I was really between 4 and 5 stars but I decided 4 only because I couldn't verify consistency yet. I love the ambiance. It's sophisticated but not sterile. It's actually quite large. There is a bar area to the right and a private dining room to the left for private parties. But then there is a rather large dining room past the bar and a very interesting circular room to the left (if you're walking from front the back) that is made out of glass and I have absolutely no idea what it is for but I color myself intrigued. The restrooms are very elegant and serene. We sat at the bar and Nikola was behind the bar (who looks like Mandy Moore) and she was busy but not slammed although very attentive like there was no one else at the bar. We had the branzino ceviche, which was incredibly good. I got a half-dozen oysters (my husband doesn't like oysters) and unfortunately they only had east coast but they were some I already knew that were much smaller (thankfully) and lighter than most). We also tried the sesame focaccia and this was surprisingly excellent. I mean, I hear sesame and I'm usually signed up and my husband hears focaccia and he's already signed up but I think both of our pleasant surprise was the whipped ricotta. This dish is much more than it sounds and I would absolutely recommend it, especially for a table. Now, this may seem like an unexpected thing to say, but honestly both of our favorites was the grilled seafood mix. Yes, it sounds generic and setting itself up to not have any identity to the different seafoods and have them all cooked at the same doneness (which means some over, some under) but it was not that. All of the shrimp, octopus, and squid were perfection. I'm glad Nikola recommended it because that would probably be something I would not usually gravitate towards. Everything here was absolutely amazing. Second time here and each time it gets better. The drinks are refreshing, the food is flavorful, and the desserts are amazing. The baby lamb chops were so juicy. You need to save room for dessert as they are unique and delicious! They have an outdoor area and a greenhouse area that is indoor but full glass windows. We came here with friends to celebrate New Year's, expecting a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Instead, the experience turned uncomfortable and upsetting. The service was already lacking, but the biggest issue was the manager's ( Christophe ) conduct . Rather than handling concerns professionally, the manager escalated the situation and had my friend (woman) escorted out at 10pm which was completely unnecessary and humiliating. I wanted to love Pella Signature so much but it sadly fell short. This restaurant is new to the Burr Ridge mall so I wanted to try it out. The inside is HUGE and beautifully decorated transporting you to somewhere that feels airy, light, and tranquil. We asked to sit in the back where they have a glass enclosed patio. The patio vibe was 10/10. They had large trees, furniture that was comfortable, and lighting was impeccable. After that, the experience slowly went down hill. Our server, Juan, was extremely kind and good about checking in on us. We asked some questions and he made sure to get us answers. We wanted to stop by at brunch time after reviewing the online menu and how more appealed to us at that time. When we sat down, we were informed that the brunch menu had in fact been taken away two weeks ago as they are "reworking it". This was extremely disappointing and I would recommend to management to adjust the website. We started with the Pretty in Pink and Year of the Dragon (pomegranate) cocktails. Both were light, refreshing and I would recommend them. The turnaround time for cocktails was also a but lengthy. For our mains, my partner got the Chicken Shawarma sandwich and I the Avocado Toast. Sigh. My avocado toast came out as a heap of arugula and whole halves of avocado not even smashed. There was one piece of toast and not enough ricotta to get me through the one slice. To top it off, the dish was $19! For $3 more, my partner got a huge sandwich, potatoes, and dipping sauce. While this was a larger portion, he said there were other local options he preferred. Overall the menu prices were on the higher side. I would come back for a cocktail on the patio but otherwise, this wouldn't necessarily be a new go to spot of mine. read more

