The dental hygienists and office staff have always been wonderful, and that is the only reason I am giving more than one star. Unfortunately, after the long-time dentist left, our experience significantly declined with the new dentist. Over time, three different members of my family, including my parents, had negative experiences with dental work that resulted in additional appointments, pain, extra expense, and corrective work. After multiple incidents, we ultimately decided to remove our entire family from this office. I am genuinely disappointed because we had been patients here for many years and previously had a great experience. While the new dentist may simply need more experience, we no longer feel comfortable trusting our dental care to this practice. read more

I would give more stars if possible. I hadn't seen a dentist in nearly 20 years, aside from a root canal that I never went back to have capped. I was extremely anxious and knew I needed a lot of work done. When I first called to make an appointment, the woman who answered the phone was incredibly kind and patient -- I actually started crying due to my anxiety, and she was so reassuring and supportive. At my first visit, the woman who took my X-rays was exceptionally gentle and very mindful of my anxiety and my difficulties with X-rays. When Dr. Dañganan came in, she was kind, professional, and straightforward in a way that actually helped keep me calm and grounded. They offered me a sedated, all-day appointment to take care of as much as possible, and it went extremely well. Dr. D even called me that evening and again the following day to check on me, which meant so much. Today, I had a deep cleaning, and I honestly can't believe how gentle Rachel was. Every single person I've interacted with -- at every visit -- has been compassionate, patient, and amazing. When the first thing I'm asked at this dentist office is how would I like to pay, I'm on high-alert. Pay? I'm a new patient, I have no history with this office, and I certainly haven't had any work done or received an exam. When I asked what I'm paying for, all the woman said was, " For our service." Uh, okay. My first impression, and the reason I'd never set foot in there again, is hearing all of the staff members talk/yell to one another from different areas in the office. In short, I was given a price for what they said I needed. It was the most outrageous thing I've read. When I went to another doctor in town, I paid $180 for a cleaning and one cavity filled. Dr. Dawud Muhaimin and his staff are amazing! I always hated going to the dentist; even getting my sensitive teeth cleaned was painful. I ended up making an appointment with Compassionate Care when a tooth went bad and the dentist I'd gone to for years wasn't able to get me in for a month and a half! Dr. Muhaimin got me in within a couple of days, and i was so impressed by him and his very caring staff that i will go there from now on. They did two crowns and didn't hurt me! The staff enjoys working there, too - you'll hear more laughter than drilling They provide individual cubicles so you don't see everyone else getting work done, and you don't feel like you're at a cattle call! I've been coming here for a few years now the staff has always been so friendly and patient with me I get a lot of anxiety when it comes to needles and they always talk me through it and give me advice on how to stay calm they never make me feel ashamed they answer all my questions and show me the x-rays so I can see where the cavities are. I had a lot of terrible experiences at the dentist as kid and it made it really hard for me to go to the dentist but compassion care dental has helped me a lot with that now I look forward to cleanings and actually enjoy being at the dentist I have so much more positive things I could say about coming here but if I make this review too long no one will want to read it lol read more

Staff is friendly, and that's the extent of care. If you have all the time in the world to continue to keep going back so they can keep fixing their mistakes, sure, go ahead and take your chances. January 2022 had two crowns put in. One has a cavity, and the other still hurts. So, a year and a half later, in an attempt to fix the one with the cavity 7.5 hours later over a 3 day period, it is still in absolute pain. 4 hours on march 17th for the work, 1.5 hours on March 26th to put the temporary crown back in. 2 hours on march 29 to put in the permanent crown to still be in pain, unable to eat, drink, or breathe air without wanting to pull the dam tooth out myself is ridiculous. Oh, did i mention dental insurance didn't cover most of this work the first time and another 600 and some dollars later, Im literally paying people to make my pain worse. Save your money, save your time, and go somewhere else. Friendly staff isn't enough!!!! read more

I had no cavities the year before moving to Vacaville. I went to Compassionate Care and was told I had 14 cavities and needed 5 new crowns. I was given an estimate of over $4,000 after my insurance paid their part. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and I needed ZERO dental work other than a routine cleaning. The staff were nice-ish but too much socializing amongst themselves. They were so into their personal conversation, they didn't even bother to make sure that I paid for my visit. They handed me my future appointment card - with the incorrect date on it, and just dismissed me. I had to stand there and flag someone else to ask them if they wanted me to pay or not. It was unprofessional and weird. The staff kept having issues taking my x-rays, which was odd. I never had that happen before. The dentist was pleasant but made a condescending remark when I told him I didn't want braces. I wasn't even there for that anyway. Chair side manner for all of them was lacking and not very 'compassionate' at all. Mostly though, the fact that they not only wrote down an incorrect future appointment date but couldn't even seem to bother making sure that I paid left a bad impression. I just left Compassionate Care Dental and I had the best dental experience ever. I needed a crown and Dr. Waude (not sure of spelling) performed the removal of an old crown and gave me a new one the same day. I suffer from hypertension and I had to go back 3 times until my blood pressure. They are really compassionate and caring people. The staff cared about my health first. My first initial visit at Compassionate care Dental was great, being that I have not seen a dentist for some time the dental asst that took my x ray's was very skilled, she was also training a student, and she was very thorough with the student and when the student seem to be struggling she was very patient, with her after all the x rays was done the dental asst set and talked just about random stuff but we had a nice conversation, she made me feel at ease, which was so very nice, when the dentist came in he too was very personable and talked for a minute before he did my exam, during the exam he was very gentle so this is just my initial visit so I hope all goes well during my next visit and the first impression is hopefully a lasting one. read more

