    Peking duck
    Alex W.

Very good Peking duck for the price in Houston! We got a full duck for 3 people; It's probably best for 4 people and ordering extra pancake wraps would not be a bad idea! The duck soup (comes with a Peking duck order) was very comforting and complemented the duck well. The scallion pancake was very crispy and good value, but I would order it for takeout instead because the duck alone is very oily :)

We had 8 adults and two children under 5 with us. We ordered: Full Peking Duck and it came with soup - they use the pancake style and every adult had 2-3. We did not need to add extra sauce or pancakes. The Duck soup had the clear noodles in it. But minus one full star because we did find a piece of plastic in there. Very concerning... luckily, it was in one of the adults bowls and not the kids. Stir fry lamb - it's about equal parts veggies and meat. The lamb tastes off. Mapo tofu- has a slight spiciness to it but was a good comfort dish. Scallion pancakes- super crispy and tastes great with orange chicken. Orange chicken - in the sweet side and its chucks of delicious meat. Bok choy- our vegetables dish of choice. Good plate cleanser in between strong flavored dishes. I'm on a low carb diet so this was a good alternative to rice for me. I would get the scallion pancakes, orange chicken, and bok choy again. Mapo tofu for those who like a slight spicy kick. The Peking Duck is debatable. I like the breadier version instead of the pancakes. But I liked the fact that the duck isn't overly greasy. As for service, it was alright. They did great with the kids. But there was some miscommunication regarding food. We had a dish that we thought was taking forever to make, but it turns out they never place it in the order and said that we didn't ask for it. As for water it was off and on, sometimes we had ask for more refills and other times they came back for it. As for the dining room. The table and chairs were stable. The lighting and noise wasn't too bad. They have some of their dishes framed on the wall. And there's free parking out front and two garages in the area.

We've been coming here for Peking duck ever since it opened, and it remains our go-to spot for it. The duck is hands down the best in town and closest to authentic Peking duck (although the knife work and presentation is much less sophisticated compared to the real thing). Their other Northern Chinese style dishes are solid as well, reminds me a little taste of home. My personal favorites are the shredded pork with garlic sauce and the salted egg with pumpkin. If you are adventurous and love spicy food, their Mao Xue Wang (spicy intestine and blood stew) is also pretty flavorful. Most menu items stayed consistent, but the price has gone through multiple increase throughout the years. The whole duck combo is now $56 (was $45 less than 2 years ago), and the complementary duck soup has been getting a bit watered down. Despite these changes, we'll definitely keep coming back!

This place is in a popular spot on bellaire. I've been here a couple times, and the service is pretty fast considering how the type of dishes you order. I ordered the duck in advance when I reserved. The duck is pretty good - I would say the portion is smaller than I expect and compared to other places I've been to. The steamed fish is my favorite at the place. The place is pretty small. Luckily most times I've gone when it's not too busy.

Finally came back here since I have been eating Peking duck elsewhere but that place is too far. Got the half a duck and Japanese tofu. Overall decent except for too much garlic in the tofu dish. Not as busy as before. The menu seem expanded the last time I came. Service is your usual Asian service. At least now I think I don't have to call that much ahead to get my duck.

The ambiance inside the restaurant is very nice and the staff are courteous and welcoming. The restaurant is small at best medium in size but the food is super delicious. The Peking duck is super crispy and yummy cooked to perfection. The other entrees were tasty too. Definitely coming back for more and more support for Chinese owned businesses

Tasteless and greasy Now they hang their ducks to dry the skin in a U-Haul truck out back

Very friendly staff. Great decor! Ordered the Kung pao chicken as well as half a peking duck which came with a duck soup. Soup was a nice broth with some pieces of duck neck and chopped up nappa cabbage but only 2 pieces of tofu, would've been nice to have more tofu. Peking duck was the best I've had, the skin was crispy without the fat! Came with thin wraps, cucumber slivers and green onion and sugar. The Kung pao chicken was also the best we've ever had! The only thing that I didn't like was that they would not give me rice to go with boxed up leftovers. All in all I will definitely return. Highly recommend this place.

Good food, but terrible service. Only time they came to the table was dropped off food and to get the payment for check. I asked for Togo boxes countless of times and nobody came. I had to go and get it myself. The waiter I had was rude and had a RBF from the beginning. I regret leaving a tip here. Moving forward if I ever experience such terrible service, that tip will definitely go down. I will not come back due to their staffs lack of service towards my family The Peking duck did taste good though.

Great Chinese restaurant! I most liked the cauliflower, the Peking duck, and then the Kim chi boiled fish.

Here is changed the menu for Sichuan Mala food, taste really traditional, if you like spicy food highly recommended! Also the Peking duck is the second to none! Like back to the homeland Beijing!

Enjoyed the peking duck at this place - the meat was super fatty and like that they have a duck soup using the bones and cabbage sauerkraut - not sure what this is called in English lol. There is the usual pancake wrap, cucumber and onion to wrap them with. I have had better peking duck - a bit leaner duck and cripsy skin but its not bad here. The pork belly stew was good, meat was very tender and fatty. Pepper fish was alright. It wasnt super crowded when we went on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Service was decent.

It was soooo good ! Duck bone soup for 5.99, can share it for 2 people. The general chicken is so crunchy and juicy? Everything and everyone wonderful!

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

My friend Aurora wanted to meet Donna early dinner and gossip session and she really liked this place. (We tried having a team lunch at the Rice Village location during the cold front last Oct but they had no heat so we opted for a warmer place but she grabbed a to go on the way home) Here we are for a late lunch 3:45 pm on a Friday. Parking was none had to drive around the block and saw some movement and bam, someone was leaving. We ordered at the bar, staff was super nice and opted to sit outside. Did not realize they deliver to the table. Order: Mongolian beef combo with fried rice and egg roll $14.99 The food comes in takeaway style containers. Win. Mongolian beef (2.5/5) - slightly over sauced for me; beef was pretty tender and there were carrots and edamame which is not the standard so maybe that's what makes it fusion? Fried rice (3/5) - standard style fried with small pieces of bean sprouts which I love so that was a nice surprise Egg roll (3/5) - I assume it was chicken because I didn't realize there was a choice) - it was crunchy and soft on the inside which I like, and pairs well with sriracha (did not eat till I got home) They seem to do a whole lot of take away. The staff were nice and hard working. I was excited when they first opened bc they had chow fun on the menu and being HK Cantonese, I love that dish but when I ordered it the 1st and 2nd time eight years ago instead of bean sprouts they had cabbage and that alters rhe flavor tremendously. I see why it's popular among the people but just don't think it is for my taste.

She immediately asked what we wanted in a rude tone, which set an uncomfortable atmosphere from the start. There was a sign on the table advertising a "free appetizer" if you take a photo and tag the restaurant on social media. I followed the instructions exactly as stated, but when I mentioned it, the server initially refused to honor the promotion. After I pointed out the sign, she appeared upset and walked away. I saw she went to speak to another employee and cracked a smiled and looked over. She later returned and offered a small discount instead. The issue wasn't about the money or the discount, it was the principle. The promotion was clearly advertised, and I simply followed the restaurant's own policy. It was disappointing to feel like the restaurant was reluctant to honor something they were actively promoting. I hope management addresses this because customer service and consistency with advertised promotions make a big difference in the overall dining experience.
