Conveniently located within an hour or so of Escanaba, Munising, Marquette and other day trips in the U.P. Michael was great at recommending a route for our fall color drive, too! We rented the kitchenette, with two adjoining rooms. A really great price. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, and coffee was provided. Full size refrigerator was a plus. New carpeting and bedding - and very clean throughout. Small bathroom was clean and newly finished. Small patio sitting area outside the room was very cute. TVs in both bedrooms with cable. Dining area in kitchen for eating in, which we did take advantage of. Behind the motel is a large wooded area where we took our dog for morning walks. Very dog friendly. Michael was great at providing extra towels, paper towels and other items upon request. This is a great local motel and I highly recommend it! The owners obviously take great care in maintaining this little retro gem in the U.P.

The road noise can be loud at times but we live in Milwaukee by a freeway so we are used to the street noise. The room we had was not very big, the door hit the bed. I should have asked for a double bed room as we would have had more room. It worked for us but I felt cramped.

That's the only semi-negative thing I will say about this place, The hotel is nice, the workers were nicer, the rooms were clean and the halls were quiet. The continental breakfast was pretty solid too. Bananas (finally! after 9 days in Michigan hotels, I was beginning to think there was a law against them) mini omelets, bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls, turkey sausage and a pancake machine. The real star of this hotel is the back patio view. Sitting on their deck enjoying the views of Lake Superior while having a cold beverage is pretty amazing. The rooms with lake views have their own balconies or you can be a cheap ass like me and share the patio with the others.

It was just what the doctor ordered and aleviated my pain. I visited with my service dog and had no issues so long as he was wearing his vest. The staff was helpful and courteous. They even followed up with a text message to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The restaurant on site was quite pricy. I did not try the coffee shop that brewed their own local coffee. Our room was recently renovated. It was perfect for us since we parked right outside the door. It was tastefully decorated with scenes of Michigan's natural beauty. Small stove, refrigerator, 2 bedrooms with l sized beds (yes they were tiny). Kitchen was stocked with any implement I would need to make a dinner. Direct TV. It is right on the bay (Big Bay de Noc) and was filled with people there to fish (not sure which kind of fish they were catching). VERY VERY clean. A Mr Coffee and a perculator are there, even filters for the drip maker. There was cubes in the trays. dishes and silverware, cups plates, bowls etc. Stop in cities either east or west of motel for groceries. Water was The owner is very nice and the best [part is any taxes or extra charges are figured into the fee so it was $72.00 a night. The only downfall I found were the tiny overly bouncy beds, but I will put up them for what I got. WIFI far from good, more like dial-up, but that is what you get in the sticks. There is a fire pit. There is a bit of beachfront but lots of weeds Close to a nice beach and many attractions. I will stay here again! If looking for stuff to do while here, Fayette state park is incredible and is Big Springs state park. A bit further away is the cities of Escanaba, Manistique, Munising, Gladstone, and Marquette. You can stay as busy as you want.
