Oven Baked Gigantes, Char Grilled Chicken Skewer, Wood-Grilled Wagyu Gyro

Mana is a very interesting experience if you're looking to elevate your Greek food. It's not your typical Chicago Greek restaurant, but it's not a bad thing either. The ambience is really nicely set for a date night or out with some friends. It offers plenty of seating, but I suggest you make a reservation on the weekend. We ordered plenty of items and most were delicious. The beet salad was one of my favorite salads here, offering an almond ricotta. We also ordered Chicken Skewer, Gyros, and the Gigantas Beans. Ok, I felt I was eating tacos with the Gyros because they were already pre-made in mini sandwiches. It looked like one thing and tasted like gyros which was kind of confusing. It was delicious and I enjoyed it for sure! The Chicken skewer was also nicely seasoned. The Gigantas Beans were disappointing. I think I expected them to be green beans (blame my ignorance) but I felt that the tomato sauce tasted like Italian Marinara. That would be the only thing I wouldn't order. Overall, their serving and bussing staff were friendly and helpful. It really gives you the elevated experience and makes your night a fancy one.

Happy Hour Review! Thoroughly impressed by my experience and the space that Mana offers. The owners also have a hand in local spots like Prasino and Honey & Jam. The inside of the restaurant was beautifully designed immediately taking you to a Mediterranean getaway. They also have two sections of outdoor patio seating along the street with umbrellas. My husband and I sat at the bar and were helped by Brice. He had great menu knowledge, good drink suggestions, and was extremely friendly. Their Happy Hour offers $9 drinks (including the spritz's) and $9 tasting bites. We ended up ordering the Iremía & Hará cocktails. To say we were blown away by the flavors is an understatement. The presentation of each was equally pleasing. For food, we got the Charred Meatballs that tasted fresh and not overcooked. They also gave us complimentary bread with olive oil & herbs as well as a small bowl of olives. We both left feeling like we could not wait to visit again for a bigger meal. Would highly recommend giving them a try!

My bestie suggested that we go to this fairly new restaurant- so happy we did! We were greeted by an extremely friendly host and escorted to our lovely booth. The restaurant is very nicely done- both inside and outside. Our server greeted us soon and we were immediately brought water and menus and olives. We started with cocktails- I ordered something not on the menu (lavender gimlet). The bartender did an awesome job-delicious! We started with a spread -tarama. It was served with lightly charred pita. It was so rich, briny and creamy-absolutely delicious! For our second course we shared the char grilled octopus- spectacular. We loved the fava bean spread that accompanied it. It was one of the best I ever have had. The service was impeccable, food was excellent- looking forward to my next visit!

This restaurant Mána was a really nice surprise. We have many Greek restaurants around Chicago and the burbs, and Mána is right there at the top with Psistaria in my opinion. Excellent food, we really enjoyed everything we had. The ambience of the restaurant was so nice. It's not the typical white and blue that you might think of Greek restaurants. Just look at some of the pictures on yelp and you'll see it's a beautiful place. The service was also excellent, and they even have live Greek music, which we were told is Thursday nights at 6:30 PM. The music is not loud, so you can easily have a conversation. The gentleman named Dimos that plays the bouzouki and walks around a little bit is really good! Looking forward to going back!

We came to celebrate a late Valentine's Day dinner. Our reservations were at 6pm on a Saturday and we were seated right away. Inside is a bit cramped but very clean and cute. There are floor to ceiling windows which I loved. I'd imagine during the day there is a bunch of natural light. There are spacious booths on either side with a line of tables down the middle. We were seated at one of the table and I felt like I was way too close to the other couples. To start, I had the hopeful cocktail which was just the right amount of sweetness. The entire menu sounded so good. We ended up sharing the charred beats, wood-grilled Wagu gyros, and the oven baked pastitsio. The dishes were all delicious and very unique in their own way. Our meal also came with some complimentary toasted bread with olives. Food was delicious but another downside was that I felt like we were being rushed the entire time. Our waitress kept asking if we wanted to order more food when we had barely even started to eat the plates in front of us. Then, at the end of our meal I stood up and the bussers were right at my side ready to clear the table.

