What the heck -- let's go get some pelican snowballs. They claim to offer 100 different flavors here, and although I didn't count, I would say that might be true. There are lots of different flavors of shaved ice to choose from. This is New Orleans-style shaved ice, according to the sign outside. I don't know how this shaved ice differs from other shaved ice, but apparently, the person who started Pelican's Snoballs was from New Orleans and named the place after the Louisiana state bird. In any case, my children really enjoyed their shaved ice! We got one Unicorn, which is cotton candy flavored syrup topped with whipped cream and sparkly sprinkles. We also got a Shark Attack, which is Tiger's Blood and another flavor with shark gummies in the middle. They have some wacky concoctions here. You can take your shaved ice to go (they even have a drive-thru), or you can stay and eat at the picnic tables located outside. There is no indoor seating. When we visited, there was one person working there, so it took a little while to get our snow cones. But they were made really well and looked picture perfect, so they were obviously made with care and attention.

They are suppose to be open until 8:00pm. lights tuned off, building closed..this is the 3rd time I have randomly came here and it was closed during business hours. Whoever is running this place is clearly doing it for a hobby, because they do not care about the time you waste to drive to this place just for it to be closed.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine:…read more Parking: NA (Food Truck) Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5++ As i'm driving back to work from lunch (running late of course) I could see in the distance a Hawaiian themed truck sitting in front of a random office building. As I got closer I saw that it was Kona Ice. I had never had the chance to try them but heard great things. I immediately turned around to grab a cup. As i was walking up to the truck, I was greeted by a guy working the truck. His name was Judah. He was super kool! I told him I've never had Kona so he broke the process down for me. He was super excited about his job and you could tell he loved running the truck. Long story short, I've now reached out to Kona Ice of Raleigh to see if they will do a 'driveby' at one of my events thanks to Judah and awesome Kona! By the way, the Ice was super awesome! They had so many cool flavors to choose from. It was super hard to select just 2 lol.

Food truck. Shaved ice…read more Cinnamon. Raspberry. I like pretty much cinnamon or raspberry anything. So I was pretty stoked about seeing shaved ice with cinnamon and nothing but cinnamon. It was awesome. It was served in a perfectly shaped dome of ice. By the time I slurped my way to the bottom of the cup it was nothing but slightly diluted cinnamony syrup. The hot cinnamon really isn't real cinnamon; it tastes like those small red-hot candies common around valentines day or that you get in boxes at the movie theatre. But that's okay. Cold ice and hot cinnamon make a perfect conflation of flavors. And the sugar rush from all that syrupy sugary flavoring helped me make it through the boring afternoon meeting. Kona has lots more flavors, and I can also recommend the raspberry daiquiri. It's a viable alternative to the real ones. And, when the weather gets warmer, this will be a perfect respite from the heat. The Kona truck also has flavored water available from the spigots in a small cutout near the back of the truck. I can understand why this is a popular truck for kids parties.
