We love the Pen Pet team! We went with Pen Pet as they offered laparoscopic spay with gastroplexy which we were looking for with our GSD. Dr. Harish did a wonderful job and the recovery was perfect and much better than our friends who did traditional spay. We also truly appreciate how responsive and kind the entire staff at Pen Pet is. Every time we had any concerns, we were able to call/email and get super helpful and detailed support. Honestly the best vet we've ever had, and we are so thankful our primary vet is so awesome.

If you're looking for a caring vet's office, I highly recommend Peninsula Pet Hospital. Their staff is welcoming and friendly. You can tell everyone there really cares about the patients and they always treated my 11 year old dog Maddie very well. Sadly we recently found out that she had bone cancer and there wasn't much we could do to save her quality of life. She was my first dog so deciding on when and how to euthanize her was really difficult. I decided to make an appointment with Peninsula Pet Hospital and I'm so glad I did. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and treated us and her with the upmost respect. Afterwards they even sent us a nice card signed by the whole staff and a lucky bamboo plant to help with our grief. Thank you Dr. Ulla for giving Maddie a peaceful goodbye.

Dr Samar khan was professional and a wonderful vet! She truly cares about her patients and their parents and will always do her best for them. Highly recommend!

We were fortunate to have Peninsula Pet Hospital as our Yorkie's vet during her senior years. Dr. Harish, Dr. Ulla, and the entire staff are knowledgable, patient, and down-to-earth good people who really love their furry patients. With previous vets, I never felt completely comfortable with the information I received and always felt like they were more interested in making money instead of the overall current and preventative care of your pup. After going to Peninsula Pet Hospital, I always felt comfortable and ensured that our little Cookie was getting the best care with her exams, vaccinations, and leg surgery. The doctors always explained any care with why it mattered and also sharing options so that we could make the best decision together. The front desk staff are efficient, on top of things, and always kind. They made things like getting necessary info required for our pet insurance, making/changing appts, and getting a hold of the doctors a breeze. If you're looking for a "forever" vet for your furry family member, I highly recommend PPH!

Loved it...

After calling around San Jose (where I live and work), no one seemed to care that my poor animal was suffering. That's when I decided to make the journey through commuter traffic to Palo Alto on recommendation from a coworker. And I must say, WOW! From the start, I felt at ease as soon as I walked in the door. The staff, through the ranks, were so attentive, I immediately felt as ease. They called/texted with updates and gave me tons of valuable information. The staff were all very informative, yet realistic about the situation. I picked up my pet later that day and thankfully, they were able to help him. It's been 3 days and my cat is now eating and playing again. The staff will also text me on occasion to follow up and make recommendations. He has a bit more healing to do, but he's only alive and improving thanks to the staff at the Animal Doctors. Special thanks to Dr. Chen and Tammy. Both of you truly care about your patients/clients, something that seems very rare now a days. Persimmon the cat, my family and I are forever grateful.

The team never made me feel like it was an imposition and their policy of cancelling 4 hours ahead was reassuring. But as I saw my dog decline day by day, and the morning off he didn't want to eat - I decided to called early morning hours to see if there was availability that day. Dr. Karen Vine was patient, compassionate and empathetic, walking me thru step by step the process. When I contacted Restful Paws, I didn't know what to expect. In fact, I felt bad crying on the phone because I couldn't imagine trying to talk to someone like me at that moment. But the staff couldn't be more understanding and supportive. Unlike making end of life decisions for your fur baby, the process of scheduling this appointment was very easy. Restful Paws asked all the right questions, set the expectations, and made this process that much easier. And on the day of, Dr. Ami arrived promptly at the scheduled time. She was very caring and understanding, and she put all of us at ease. We could not have asked for a better last day for our Sodapop. I'm thankful that we reached out to restful pause, and grateful that they were able to come to our house to help us get through this phase. Weeks later, we received a card from Dr. Ami sending us her condolences. Thank you, Restful Paws, for doing the service that you do. I'm sure it's not easy, and I can only imagine how sad it is to do this on a daily basis. Thank you so much!

Even though we lived over 30 minutes away, we always returned to them because their compassion and attentiveness far surpassed other clinics. In his final years, Poko was treated for cardiac valve disease. Dr. Rosen's expertise and kindness gave us comfort and clarity during that difficult time. She helped us understand his condition and the treatments that gave us more time together. Veterinary care is one of the hardest jobs, and Dr. Rosen does it with grace, empathy, and deep knowledge. And to their credit, all the staff are kind and welcoming to the pets they treat. I'll never forget the love and care they showed to Poko--and to us.

