It's a walk up ice cream bar. They do have food, but we all had ice cream cones. I had coffee. It was great good coffee flavor. Like eating a cup of coffee with cream. Yum! The family all said they give it two thumbs up as well. It gets crowded, but don't let that deter you. They are good at staying friendly and keeping the line moving. Many people seemed to walk. While my shaved ice was amazing I'm not a fan of the bowl it's served in - so I asked for it in a cup with soft serve - my own cream slush, and I'm local, I know things are overpriced touristy - but a 20 oz cup of shaved ice, syrup, and maybe 1/3 cup of ice cream (I wish that I would have weighed in on my food scale when I got home) - either way it was $9.42. That's just a scam. In my opinion, you should offer at least a size selection but than it might be harder to justify $6 price on shaved ice and syrup. I guess my next craving will be tied in a trip to Target and I'll keep my fingers crossed that the machines at sonic are not broken. read more

I was excited that this was right across from our room and we could walk over there in about 3 minutes. I wasnt excited for very long. We got hotdogs and took them back to our room, intending to eat them and go back for shaved ice. We did not like the hotdogs and we never went back to try anything else. I got the hotdogs all the way and paid an extra .25 cents each for cole slaw on each one which is how I always order my hotdogs. I should preface this by saying Yes, I am an adult and Yes, hotdogs are my favorite food. This is my first time ever seeing a place charge for slaw and as it turned out I shouldnt have bothered. Other than the really good, soft bun that seemed like a potato or egg bun the hotdog was inedible, completely disgusting! This was by far the worst slaw I have ever had, it had some weird flavor to it and I have no idea what it was, nothing I have ever tasted before and nothing I want to taste again. We didnt want anything else from there so we never went back. For what they charge, I expect a gourmet or really good hotdog, these were neither. Go to the grocery store get a pack of ball park primes and throw then on the grill. Much better option. read more

My partner and I decided to take a trip to fun time ice cream for a sweet treat. Unbeknownst to us, our lives were going to be permanently altered. The place is unsuspecting from the outside, but the magic that occurs on the inside is truly something special. We approach the window and place our order, one swirl cone dipped in rainbow sprinkles and one cup of cake batter dipped in Oreos. As quick as I spend my paycheck, our ice cream arrived. Upon the arrival of our treats, I felt a flutter in my stomach, the rainbow sprinkles seemed to glow with beauty unforeseen except in the deep mountains of West Virginia. As my heart beat faster I tried my cone, and tongue swelled with joy. Yum! This cone reminded me of my youth, where nothing mattered except me and my friends locating our next coors light. It reminded me of the euphoric drive home from my sneaky links house. It reminded me of my excitement when I receive my latest temu package. And finally, it reminded me of true love. With the blink of an eye, my cone was gone, and a hole was left into my heart that has yet to be healed. It has been days since I've been to fun time ice cream and I find that I am starting to experience withdrawal symptoms such as cold sweats and hives. My family and I took a vacation down to Carolina Beach where we discovered this excellent little Ice Cream shop literally 4 houses down from where we stayed!! We absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food as well as the ice cream!! We hit them up at least 4 times on our 4 day stay if not more. They have something everyone will enjoy. The service was top notch too. There were young people working and they done an excellent job! Sometimes you don't always get that sort of service or attitude from the young generation at food places! This was all around a great place to visit and get to enjoy their delicious treats. Cute little walk-up Ice cream, hot dog, and burger shop close to the beach. This is further down Carolina Beach from the boardwalk headed towards Kure Beach. It's great for people staying the houses further down. There aren't really places to sit to eat, but there are a few benches to sit and wait for your food. The prices are reasonable for a hot dog stand as well. The menu includes shaved ice, ice cream, sundaes, hot dogs, burgers, and fries. I just needed a snack on this visit so I ordered plain fries and they were good. Definitely a great place to grab a quick bite to eat in the area away from the Boardwalk. This establishment has it's own parking lot as well, but it's a quick walk from the beach and many of the houses and hotels around. read more

We were looking for some good shaved ice before we left the beach, and this fit the bill! It was delicious! It had very big portions (no one in my family could finish theirs), so I recommend sharing an order. They don't have a lot of flavors of shaved ice, but they have all the most popular flavors (they also have root beer which I thought was unique!). Disappointed. Butter pecan tasted like butter scotch and was a golden color (not normal looking and I was extremely disappointed with the flavor). My husband and I could not stand the flavor so we threw it away. Butter pecan is one of our favorites. The other ice creams I ordered barely full. I could see the inside of one of the cones. Charged 4% to use credit card. I saw some reviews bragging on this place but I can find much better ice cream for much cheaper (at Food Lion in a tub). That was my last time stopping there. Went to this place with my friends. Really good ice cream! Some of the best I've had, but I have one question. We were standing outside and saw a man (possibly the owner) carrying a bright yellow ice cream cone to the back of a trailer. He then walked back out ( LITERALLY 2 SECONDS AFTER) empty handed. He then proceeded to walk back in the building to do what looked like laundry. And not even a minute later he walked down the street. We left about a minute later and he was nowhere to be found. My question being... where is the ice cream cone? And more importantly what flavor is yellow? Really good ice cream tho. read more
