Returned to Dolce last night bringing a friend for the first time. Not an empty seat in the house, which is a good sign. We sat at a table upfront in a little nook, quite cozy. Saw my favorite waiter Rich and said hello. Angie took care of us last night, she was friendly and engaging. They were short-staffed unexpectedly so we were patient during our dining experience. We started with cocktails and I was happy to revisit the leatherneck, which I had on my previous visit. I added a sugared rim and it was perfection. The highlights of our dining experience were the brie with caramelized walnuts & honey, my husband's pappardelle dinner, and the tiramisu. The owner Steve came by the table a few times to talk to us. We met him the first time we dined at Dolce. It's evident that he cares about his customers and his business, and who doesn't love a little attention from the owner? If you dine at Dolce, save room for the tiramisu. It's so light and creamy. read more

Food was delicious, especially the Chef Bob's Shrimp, and the space made a charming spot for our book club. They hyped 'grab your green gear' on social media for St. Patrick's Day, but aside from a Lucky Charms gelato, there wasn't much of a theme happening. Food is always incredible. The restaurant has 3 different seating sections -- all with different vibes. The front is intimate - perfect for dates or quiet meals out for the night. The middle section has high top tables and a bar with some tvs, but is still open and lovely. The final section is outdoors but with a roof and heating. The service is always professional and friendly and has not recommended a bad meal yet. This place is always my recommendation when friends or family ask where we should go. read more

This place was so cozy during this cold winter. Loved the ambience!! A gentleman playing the piano, sign me up!! Dim enough to see, the wall of wine bottles was beautiful. We started out with few drinks, and this Italian restaurant made everything so delicious. We came as a big group and we tried a little of everything, shared plates. Everything was just perfect. I would give 6 stars if I could. This is casual fine dining. We were greeted by the owner, Steven as we entered. Area is clean, well maintained, and the staff is excellent. As you enter there is a small dining area with a grand piano. Piano player on Fridays and Saturdays. Down a short hall is the bar area with 5 high top tables. Then there is the patio, which I have to say, looks very inviting for when it is not 100 degrees with high humidity. Oh yes, the food . . . outstanding ~ southern Italian with very generous portions. The meatball appetizer and a salad would have made a meal, but that's not why you are here. We went with the chicken parm and chicken Limone. Delicious and plenty to take home for at least one additional meal. Can't forget dessert. Make sure to save room ~ gelato and vanilla cheesecake (flavor changes) were probably some of the best I've ever had. If you cannot tell, I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning. It has earned every award that it has received. read more

Especially since we were celebrating As we entered we were greeted immediately and seated in the main dining room where the wine wall was a fantastic backdrop which brings romance to your dining experience. Our waitress arrived with a bright smile as she took our beverage order. We ordered appetizers while we continued to review the menu. The meat tray was plentiful and refreshing...the only thing we weren't really sure of was the honey, however ... After placing our dinner order we were still enjoying the meat tray. Our meals arrived and we were very pleased (except one who did not pay attention there were capers in the sauce). It is definitely is evident each meal / dish was prepared fresh and not one of those freezer meals quite a few restaurants are leaning toward these days. Wow!! What can I say about this adorable spot to truly convey our experience?! My friend recently moved to Westmont so I drove out from downtown for a girls' night dinner. Not knowing much about the area, I decided on Dolce. It was close to my friend's house and Yelp offered some insight via reviews and photos. We parked in front of this little storefront spot with big front windows. We walked into a charming eatery that was so warm, cozy and welcoming. A rustic brick wall flanked with an array of wine bottles and soft earth tones created the perfect backdrop for a delicious meal and some girl talk. Our server was nice and helpful. She saw us struggling to read the menu and brought over a lime green magnifying glass with a light on it. We laughed as our evening kicked of with some humor. My chopped salad was sooo good. It was fresh and crunchy. My friend started with the burrata and honey. She said it was the perfect blend of sweet & savory. My friend loved her scallop risotto and my halibut was fantastic. It was so interesting with seasoned potatoes and a red sauce. I loved it. We shared a lava cake that ended our meal nicely. For cocktails I had a Paloma and my friend tried the Allia Rose. Everything was perfection! Right as we were about leave, a huge rainstorm blew in. The wonderful restaurant Owner Stephen jumped into action. First time for us in their new space. There is a similarity in their decorating which is good! They brought over the feel of the old place to their new place. That's terrific! I meant to walk through the restaurant to see the entire place but didn't this time. We were there on a Friday night. They turned away a couple of groups of people while we were there that didn't have a reservation. So, they are busy and doing well. I had the special which was a cheese manicotti. It was delicious! The garlic sauce was not overpowering. We had a LE ORME Barbera wine and that was an excellent compliment to our meal. We very much enjoyed that wine. We are very happy that Dolcé has been able to stay in Westmont and that they have been able to reopen as quickly as they did! It remains one of our favorite restaurants! read more