I used to bring my dog to Village Square Vets and also to Adobe in Los Altos…read more Yesterday, I brought my dog to Adobe for his dental care appointment after avoiding it for three years due to a very very bad experience at Village Square Vets three years ago with Dr. St Lawrence. It was a simple cleaning, no teeth extractions or complications. Dr St Lawrence administered a cocktail of anesthesia which did not suit my dog at all and he did not monitor him. Apparently, he left the room to see another patient. My dog had bradycardia during the procedure and this wasn't noticed by whomever was cleaning his teeth. When I picked him up, my dog could barely stagger to the car. In fact , he stumbled around for several days more, not eating or drinking . At that point, I was panic stricken and called ST Lawrence. He admitted to me that he had left the room to attend to another patient and that my dog was overseen by an assistant, with no anesthesiologist present to monitor. My dog had suffered bradycardia while St Lawrence was gone and the assistant did not know. He was apologetic, but hey this was borderline malpractice IMHO. Three years later, just yesterday ,I brought my dog to Adobe for a dental cleaning and 3 teeth were extracted. He was almost completely normal that same afternoon. I realize now just how poor the procedure was at Village Square. Awful and the cost for a simple cleaning was very high, more than at Adobe . Adobe Los Altos is far more reasonable by comparison and one can be certain that the care is outstanding, the facilities without equal, and the vets extremely capable as they have vets who specialize in doing dental procedures.

I had a very difficult experience with this SAGE emergency vet services, and I feel conflicted…read moreabout how to review them because there were both compassionate and deeply frustrating aspects of my time with them. First, I want to acknowledge that the staff were kind, gentle, and clearly cared about both me and my cat. During an incredibly emotional time, they treated us with empathy, and I'm grateful for that. However, my cat was in renal failure, and I don't feel that I was ever given a clear or honest understanding of how serious her condition truly was. I was repeatedly told that her situation was treatable, particularly once she started eating again. She ended up staying there for three nights, and while I was told she had begun eating at the clinic, when I brought her home she still wasn't eating and was in very poor condition. What's most difficult for me is that she passed away the day after I brought her home, after I had spent nearly $16,000 on her care. Looking back, I strongly wish someone had been more candid with me about her prognosis and whether euthanasia might have been the most humane option. I feel like I wasn't given the information I needed to make an informed decision about her end-of-life care. I don't doubt the compassion of the staff, but I do wish there had been clearer communication and more medical guidance during such a critical time. For anyone going through something similar, I would encourage asking very direct questions about prognosis and quality of life, as I wish I had been guided more firmly in that direction.

I will never forgive this, and I will never return. If you love your pet, do not take that risk…read more My 9-year-old cat, Nico, started vomiting foul-smelling yellow fluid for several days. Mid-Peninsula has been our go-to clinic, so I called for an appointment--only to hear, as usual, that they were booked weeks out. When the receptionist suggested a drop-off appointment, I agreed because I wanted my baby seen as soon as possible. After blood work, X-rays, and $1,200 later, Nico was diagnosed with constipation. He was given medication for bowel movement and vomiting. No urgency. No alarm. Two weeks later, his symptoms returned--and worsened. We rushed him to emergency care, where he was immediately diagnosed with lymphoma and taken straight into surgery. I understand that lymphoma carries a poor prognosis. What I cannot accept is that this clinic missed it completely. If the veterinarian had gotten it right the first time, Nico could have been spared three additional weeks of suffering. Animals cannot explain their pain. That is exactly why veterinarians are trusted with their lives. If you lack the compassion, attention, or medical judgment required to properly evaluate a sick animal, you should not be practicing medicine--let alone charging families thousands of dollars for false reassurance. This was not just a mistake. It was a failure that caused unnecessary suffering to a defenseless animal and devastating emotional pain to my family.

I actually wrote a review about 4 days ago trying to relate my horrific experience, but apparently someone had it taken down. I will also post my experience on social media where they might not be able to stop my voice. I have had 20 dogs in my lifetime, sometimes 2or 3 at a time and I have never run across a more callous, money driven group of Bets in my life. My Emme, at 12-13 started to get very disoriented and behaving in ways completely out of character for her so I called this vet practice and asked to speak with Dr. Forgette, the doctor she's been seeing the last 7 years. I couldn't really get a hold of her but I went ahead and made an appointment for the following day. She wasn't as sick as she would get in the following days but I agreed to a blood test to see what was going on. I have always told the vet and practice that I am on a very limited income. I only received social security and that's it. I also told them that I have cancer that's being treated with radiation and a rare form of an autoimmune disease. I told them these things not to garner sympathy, but to make them aware of my dire straits and everything I wanted to do for Emme nevertheless. I asked them to split payments, or to let me pay it off monthly but instead of trying everything to help Emme I was made to feel like we were so unimportant compared to other clients with money. I know that it's a sign of the times to be less involved with others and to keep a distance from those things that might not be that pleasant , but I found a callousness here that goes beyond words. Emme passed away last Tuesday with tremendous help from the humane society of silicone valley. I cannot say enough about how kind they were to both Emme and myself. I hope when you select a place for your animals care you please give thought not to select this practice. I'd like to add that no one from this practice ever offered their condolences.