About six months ago Dr. Muhaimin said I have decay in one tooth and need one crown after I said I had sensitivity in that tooth, but I decided to put it off. Last week, the female Dr. said my fillings have leakage and that I need one root canal immediately, one crown, and that I had decay in both teeth. This time I didn't mention the sensitivity I had in one tooth, and both teeth the female Dr. mentioned were different from those Dr. Muhaimin recommended and which were actually sensitive. Both doctors looked at the exact same x-rays. By now I knew one or both doctors were being less than truthful, so yesterday I went to a different dentist office to get another opinion. This time I didn't mention the sensitivity I had in one tooth to get an unbiased opinion. The Dr looked at the same x-rays forwarded by Elmira Road Dental Care and examined my teeth and he found NO decay and no treatment needed at this time. Get this, even though I didn't tell him about my one sensitive tooth he asked me if that tooth was giving me pain and he told me that it did NOT have decay, but a crack and in the future I may want to consider a crown if that tooth bothers me. Needless to say I WON'T be going back to Elmira Road Dental Care. read more

I'm a new patient here and I have to say that I really enjoy the environment that is projected here as opposed to my previous dental care offices. Everything seems well organized. Everyone is really nice (doctor, hygienist, assistants, etc.. ), and they make your visit real comfortable. The doctor here is pretty funny and easy to get along with, which I assume makes patients feel less nervous. The hygienist (Charlene) is very nice and she definitely knows what she's doing. She's makes her job look too easy. Also, the flat screen TV they have available for you above the patient chairs really help move things along. The past dental offices I've been a part of never had this available to their patients. Watching a movie while your teeth are being cleaned, or whatever the case may be, makes everything go by so quick. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this dental office and everything it has to offer. Transferring here was a good move and I think you should do the same. read more

