    Falafel dinner
    Vandana M.

It's a cute place on the river walk. We parked near the sled hill and walked to the restaurant on a nice weather day. The walk back was so refreshing. We dinner on the patio, it was a beautiful evening and we had a great impromptu dinner. The food was amazing and our server was very friendly. I noticed someone in a nearby table was annoying her but she was able to quickly fix her mood and not pass on the annoyance to her other customers. We got the veggie chips too share, the do was an amazing yogurt besides dip. I got the falafel dinner and it was so good and filling! The restaurant inside was decorated pretty with dim lighting. The restroom was clean and well decorated. My only issue was that once I got home, I felt some acidity in my stomach which usually happens if I eat fried food cooked in used oil. All in all, it's a nice place and I will certainly come back. In fact I want to bring our of town friends over here when they visit.

This place is so amazing! We had some fabulous food. The Vasili's chips were the favorite at the table. The baklava was huge and could easily feed 3. What I liked most was that our server didn't rush us and we got to enjoy a great meal and good conversation. I find this to be a more European model of service. It was a lovely night to sit outside and watch the dogs walk by.

Came here on a whim because they were accepting walk-ins and was pleasantly surprised You absolutely have to try the saganaki cheese dish with pita and the dip trio was also yummy (I wish they gave us more pita though). I had the cod per recommendation from our server and it was a solid pick. My friend's seabass was also delicious but my friend who got the lamb skewers said they were kind of plain. Overall service and ambiance are great though! I love how this restaurant is decorated.

Food was delicious, ingredients fresh. One of our dishes was burnt and server had it replaced. The decor was beautiful and the windows brought in so much light.

Recently visited Vasili's for our anniversary and had a great night out. The vibes are very hip, Chicago style fine dining. Busy, bustling, tables very close together, but you feel trendy just being here. This was our first Greek food experience and we loved it! We enjoyed keftedes (lamb meatballs in a tomato sauce) and chicken skewers and both were great! But the real star for us was the dip trio with fresh pita bread. We chose hummus, skordalia (whipped garlic potato) and tirokafteri (whipped feta and red pepper). I want to go back and just eat all of these all night oh my gosh they were all AMAZING! If you're looking for a nice night out in Naperville, this trendy and delicious spot is perfect! I'd love to go back in summer to enjoy the patio overlooking the river.

Our server, was amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service truly made our experience even better. Loved the ambiance . I am vegetarian ; although there were vegetarian dishes I did not like them. However all my friends enjoyed their dishes

My first visit went well and I was super impressed with their meals, service, and the restaurant itself. The dinning area was super clean, well maintained, and cheerful. There is so much light and it has a great Mediterranean feel. The server was great and even the people helping her were awesome. They provided great recommendations and made sure to clear the table as we dined so that there was no clutter. The food was so well prepared. Great flavors and prepared perfectly so that the steak was tender. If they even think you may not like the way tour steak was prepared, they will immediately take it back. I didn't make them do it. Instead i tried it and realized they had prepared it exactly as I wanted it. Spot on service! You won't regret coming here. Let us know how you like it!

Stopped into Vasili's Mediterranean Grill on a perfect night and somehow scored a prime riverfront table with no reservation. Honestly didn't think that was happening. Service was great--Dani took really good care of me and kept everything moving without ever feeling rushed. Food delivered across the board. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, and the gyro was excellent (and big enough that I'm taking some home). Pro move: get extra tzatziki--it's outstanding. Only small heads up--if you sit outside by the river, you'll have a few bugs flying around. Nothing crazy, just part of the setting. We literally make it a point to stop here when we're in the area--even if we're not staying in Naperville.

Vasili's is the place to go when you're in Naperville! It's clear why it's won so many awards, including best Mediterranean Restaurant in Naperville for 2024! The ambience and vibes here are amazing, the style is incredibly inviting and fresh, and the service was awesome Every dish we had was fantastic, freshly made, and tasted so good! They have one of the best hummuses I've ever had, and the Lamb Kleftiko was unreal! This place is great for a date or for family and friends and you can either share dishes family style or go your own way, no matter what you choose, know that it will be a phenomenal experience!!

A delicious Greek spread at Vasili's! We started off with the spanakopita, and their disassembled version allows for the phyllo to stay crispy in between the delicious layers of spinachy goodness! We split the lamb shank over couscous & keftedes (lamb meatballs in tomato sauce with a baguette) and both were excellent. The restaurant itself is beautiful and located in the heart of the Riverwalk, however would definitely recommend making a reservation as it's very crowded, even on a week night. Our waitress, Alyssa, was very kind and checked in on us all night. If you're looking for high end Greek food in Naperville, this is the spot!

