in regards to the food, atmosphere and service. The restaurant itself is stylish and intimate. The space boasts eye catching decor from neon signs and a mahjong tile doorway to big murals and light fixtures in the form of umbrellas and lanterns. The menu is printed to look and feel like a Hong Kong Hollywood newspaper which I also thought was really cool. The menu here is smaller and more focused than the one at the Kowloon, but I did see that it still offers a handful of the Kowloon's signature dishes. In the case of this restaurant, I definitely feel that the limited menu is essential to producing higher quality dishes. We shared a scorpion bowl cocktail for two, which was served in a cute beckoning cat drinking vessel. For food we got the scallion pancake, the General Gau's chicken and the Brussels sprouts. The food came out about ten minutes after we ordered which initially made me a little bit nervous about the food quality, but once we dug in we could tell that the food was quite fresh. The scallion pancake was nice and crispy on the outside, a little bit chewy on the inside and was served with a ginger sauce for dipping. The Brussels sprouts were prepared Kung Pao style with peanuts and a touch of chili pepper. The General Gau's chicken was fried well, coated in a delightfully sweet and spicy sauce and topped with crispy fried rice noodles. We are just about every morsel on the plates. We knew had to save a little room for dessert here when we saw that they serve a giant chocolate dipped fortune cookie that they smash apart with a mallet right at the table. Served alongside some ice cream, the giant fortune cookie is a super sweet and fun way to finish your time here. Additionally, it came as a pleasant surprise when our check came and it was not quite as high as we were anticipating, especially when you consider that the restaurant is housed inside of a casino. All in all, 9 Dragons left us with a great first impression. A great addition to the Seacoast.

We started with the Crab Rangoon and Calamari, both of which were delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the Teriyaki Steak Skewers with rice, and my friends had all the same--the Polynesian Cashew Chicken with rice. Every dish was flavorful, well prepared, and the portions were just right. For cocktails, we tried the Scorpion Bowl for Two, Lotus Mai Tai, Coconut Banana Mai Tai, and Dragon's Law. My personal favorite was the Coconut Banana Mai Tai--it was sweet and refreshing. The Scorpion Bowl was good, but a bit too strong for my taste with a heavy gin kick. To finish the evening, we shared the Coconut Green Tea Affogato, a creamy coconut green tea ice cream dessert with warm oolong tea poured over the top. It was something different and absolutely delicious. The staff, especially our server, were friendly, attentive, and made sure we enjoyed our entire dining experience. One thing I wish had been mentioned is the tarot & fortune reading experience offered at the restaurant. We only noticed it tucked away in the back hallway while heading to the restrooms. It would be great if diners were made aware of it since it seems like a fun way to end the night. Overall, the food was outstanding, the drinks were creative, and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