I went to this office in severe pain after i was told they could remove my wisdom tooth that was the cause of my pain over the phone for under 300$. When i go there they do x rays and tell me everything i told them on the phone again but now they cant help me amd refer me somewhere else. I asked the dentist for pain pills and she looked at me like i had insulted her and told me that i could get them from the next office i went to... then on my way out after paying 65$ for pretty much nothing the nurse who wasnt even helping me yelled across the office to make sure i paid 65$ before i left.. I cannot begin to put into words how grateful I am for Dr. Chen and the staff at CCD! For years I have been anxious about going to the Dentist and getting work done. After scary past experiences and chronic health issues it has been hard to find a dentist that I can trust. After months of pain I finally went in and they were able to make accommodations for me that same day, as well as work with my specialist to ensure that everything was safe for my health as far as procedures I would be having done and if I were to choose sedation. Worst customer service ever....and I never made it inside the front door. I called to schedule my first appointment at this dentist officer and explained to the receptionist my job requires me to be on call and work various hours. She explained first time customers must be seen on a week day. I made the appointment however warned I might have to reschedule to do work. Lord behold I was not able to make the appointment due to work. I called hours before my appointment was scheduled to cancel. I rescheduled my apt again warning if I had to come on a week day I may be called out. And the second apt. I again had to cancel (my dog had to go to the emergency vets office because I was told she was throwing up blood) .... However this time the receptionist informed me Not to call back because I was not welcome to reschedule my apt. She stated they do not work with first time customers if they cancelled twice. This left me astonished. Then she had the nerve to tell me their accountant would contact me to explain their policy. It has now been over a week and I have not heard from them. I would rather keep driving to Walnut Creek to see a dentist than try to keep working with this office. ****update. Instead of calling me like they said they choose to post a comment on Yelp. My wife went in for a cleaning and to discuss having some work done. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And she really liked the dentist. They really seem to care. She made an appointment to have the work done later. Then they charged my account immediately, rather than after the work was done. I left a message that I was upset by this. Someone from the office called back and stated that my wife had authorized pre-payment, which my wife said wasn't what she understood, nor was it her intention. Regardless, they offered to reverse the charges immediately. It may have been a misunderstanding. And they handled it well. We cancelled the appointment to get the work done. But this was going to be cancelled anyway due to a scheduling conflict. She rescheduled the appointment to get the work done as she really like this office. And she wants to give it a second chance. I was in the market for a new dentist and someone recommended Dr. Muhaimin so I visited the Compassionate Care Dental website. I decided to request an appointment through the website and wait for a call. About 1 week passed and I didn't get a call so I called the office myself. I must say, I was not impressed by the customer service over the phone especially as a new patient. The girl seemed tired and irritated that I had called through her tone. I called happy and hung up a little perturbed. Anywho, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived for my appointment by the upbeat atmosphere after my experience over the phone. There were pictures everywhere of the staff and things that they've done together. Everyone was smiling. There were before and after pictures of customers. It seems like a great place to work and be a patient. I was happy to be there. A young dental assistant in training helped get me x-rayed and prepped. She did a great job and was very sweet. Staff was available to her for questions as she needed help. Dr. Muhaimin was awesome!!! He made me feel at ease the entire time and explained everything he was doing. The hygienist was friendly as well. Dr. Muhaimin recommended work in which I would need to call back to schedule once I had my calendar. So I called a few days later and was met again with a tired irritated personality over the phone. Additionally, Dr. Muhaimin didn't have any appointments available for weeks because of a vacation. Ugggh! I scheduled with another dentist in the office because that worked best for my schedule. But that totally sucked because I now have to get comfortable with another dentist. I'm sure it will be fine. I recommend Compassionate Care Dental ensure that their telephony service is a good as the service that is received by the staff once you're in office. The two definitely did not match for me. If I had based my choice in dental office on my experience over the phone I probably would not have chosen this office. But you know what? I'm glad I did. My husband and I both came here and we both had work done. His right side hurt before he went in and hurts even worse after the appointment and it's been a few weeks. Before I went in I had no pain whatsoever. After my appointment I can't even chew on EITHER side of my mouth. My teeth are now very sensitive and it was not worth going. Going to the dentist is the worst possible thing I can think of to do. So I waited much to long to go. I had to get 3 fillings, a deep root cleaning and a RC. I didn't allow them to use the word for that last procedure because it is just an awful word. They were so patient and understanding of my fears. I had a list of questions a mile long and never once did they get frustrated or make fun of me I opted to go with sedation dentistry. I have no idea why everyone who is afraid doesn't do that!! Afterward I asked my husband if it was time to go to the dentist and he explained that I was done. That's totally cool for a big chicken like me!!!! I would highly recommend this dentist. BET HALF OF YOU DONT MAKE IT THROUGH THIS REVIEW..... Let's just start with the name of the place. Compassionate Care Dental. Let me tell you...compassionate THEY ARE!! This staff, down to the receptionist...I cannot say enough. I was a victim about 8 years ago, in another state entirely, of sexual assault...at the hand of a dentist while under sedation. This instance left me paralyzed with fear to ever go back to the dentist. Well, turns out it doesn't matter how well you brush, you can't escape wisdom teeth ‍. Broken wisdom teeth and in agony I had to find a dentist, and fast! Let me just start off, I am not religious in anyway...however, spiritual...very much so. I asked spirit to guide me where I would feel safe and could get the help I needed for my mouth so badly. New to Vacaville, only 5 months, I don't have friends here yet. No one to recommend ‍. Then it happened. Driving home from Walgreens picking up more Tylenol and ibuprofen for my mouth on Elmira I just happen to look and see COMPASSIONATE CARE DENTAL . I went home and gave them a call. I shared my tragic past with my past dentist and....boy let me explain to you the amount of support I got, from this