We went to this fabulous new-to-us Greek restaurant for dinner recently with our good friends. Loved the decor of Mana greek restaurant. We had a very personable server, Kristin, who answered all our questions and guided us from cocktails to food. She was great! We started out with cocktails. Of course, the guys had old-fashioneds and the girls had martinis. My cocktail was so tasty with mezcal, prickly pear, thyme liquor and lemon. The four of us shared the fava dip, the saganaki and the grilled octopus appetizers. Olives, grilled bread and pita bread were brought to the table as well. The fava dip was flavorful, the octopus grilled to perfection and the saganaki a huge disappointment. This classic Greek cheese dish is usually flamed at the table so it's melty gooey goodness. Unfortunately, there was no flaming and it was served in a wedge instead of a square or rectangular shape. It had a crust to it that was crispy and when you cut into it, it was dense and not soft and gooey. I can understand if the restaurant does not want to be flaming cheese at the tables, but it should be done in the kitchen and served immediately so it's not hard and dense. It was a total miss for me. Next up salads. My friends had a traditional village salad and my husband and I shared the charred beets with almond ricotta. The village salad was as you would expect, and the beets were excellent although could have been cut into smaller pieces and served with more ricotta for the amount of beets on the plate. For dinner, I had the charred wagyu meatball appetizer, which I could only eat one. They were so good and huge! My husband had the wood fired branzino (delicious) with a side of vegetables. The fish was moist and flaky. Our friends ordered the Greek butcher board, which was huge and had all sorts of meats with crispy potatoes and accoutrements. The four of us could've split that board and there would still be leftovers. At the end of the meal, Kristin brought us shots of Greek Lightening, a cinnamon honey liquor, I believe she said the owners made. It tasted like a smooth Fireball shot. Nice touch! Please note that the restaurant adds a 3% service fee to their bills. Unfortunately, the restaurant charged us $20 on a $400 bill, which was an upcharge to a 5% service fee, not the 3% as stated. I did reach out to the restaurant after discovering it the next day, and they wanted to correct it asking for my charge card, but it wasn't worth my time to try to correct this. I just wanted them to know that they need to be careful and they made an error. I'm sure that this service fee is not manually entered, so I wonder how many people are being charged more on their service fee not catching it like me until after the fact, if at all. More money in their pockets? With that said, I will definitely be back to Mana. I loved most everything about it.

Great service ambiance and food. We came here again recently to celebrate our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience.

Walked into beautiful restaurant, with lovely decor and was seated as we had reservations. As a vodka drinker there was not an option for cocktails , it was mostly gin and tequila. I ordered the hopeful drink , did not care for flavor . My husband drank it for me said it was like a nice summer drink. Ordered the zucchini chips and saganaki . Was a bit disappointed that the saganaki did not have presentation with fire and burning cheese fresh. It was deep fried in pie shape. It was still very good . Main entree was the gyro plate , again was expecting the gyro to be sliced differently it was shredded and placed on 3 small pitas with sauce and a tomato and onion mixture . I didn't not want tomato but was told it already was mixed together. I had then place on side so I could just grab onions . The pita bread was a little hard but overall the food was good . As a pistachio lover , ordered the pistachio gelato for dessert . First bite was good then as I continued to eat it tasted a bit different, realized they pour olive oil on top to complement sweet and salty flavors. Was not a fan of that- it ruined it for me . All I tasted was olive oil . I'm not sure if it was listed that way on dessert menu as I didn't see it but would definitely not get it added on if I went again . Overall it was a pretty place , wish server could have made some different recommendations in regard to options for a vodka drinker and also option of just onion and not tomato for meal. Instead of just saying it was already mixed together.

Made a 6:30pm reservation for Saturday. Their outside area looks beautiful, with seating for eating but also spacious lounging to grab drinks and maybe split some apps. We ended up eating inside because it has rained right before and the chairs were still a bit wet. The place that use to be Wild Monk has been completely transformed. Got to our reservation on time but had to wait about 15-20 for our table. It was pretty busy and unfortunately there's not really any place to wait inside unless you go to the bar, which was full. Girls at the hostess stand were not very friendly. Overall the restaurant is not huge , but cozy enough and they laid it out to maximize the space. Our waitress was nice although she did not seem to know the menu very well/wasn't able to describe the dishes when we asked questions. I don't eat seafood and I dont like feta so I got the chicken skewers with a side of Greek rice. The portion was great for me and I liked the tabbouleh salad that same with it. My husband on the other hand was in heaven cause he loves seafood. He ended up with the wild prawn and a beet salad. He enjoyed both a lot and pretty much ate with his eyes everything everyone else around us got lol. Around 7pm they turned up the music really loud. They had a DJ and also guy playing the trumpet. The vibe was very club like and very hard to have a conversation across the table even though it was a small table. I liked the music just would have liked for them to turn it down a notch. Overall, food was good but it was on the pricier side. This place is right up my husband's alley so I'm sure we will be back for dinner but I would definitely like to come back here for drinks and small plates.

