Walmart so yesterday…read more It's been awhile since I've stepped into a Meyer. Was I shocked. Now I knew this was a supermarket. IDK it was so much more. It's reminded me of a Super Walmart just way more organized. Everything is where it was suppose to be. Really how many times have you walked into a Walmart and found a rubber ball in the bread department or a pack of frozen hamburger defrosting in the can soup section? People just don't think. I looked to find things out of place and didn't see anything. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying there was so much staff that it taken care of right away if needed. Aside from the food, there's a craft section, an auto section, a hardware section, a garden section, well you get the idea. And this particular Fred Meyer is the smaller one for the area. THE SMALLER ONE?!?!?!? Overall four stars. This place has everything. I'm not giving five stars because I wasn't here long enough to really justify it. But it's close to being there. Now excuse me, forgot I came here for an energy drink. Well it's an excuse to explore more :)

Look like they had one other that somebody was using. This is common for me at the store to find either of them all in this repair or have no charge. We stayed in the city and took a day trip to hike in the nearby Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. We stopped by this outlet mall to pick up some items for hiking. This outlet mall is conveniently located right off I-84 exit 17 (Marine Drive / 257th Avenue) in Troutdale, Oregon. Troutdale is a suburb of Portland. The two cities are about 16 miles apart and both are located in Multnomah County. The outlet mall is about halfway between Portland and where we hiked (Wahkeena Falls). Great location for what we needed. Columbia Gorge Outlets is one of the smaller outlet malls I've visited. The size and look of it is more akin to a typical American suburban shopping center than a sprawling outlet mall. In terms of appearance and amenities, it was pretty standard. Before heading out, a few of us used the restrooms by the mall's offices on the south side of the property. Overall, the property was clean and expectedly peaceful and quiet during our visit on a Friday morning around 10:38am.

The stores are clean and well maintained making it a pleasant shopping experience. Especially in a nice day since this is an outdoor shopping area. Of course they also have jeans, and now a days, they are offered in a wide range of styles and sizes. Straight, wide, super wide, baggy, barrel (not for me) and slim, skinny. This outlet mall has never been a destination for me like Woodburn Outlet Mall is - Woodburn has 20X the number of stores - but since I am always driving the Hood River to Portland route, it's definitely worth a stop.