office!! Incredible!! Unbelievable!!! They got me in the very next day. They have an entire female office for the exception of 1 man. They let me go at my speed. During the examination, the light of her headlamp did start to trigger a flash back from before and I started to faint. The staff immediately stopped, sat me upright, gave me oxygen and water and we took a break. I was not rushed. Hurried or belittled in anyway. My fears of the dentist now...much better. Although, the trauma from the first will always be there, I can't explain how thankful I am for Compassionate Care Dental. For the staff, who are truly strangers to you at first, just instantly accept, understand and just have an innate knowing for what their patients need and how they need it...you can't put a price on that!! After suffering dental injury in 1985 and after going through ten different dentist over the years and spending countless hours and money on my teeth, I was never quite satisfied. Dr. Muhaimin and his truly unbelievable staff took years to reconstruct my teeth. I was always terrified of the dentist six I was six. I never had any severe pain during or after countless surgeries. Since I was a child and had my first dental visit I was scarred for life. I'm a military spouse and I have lived in a few different states. I have been in Vacaville for almost a year. I found this dentist a few months ago and I'm so grateful I did. The staff is professional and compassionate. DR. DAÑGANAN is AMAZING!!!! Note this an EDITED version of my last review from around June of this year that was removed for so called "personal attacks" when I NEVER mentioned the name of any particular person I had a problem with. I guess some of my language was too strong (but justified)... LOL... So again, for your viewing pleasure and to make sure everyone knows how this place sucks (especially for complaining about my review). If you can't take the heat, stay outta the kitchen please! ok i am totally irritated with this place now... so much that i'm just going to switch dentists. the first time i went here the dentist was apparently just a fill in for the one who actually works there. i just found that out at this appt when i met the actual dentist who works there. It would have been nice to know that the first time I went. Charlene, the hygenist was nice, no problems with her. The dentist came in after my teeth were cleaned and took a look at my teeth. He gave his recommendations and then the lady with the financial figures came in. The dentist recommended I have fillings to cover my roots that were partially exposed causing sensitivity in that area... I've had another dentist tell me that in 2004 or 2005 and then I went to 2 other dentists since who said that as long as it didn't bother me, that was not necessary. I have been using Sensodyne and have not had ANY problems in that area since! Only when the dentists touch it with their metal tools did it bother me. The odd thing is he said it was from grinding my teeth... but the others said it was from brushing too hard. Sounds fishy to me, but I guess its just a difference of opinion. Anyway, I think I'll just keep it as is for now... this place is very proactive, just like Vacaville Dental Care, another modern joint in Vacaville Commons center. BTW, they have a larger, NICER office with even more modern technology AND they let me pay in installments unlike this place who asked for payment in full up front. The MAIN reason I am NOT coming back here is the office appointment system is RETARDED. When I tried to reschedule my appt I called at least 3 different times during the day in the work week and I kept getting an answering machine so I finally just left them a message. They did not call be back until about 2 days later. When it finally came closer to my appt, they called my cell phone THREE TIMES and my house phone TWO TIMES requesting I call back to confirm. I did not answer their calls because I thought they were just trying to remind me. SERIOUSLY??? WHO DOES THAT except for psycho stalkers??? RIDICULOUS. I've seen 3 dentists over my lifetime on a regular basis and NONE OF THEM DO THAT. REALLY FIVE CALLS TO ME IS OVERDOING IT. Usually, they just call as a reminder WITHOUT expecting a return call, unless you are canceling or rescheduling. When I brought it up to the staff, the chick who called said she does that to ensure I keep the appt because a lot of people forget their appt if it's made 6 mos prior otherwise they charge $50 for missing your appt! Is it really any wonder why so many people "miss" their appt when you're such a anal rententive moron! GET REAL. I'm a freakin' adult, I don't need the obsessed front desk person breathing down my neck. The funny part is that the older woman who was going over the financial figures kept her mouth shut when I was talking to that anal chick like she has nothing to do with it. BTW, i was on vacation in hawaii during half those calls and I didn't think they actually expect me to call them back to confirm I was coming... that was the whole reason for making an APPOINTMENT in the first place. For the office staff to have such poor faith in the patients speaks louder than anything else and behooves me to take my dental needs elsewhere, where the staff is less annoying and not so incompetent that they do not understand the meaning of customer service. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and they treated me so well. They didn't make me feel ashamed like some have in the past. Very friendly and welcoming dentist and staff. They did a complete exam and xrays and told me all the work I need done and prioritized it for me. They even gave me some lower cost alternatives that I could do on my own (mouth guard for grinding my teeth at night). They weren't pushy at all, just advised me on what was best for my health. I appreciated that. Dr. Muhaimin was very kind, friendly and gentle. I eventually had to have a wisdom tooth pulled and he talked me through the entire procedure to let me know what to expect every step of the way, reducing my fear and anxiety greatly. And before I knew it it was over. I'd always heard what a nightmare it is to have wisdom teeth pulled - it wasn't a nightmare it all, it was pretty easy and painless! This is now my dental office and I highly recommend them to everyone. Amazing care and service! read more

I went in because one of my crowns was bothering me. (My first visit to this office since I recently moved) They quickly got me in, took x-rays and pictures of my teeth and Dr. Danganan then took a quick look to see what was going on. A few tests later and she quickly determined that it was best to try to just adjust the crown, seeing that it was hitting on another tooth, likely causing the discomfort. 5 minutes later and I was already able to close my mouth without pain. She did a great job of explaining everything that she was planning to do before she did it and today my tooth is back to feeling great with no pain. Lots of other dentists would have likely just jumped straight to a root canal and new crown. Yes, it is still possible that I might need it down the line, but Dr. Danganan took the less aggressive (and less expensive/intrusive) approach of trying to address the issue with the simplest solution first. The office is very clean/comfortable with movies, etc. to watch during your procedures. The staff seem more like an extended family than the typical stale dental office, keeping things light and comfortable for their patients. read more