I have gone here a handful of times. When they first opened I was understanding. However the last time I went it took over 30 mins to serve the drinks. We waited over 40 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. When we were finally seated, the table was sticky and hadn't been properly cleaned. The service was also extremely slow and it took over 20 minutes for them to even take our drink orders. Parts of our order were forgotten and the food was subpar and cold. With its noisy, bustling, somewhat cramped space, it reminds me of a New York City restaurant. Our server clearly had his hands full and I was at first concerned that we'd get lost in the shuffle. However, I quickly noticed how the staff pulled together to ensure everyone got good service. I really liked seeing non servers helping serve because it showed a great level of team work, pride in their restaurant, as well as good work ethic. Everyone was friendly and helpful despite how busy it was. This alone made for a nice experience. Speaking of pride they clearly also have a lot of home town pride because their specialty cocktails are all named after or in reference to local businesses. What a cool touch. The specialty cocktail I went with was the Novicaine, in the description it explains that it's named for local dentist Dr. Stephen Esposito. It's made with Bourbon, sour mix, and simple syrup. It had a really nice flavor and was very enjoyable. They also have all the standard cocktails as well as a nice selection of wines. For an appetizer my husband and I had the meatballs, served with garlic marinara, pecorino romano, and toasted bread. The meatballs were hardy and had a nice texture though we both were surprised at the lack of flavor. They weren't bad just kind of bland. Perhaps a bit more garlic would have helped. I also had the beat salad which is served with citrus yogurt, pickled carrot, candied walnuts, and chives. Cold, creamy, juicy, fresh light flavors, delicious. For my meal I had Chef Bob's Shrimp which is shrimp sautéed with garlic, green scallions, plum tomatoes, ground pepper, and finished with white cream sauce, and ramano cheese, served over angel hair pasta. I asked for extra garlic which they happily added. I can't say enough for this dish. The shrimp were plump and plentiful, all the ingredients were perfectly cooked, tuns of flavor, it was a creamy, garlicky, delight. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake. It was rather standard but still very good. All in all a great meal. The prices are also very reasonable. I look forward to going back. read more

I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. Nice restaurant. We were seated in the back part of the patio section. The restaurant is split into 3 sections. The front is a small fine dining area with a piano. The next part is nice bar area with high top tables. The back part is a nice enclosed patio area, which is heated, (but on colder nights can be cool), with several tables and a TV. Overall the restaurant has a nice ambiance with good food and drinks. We will be back and request to sit in the front of the restaurant next time. read more

I f your looking for an intimate restaurant with excellent food you have to go to Dolce. The ambiance is perfect with the exposed brick, wood floors and dark wall color. The servers are so sweet and considerate, giving excellent food choices and laughter during the meal. They knew when to come and talk or just leave you be but the food, the food.... exceptional and the wine is fabulous with many to choose from. Thank you to Steve one of the owners who stopped by our table and chatted as if we were the only ones in his restaurant. That's what makes an establishment a destination, well done! I accidentally ordered food by Dolce in Illinois while living in San Diego California. When I got to the dolce in San Diego, they said I never ordered any food? So I re-ordered my food and thought that I could never get a refund for the food that I had ordered and dolce in Illinois......about 30 minutes later my phone rang and asked if I was ready to pick up my order in Illinois. I explained that I was in San Diego and I had mistakenly ordered the food from the Illinois restaurant by the same name. The waitress immediately got her manager on the phone , who believe it or not issued me a credit immediately. There was a carnival going on so I'm not going to over criticize on the three other tables in the room with crying babies and toddler screeching, but this is not a kid friendly restaurant. Our server was friendly, she mentioned that the scallops and risotto was one of their popular dishes, ummm it shouldn't be! For starters it wasn't risotto?! It was Minute Maid white rice with a dry sticky, not creamy sauce and the scallops were just ok. I do not recommend that dish especially for the price.