From start to finish, everything was exceptional! The octopus was tender and flavorful, the ribeye juicy and the prawns were a delight. All were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The ambience was just as impressive, paired with live piano music and singing, made the evening even more special. My drink, Garden of the Gods, was perfectly balanced and refreshingly delicious. New Year's Eve we decided to dine here for the very first time. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to sit at the bar. Filipe, the bartender was courteous funny and informative. Vibe was cozy and romantic ( bar area ) the rest of the place is too bright to my liking. What I like about this place is, it didn't take forever to get our orders: We ordered the following: Saganaki - 4/5 = presentation was ok, cheese was a tad bit salty, thank goodness it had a chunk of apricot I think on top, which was a good touch to compliment the cheese Octopus - 4/5 = impressive portion, however the octopus was slightly under cooked but we know it's fresh quality. Potatoes were seasoned well. Trofie Cacio Pepe - 3/5 = soggy, I expected it to be al dente... flavor was excellent though Chocolate Baklava - 3/5 = we expected more chocolate forward flavor but it had drizzles of chocolate on top but tasted exactly like a typical baklava. We spent about $200++ not expensive compared to other restaurants we have been to lately... But we will definitely come back... we like Filipe's service and the hosts in front were nice too. P.S. they had a NYE singer ... I don't know if he was actually a professional singer or a guest... we can't see him from the bar but we can hear him sing but uhhhh ... not the best singer... Like several other reviews before me, I REALLY wanted to have a great experience because of the convenience of this restaurant and the need to have another higher-end choice in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. Beginning at the hostess desk, they seemed confused and annoyed at me when I gave them my name to check in. There was no one else there yet they were preoccupied with the phone system. We had our pick of tables since we got there pretty early and got a nice table by the window. The place is gorgeous and HUGE. I mean really big!! You could probably fit 2 navy pier crystal palaces in this place. And it looks beautiful from the light fixtures to the gorgeous bar counter and deep blue leather apohlstery seating. Service was slow - we waited 20 minutes for our cocktails since they couldn't locate an ingredient needed for my Sazerac. The food was bland and unappetizing with the best being the focaccia bread although it was served with a table spoon of olive oil (I guess there's an olive oil shortage) that we had to share. The wedge salad we ordered wasn't a wedge salad and had tough, chewy pieces of salami. I had the lobster flatbread for my main course and it was very dry and chewy. The Carmel hazelnut dessert tasted exactly like a toblerone candy bar - exactly! So save the money and grab one at the store. And the dessert menu had gross food stains on it - certainly not expected in an upscale dining experience. read more

I live about 10 minutes from here and, honestly, I put off trying this place a few times because of the Yelp rating. I'm really glad we finally came in--it's a good reminder that Yelp can be useful, but it shouldn't be the only factor in deciding where to go. We had an excellent experience across the board, even with a prom event happening that could have easily impacted service or timing. Instead, everything was on point: great service, great pacing, and great food. Our server, Mima, was fantastic and especially kind and engaging with our three-year-old daughter, which we really appreciated. The spicy margarita was one of the best I've had, and every dish we ordered was excellent. I'm pretty picky when it comes to food, and I'm not shy about calling out bad meals in other reviews, but this was genuinely top-notch. And yes, as everyone mentioned in other reviews the ambience is great. It is a bit loud, but so is every restaurant in downtown--don't go to a hip place if you want it to be silent. Pella Signature offers a gorgeous dining setting with premium service. The wait staff was very professional, observant, and accommodating. Unfortunately, this is where the allure stops. The food itself was just okay, primarily bland selections. Our party included ten people, and we ordered two mixed grills, the Wagyu burger, mushroom risotto, and the seafood cauldron. No one raved about any of the selections and stated, "Oh, you have to try this." I think the $700 ( drinks & gratuity bumped us up) we spent was money wasted. We had a marvelous time, as the scene was beautiful, and the drinks and conversation created a great vibe, but the food was a letdown. We come here at least once a week for the 3-4 lb fresh catch. Whether striped bass, red snapper, or sea bass, it's just incredible. Charbroiled, crispy, smoky skin with moist fish inside and lemon sauce on top. Can't do any better than that. The ribeye with country potatoes is also excellent. NYE event was a disaster. First. They took $75 deposit per person at the time of reservation. Our table of 6 put up $450 deposit. At the end we looked at the bill and the deposit wasn't taken off. I brought it up to the waitress and she looked at me like she had no clue. She disappeared and came back 39 mins later but with only a $200 deposit taken off. I had to hunt her down again and tell her the correct amount. She disappears for another 20 mins. I had to go walking through the restaurant to find her. Finally it was correct but no apology or explanation. I firmly believe they figured everyone is drunk and will just throw their card down and pay it. If not then they would've acted apologetic