Had a nice experience and great service overall but thought the food was pretty pricey for what it is and was just okay. We started with the dip trio and that was fine but nothing special. We really enjoyed the Caesar salad and thought this was the meal highlight. For mains we had the lavraki and the magerefto. Both were okay but could have been more flavorful. The fish portion was also on the smaller side especially for the price. The cocktails were great! The overall experience was nice but I would not rush back.

Aesthetically beautiful! Vasili's gave me the Chicago vibes I wanted without the Chicago paid parking and 30 min - 1 hr drive. WINNING! My husband and I had dinner here to help celebrate my birthday and liked it. Service throughout was consistent and quick. I started out with a gin based drink and it was a miss for me. My husband tried their tequila based drink and it was also a miss for him. Since both drinks were not great, idk if we'd order cocktails again. We may stick to wine from there going forward. For food we tried the saganaki, grilled calamari, falafel, chicken souvlaki and the pineapple revani. Things were hit or miss. The falafel was just OK. I didn't find it to be anything special but still decent. The grilled calamari was a big time miss. The calamari itself was very bland and chewy. It tasted like it was frozen, thawed out then boiled. I did not like it at all and would pass on it completely. The sauce in it was good but it was so unfortunate that the calamari was just so bad. Okay! The good stuff - We both enjoyed the saganaki and the chicken souvlaki. I'd order both of those items again. The chicken was slightly overcooked, but thankfully the flavors made up for it. I also loved how it had the char grilled taste to it. For dessert I wanted to try something different and ordered the pineapple revani. For me it had too much going on and it was way too sweet. I wish I would have stuck to rice pudding or the donuts.

I chose the Chicken Koobideh which was so juicy, I was shocked! I've had good Koobideh, but never this juicy and tender! Strong flavor, and hint of saffron, a true delight. I also ordered the Ghormeh Sabji - which is a soya (dill) based green stew with meat and beans, and when it first comes to the table, you're thinking this looks and smells like henna paste, but the taste is so beautifully complex - savory, bitter, buttery, and pure deliciousness in every bite!!!!! A must try for something different. Husband ordered the lamb shank, and it was tender and fall off the bone! The meat was soft and unctuous. It was served with this roasted garlic bulb that was roasted to perfection, taking the harshness of the garlic away and replacing it with a soft, buttery, jammy garlicky goodness that is to DIE for!!!! Lastly, my mom got the lamb and beef Koobideh and said it was soft and juicy as well. After food, we had their tea and it is absolute perfection. I take mine sweetened, but even unsweetened my mother found it perfect! Lastly, don't sleep on the DOOGH! That's that fermented yogurt drink that is tart, salty, and super refreshing! I almost didn't even wanna tell yall about it, but I reminded myself that gatekeeping is a cardinal sin! And finally, the ambiance and the service is AMAZING. I begin with them because they were the friendliest folks, and their service was truly remarkable. Then comes the food - my goodness, the food. Let's begin with the Harira. Perfectly seasoned, but for me, it requires a little more salt (which is personal preference) and a pop of acid like lemon to bring out its true flavor. Overall, a really comforting, rich soup without being heavy or cloying. Then came the Moroccan seasoned potatoes - oooooweeee! These were little nuggets of pure deliciousness. Seasoned to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside and every bite kept you wanting to go back for more. Then the lamb shank tagine - ummmm, excuse me?!?! What do you mean the meat is like butter? It literally falls off the bone and dissolves in your mouth. Rich, fatty, unctuous and truly a delight. The bed of couscous it came with was also great - made better by the sauce from the lamb shank. The highlight of this plate were the roasted prunes that are part of the sauce. Sweet, jammy prunes cooked into the sauce made them just truly a delightful mouthfeel in comparison to the couscous and the scrumptious meat. To top it all off, the cherry on top, is their comforting Moroccan mint tea. So very fresh and the perfect end to an absolutely DELIGHTFUL meal. Highly recommended!!!

It was tasty, but I wish the carrots were cooked more to soften them. The mixed grill platter had chicken and beef kabobs, as well as something like a kefta (ground meat) kabob. The meats and rice were good, although the beef and chicken could have been more tender and juicy. The white sauce was a nice accompaniment. The lamb shank was excellent; nice tender meat, tasty rice, and delicious supplemental flavors from the figs and apricots. Overall, a very nice lunch.
