He's an avid wood tuner and his work shop (the garage) gets mighty cold during winter. His latest love is the Duluth Fire Hose Fleece-lined Relaxed fit pants. The pants have a microfleece lining that is very warm yet surprisingly lightweight and the large, deep cargo pockets resist punctures from the tools he uses. The 100% cotton canvas repels stains and water as well. One note: they wash extremely well but are very heavy when wet and a wimp like me has to transfer them from the washer to the dryer. No complaints, just a warning. LOL His other current favorite are the flannel shirts. There's a whole collection of them ranging from relaxed fit to untucked to fleece-lined and they are all on sale right this very minute. The brick and mortar store has deals you can't get online and vise versa so it's always a good idea to check both options. Many have concerns about the area where the store is located. And, yes, there have been high crime issues associated with the Jantzen Beach shopping center and many of the stores surrounding Duluth Trading Company are in fact closing. Homelessness is rampant in this part of town but the store is safe to shop in and I would suggest just being more vigilant about your surroundings. It's the times we live in.

But, not to worry, if you're on a budget, they have a trade-in program where they take back worn (in good/fair condition) items and re-sell them at a discounted price under their Eileen Fisher Renew collection. A circular fashion model where nothing goes to waste. This location is a bit bigger than the one in Bridgeport. The employees are very nice and helpful. I like the simple, timeless design of the clothing and the fabrics feel good against your skin. I always find something when I shop at Eileen Fisher. This time around I bought a maroon-colored top to add to my wardrobe. Now, if they would only open a storefront in Hawaii...

The store is huge, has many departments - swim, camping, women's, men's and children's apparel, hiking, biking, hats and accessories, fitness items, winter coats, rain gear and more. But within some areas, there is hardly any merchandise. For example, the Swim section was minimal. There was a big sign and display, but turns out that was it. Literally just a handful of swimsuits, one or two rash guards, no goggles, fins or gear. Did I mention just a handful of swimsuits? Was highly disappointed but since I was there, decided to walk the aisles. The vast majority of the store is filled with clothing. Racks and racks of clothing. Like it's sister store and neighbor, Marshall's, they must get leftover clothing from other stores and sell at a discount. There are definitely good finds among the racks, but I wasn't shopping for clothing and didn't have the patience. Ended up buying a wide brimmed sun hat with SPF of 50 for just $16.99. There were only three customers at the checkout but it still seemed to take forever. Of course this area is filled with a plethora of spontaneous purchases - trail mix, gadgets of every kind, hiking books, flashlights, etc. For me, Sierra will never be a destination like Marshall's where I will go far out of my way to visit. But for those who want outdoorsy clothing, this could be your Marshall's.

This Columbia Outlet store had so many great deals, it was overwhelming…read more I stopped by here yesterday afternoon because I'm in the market for some new winter outerwear. I was specifically hoping to find boots and/or a jacket. On top of having an entire floor full of clearance jackets, they also had about a dozen racks under tents outside of the store. It seemed like they probably had every Columbia jacket that had been made within the past few years. There was also a ton of Mountain Hardware and Sorel. The Mountain Hardware jackets were about 25-50% off, which was still significantly cheaper than REI or anywhere else that I know of. I ended up feeling so overwhelmed by the jacket selection that I decided I needed to do some research, and come back. I ended up leaving with two pairs of snow boots: 1 Columbia, and 1 Sorel. I got both pairs for $55, including tax and a very small roundup for the National Park fund. I've been looking for boots for a couple of weeks, and the cheapest I've found comparable boots anywhere else was anywhere from $69-129. So, I was beyond stoked to find two pairs I liked in the clearance section. They were also having a store wide BOGO half-off sale, which is how the total ended up so low. I didn't have, and have actually never had any of the issues with outlet stores that other people brought up in their reviews. I used to work at the outlets in Folsom. Most of the merchandise isn't damaged or defective-- it's just overstock or barely out of season. The boots that I purchased are honestly of similar quality to brand new boots from DSW. I just got really lucky (and have a seventh sense for when things will be on sale due to all my years of working in retail). Staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and I would definitely shop here again.

Loft is located in the West courtyard, it took me forever to find this store. I had parked by REI,…read morebut you can't cut through, so walked down to Macy's, in the rain, entered there and had to walk super far to find the door to go outside in the rain again, to reach Loft. By the time I arrived, I was dripping wet, tired and frustrated. The only reason I kept going, was I had to return an online purchase. Note to others: if this is your only destination, put West courtyard in your map search and park on 2nd level by the entrance! Once inside, the reps were nice, one even went and found the smaller sized shirt I needed for the exchange, and they processed the return of the dress quickly. Loft is not a store I frequent, in fact, I only made the online purchase because a button up denim midi dress kept stalking me on Instagram. Not knowing my Loft size, I bought two to try on, and had to return one. The denim dress is gorgeous, fits perfectly, and is a classic, timeless style that I can wear for years. I'm super happy with my purchase, if not the frustrating experience of trying to find this store. Next time I'll go to the Hillsboro location where you can just pull up in front of the store.

It has a larger variety of clothing, the store is much bigger, and it seems to get new arrivals a lot faster. The staff are always extremely friendly, even knowing their repeated customers by name (I'm not so sure that's a healthy reflection of my shopping habits). Denise and Shirly are always SO sweet and helpful-they're my go-to girls. The employees are also always wearing Loft clothing so they do a great job representing the brand and giving clients ideas on how to wear certain pieces (even helping them out of their comfort zones!) Even if it's extremely busy (like it was today) I'm always greeted with a friendly smile and given updates on what is new. Both the store and dressing rooms are very clean and organized, making it easy to browse and find what you're looking for. What can I say, I'm a Loft girl for life.