and not like they got caught. Next the food. I was served what they tried to pass off as a "Wagyu" ribeye for $80 with a layered crispy potato with caviar. This was not wagyu and it was ordered med rare and came out beyond well done. The potatoes were cooked hours ago and were dried out from being kept warm all day. Sent it back, waited 30 mins and got a medium well steak. I was hungry so I just ate it. It was totally tasteless no seasoning at all. A friend ordered surf and turf at $130. His steak was overcooked and tasteless and the lobster tail was rubber. Again no apology, no visit from management, no gesture of good will, just an eye roll from the waitress while saying "give me the plate." Drink service was super slow as well. Bus staff was almost no existent. Some dinner plates remained on the table even after we left 3 hours after eating. I've been here before and the food was never good. A friend had suggested that we have dinner here yesterday (Monday). I had read the reviews on Yelp prior to my visit and was expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. First of all, the place is huge and the decor is beautiful. It takes up 2 stores fronts. It was a Monday night so I was expecting it to be slow and it was. There may be more than 130 tables in the place. There was only a total of 10-12 tables occupied. The place seats so many that I have to wonder if the space can support the amount of customers needed to pay the rent. Both the service and the food were very good. My friend that I was with thought so as well. The only negative was the dessert. They happened to run out of the two items that we wanted to order. We both ended up ordering the tiramisu. It was just okay. It's not your typical tiramisu. It's more like a flavored coffee custard or pudding. Something I would never order again. Also, this restaurant is a bit pricey. The tab for 2 people plus tip came out to around $250.00. All in all, this is not a place I would regularly go to due to the expense but I would certainly come back for a special occasion. read more

We hosted ~40 person ceremony and wedding reception 12/20/25 in Pella's semi-private Wine Room. Working with Maya to coordinate was terrific. She was responsive and accommodating, offering excellent suggestions. The evening of our event Christophe was amazing helping us decorate the cake with flowers from the florist, and Mima and Babis were incredible modifying the room set up, tending to our guests in 5-star style, and were polite and entertaining. Place is very nice and we were hoping the food and service would match the look. Very disappointed. First, the service was not the best but even worse was the food. We tried to order a bottle of wine and the server told us that they couldn't offer a bottle because the bar had three bottles already opened and therefore they could only offer per glass.... What??? Our entrees were served and we were shocked.... The amount served was a joke. We don't mind spending the money if the food is great but the food wasn't good and the portion for the amount they charge was incredibly ridiculous. We paid an outrageous amount of money and left so dissatisfied. Had to go to another place to eat.... What a shame.... Let's start with the positive: the physical plant here is amazing! Beautifully built with abundant seating, three large bar areas, a gorgeous private dinning room and a back room that is gorgeous with all glass walls and ceilings that also leads to an outdoor seating area. So in their defense it was day two for them. Yet one could say, if it's day 2 you should be 110% on your game ready to provide an amazing experience from the moment you walk through the door and see their gorgeous hostess desk. However this is where lack luster performance began. As we came in there was a party of 6 women at the hostess desk all standing together waiting to be seated. It was 6:30pm, the place seats like literally 500 people and yet it took over five minutes for the desk to figure out where to seat them and this place was FAR from busy. Once we were greeted the hostess was a bit apologetic and really didn't greet us and welcome us to this new venue. Our server was Katareyna who was pleasant yet for the fact the restaurant wasn't very busy, could have been a bit more attentive. We both ordered a "signature" cocktail. The server returned to inform me that they couldn't make my signature selection. Couldn't understand her very well but sounded like they didn't have the ingredients to make the drink. Seriously, day 2, a signature cocktail and you don't have the ingredients at any of the three huge bars in the restaurant? I ordered an old fashioned instead...see photo. It was fine...but ones I make at home are far better....just sayin. We ordered the Crab lollipops, delivered with an excuse that the normally adorned tree they present them in was lacking the "leaves" that dress up the presentation. They were fine, yet didn't have a tremendous amount of flavor. The entrees arrived at least 20-25 minutes later....my dish first, then a few minutes later my wife's dish arrived....for