Had an excellent experience (food, drink + service) at Mána in La Grange -- what an amazing spot! From the spreads and grilled octopus to the lamb chops, branzino, and desserts, every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly presented. (not shown: the amazing cocktails that made it even better).

Went for the first time for brunch; drinks and food were delicious. Service was spot on and attentive; even received a free dessert for my birthday. Would love to go back to try dinner

Wow is all I can say. The service, the food, the ambiance and the wine were all EXCELLENT! The staff is attentive and the space is gorgeous and clean. I would come back for a cocktail and an appetizer or a full dinner. I can't wait for the patio this summer.

Pre-meal: Reservations advised. Room: Loud. Picture-taking: Good lighting. Table lamps. Beverages: Good selection of Greek-centric cocktails and wine. I had the Efforias cocktail which was a delicious spicy vodka concoction with lime and dill. Menu: Fairly standard Greek menu. Food: Generally underwhelming. The selection of spreads featured possibly the worst hummus I've ever had - bland and flavorless - it was a bad omen. The grilled octopus was a generous sized tentacle and was good. The tomahawk pork chop was severely underseasoned but came with decent lemony Greek potatoes. The grilled prawns were hammered - so tough - and the heads were devoid of any juice. Such a waste of a great product. Service: Polite but slow. Price: $$$ Value: 1.33 out of 10 Summary: Expensive Greek food that fails to deliver on upscale promises.

This is about a 4.5-5. -arayes with meat 4 - this was not bad. It's like a tamer version of the meat toshka. -meat toshka 5 - I prefer this over the arayes because they add the Syrian cheese. It goes well with the pita bread. The meats were cooked medium well unless you want something. I think next time I'll ask for the shish kababs to be cooked medium rare or medium for a more juicy taste. The chicken tawook and kufta were both succulent. -fillet of basa fried 5 - the two pieces of basa fillet were astronomical. It also comes with two different kinds of rice. I begin with them because they were the friendliest folks, and their service was truly remarkable. Then comes the food - my goodness, the food. Let's begin with the Harira. Perfectly seasoned, but for me, it requires a little more salt (which is personal preference) and a pop of acid like lemon to bring out its true flavor. Overall, a really comforting, rich soup without being heavy or cloying. Then came the Moroccan seasoned potatoes - oooooweeee! These were little nuggets of pure deliciousness. Seasoned to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside and every bite kept you wanting to go back for more. Then the lamb shank tagine - ummmm, excuse me?!?! What do you mean the meat is like butter? It literally falls off the bone and dissolves in your mouth. Rich, fatty, unctuous and truly a delight. The bed of couscous it came with was also great - made better by the sauce from the lamb shank. The highlight of this plate were the roasted prunes that are part of the sauce. Sweet, jammy prunes cooked into the sauce made them just truly a delightful mouthfeel in comparison to the couscous and the scrumptious meat. To top it all off, the cherry on top, is their comforting Moroccan mint tea. So very fresh and the perfect end to an absolutely DELIGHTFUL meal. Highly recommended!!!

If you go to a Moroccan restaurant, you've got to get tagine. It took a little while for the food to come out, but overall it was excellent. The taktouka sampler was full of veggies. It was tasty, but I wish the carrots were cooked more to soften them. The mixed grill platter had chicken and beef kabobs, as well as something like a kefta (ground meat) kabob. The meats and rice were good, although the beef and chicken could have been more tender and juicy. The white sauce was a nice accompaniment. The lamb shank was excellent; nice tender meat, tasty rice, and delicious supplemental flavors from the figs and apricots. Overall, a very nice lunch.