fine dinning, bring and present together....mine was already luke warm when it arrived at the table anyway. I ordered the $28 lobster pasta dish that had far more artichoke hearts than pieces of lobster. In fact, there was barely 2oz of lobster meat in the dish. Very disappointing. The chili flake in the sauce also over powered the dish and made what lobster was in the dish, undetectable in flavor. My wife ordered the Chicken shawarma . It was served with roasted red peppers which were fine. One pita used to hold the chicken. The chicken, albeit moist, looked very unappetizing and again lacked much flavor. The green arugula pesto sauce was inedible! My wife likes arugula and eats it every day yet even she couldn't stand this sauce. As a result the combination of pita chicken and peppers was very dry! Again, judge for yourself in the photo. We also had the portobello mushroom side. This was actually quite nice and flavorful yet lacked points for presentation.....see photo. We also ordered additional pita for my wife's dish which they charged an additional $3 for. Shocking. The $3 bucks isn't going to kill me but seriously, most restaurants provide a bread basket or some type of starter "free". Would be a nice touch had they done the same perhaps some pita chips and hummus for example? An additional pita costs them pennies to make.... So as much as I was really looking forward to being able to write a glowing review about this beautiful restaurant, I just had to call it like it was. My wife asked if I would return....I probably will just for the ambience with a hope that whatever I select from the menu is better than our choices tonight. One last thought. They have a coffee bar and pastry counter. The pastries look absolutely amazing and delicious yet none of them are offered on the dessert menu!? Entirely different selections on the menu. When asked about the pastries, they simply said they hadn't yet figured out how or what they are going to do with the area! Shocking to open this incredible looking restaurant and not have every detail nailed down before you open the doors. First impressions matter. The restaurant business is brutal and the competition is endless and in the Burr Ridge center it is only continuing to grow as more restaurants move in and well established ones like Topaz, Capri, Jonny Cabs and Cooper's Hawk exist. read more

New Years eve. Very expensive. Very disappointed. First of all, I called the previous day to ask about the menu for the evening. It was online on their website, but there were no prices, so I asked if it was a prix-fixe menu. She didn't know what that was. She then asked for a deposit. I said I only wanted an early dinner and would probably be gone by 7:30pm, so why would I need to pay for something I didn't intend to do. This also confused her. I asked for a booth. Cut to the following day. Walk into the restaurant to be blasted by the singer and pianist playing. They were very good, but it was way, way too loud. Checked in, no booth. Seated at a table. We couldn't talk to each other as we couldn't hear. The wait staff couldn't hear us either. Ordered a couple of cocktails and asked for some bread to munch on while we looked at the menu. No bread. Anything? "We can bring you some pita". Okay got that. Errm could we get something to dip it in. She brought us some oil - a little begrudgingly. We asked for a different plate as the one on the table had caked on food. My boyfriend ordered the jumbo prawns. He had to ask for butter to dip it in as none came with it. He asked for some black pepper. The wait staff seemed a little surprised by the request. When it came it was powdered pepper in a shaker. For a restaurant that says it's mediterranean I thought that a pepper grinder would be appropriate. And also, no bread?! Nothing?? The food was delicious, but it was not an enjoyable experience due to the volume. Also, the 20% tip was built in to the bill. Not cool. We will not be returning. read more

The atmosphere is lovely. We are in the atrium which was beautiful, albeit a bit loud. There was a saxophonist who was great. It took 15+ minutes to get a drink and service was very slow; however the servers were truly hustling and we were given a round of drinks on the house. Most importantly, the food was excellent. I had medallions of beef, medium rare, and they were on point. Even with the slow service, given the overall experience, I would go back again. Came in on a Sunday evening (first visit). The restaurant is huge and it wasn't very busy which was nice. Great wine menu and the food (upscale mediterranean) was all really good. We ordered a ton of dishes family style for a party of 4 - grilled octopus, oysters, calamari, ahi salad and meatballs small plates. Our server was great and made recommendations for wine and entrees - we ended up having the lamb chop and seafood cauldron. The star of the show was the banana cream pie - definitely recommend this! The only negative was there was a book signing party in the atrium and towards the end of our meal they started blaring music at concert volume.
