    Crab cake sandwich

Not fancy more of a local dive but I had the best crab cake ever! It was so full of lump crab meat it would barely hold together. My experience in the past they are full of breading and you have to go on an expedition to find the crab meat. You could also taste the Old Bay seasoning which Maryland is known for. I would definitely go back. The price was also better than the big name place at the inner harbor out in the main seafood part of Baltimore.

"Bacon" Egg and Cheese on a Bagel (Egg Sandwich on Bagel Breakfast)

$6.63 for a Bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel where they forgot the bacon and have what looks like a single egg and half slice of cheese, and a bagel that's straight out of the Thomas' bag. This was just really disappointing for a place that has such good reviews.

A Greek owned eatery that serves Greek, Italian, and American foods. Our party of three dropped in for s late lunch and the place was almost empty. We ordered corn beef Reuben sandwich with fries, chicken Parmesan sub with fries, and lump crab cake sub with fries. All our sandwiches were really tasty, especially the crab cake. But the star of this show was the in house cut fries, fried and seasoned perfectly. The best fries ever. Prices were cheap for such excellent foods. Table services was attentive, friendly, and fast. Definitely we will eat there with every future visit to Baltimore.

Delicious soft shelled crab sandwich and garlicky coleslaw. Good service. I came in after 5pm as they were closing. They gladly took my order and served up some great local cuisine.

If you have…read morenever been here for lunch or dinner, you are missing something special and something quintessential Baltimore. We popped in for an early dinner on a Saturday night, arriving a little around 4:00 PM. Our friends had already arrived. Tammy, our server, had a table for us in just a few minutes. Tammy and Joyce have been with Samos for as long as I have been coming here. They both have great personalities and are very attentive to all of their customer's needs. Samos is a BYOB with a corkage fee, which was fine for us. We started with a cup of chicken noodle soup and a bowl of avgolemono soup (their classic Greek egg-lemon-chicken soup). Both soups were prepared fresh, delicious and filling. For the main course, each couple shared the Souvlaki Platter with two skewers of steak accompanied by roasted vegetables, tzatziki, and a Greek salad with their famous house dressing, along with grilled pita wedges. One platter had potatoes and one had rice. The steaks were cooked medium and seasoned perfectly. The platters were huge and more than enough for two people. Our friends decided to share a rice pudding for dessert that was sweet and creamy. Tammy suggested that we try a Galaktoboureko that she would make for us. Oh, my goodness, we were completely blown away with this dessert. It was a delectable semolina cream custard wrapped in filo, baked, and topped with honey syrup. We are definitely going to order this again. Don't let the long name intimate you - order this dessert - your taste buds will thank you. Thank you for a wonderful dinner with great service as usual!

She was so helpful, gave great recommendations, and was attentive. Our meals were delicious and fulfilling. You can tell the food is well crafted. We sat outside and were happy that the patio area wasn't very hot and that the nice large umbrellas protected us from the sun and were lit up when it got dark. We started with Saganaki, which included pita. It was flambed table side and delicious, we all loved it. We also had Calamari, I don't eat it but husband and daughter really enjoyed it. For entrees, husband had the special (filet mignon w/crab cake and shrimp on top), that came with mash potatoes and veggies. The steak was good but undercooked, the crab cake was good. Daughter had the pasta, she didn't really love it. I had the lamb shank with orzo. I don't usually like lamb but it was very tender and didn't have the aftertaste that usually comes with lamb. The service was very good, waiter was very attentive, replenished waters often and made good suggestions. Although we liked the restaurant, we felt that as a Greek restaurant there should be more Greek styled pork, chicken dishes. We also felt that some items were overpriced, specialty dish was $75, rib eye was $68, lamb shank was $55, roasted chicken was $39, etc. We will not return for another dinner, but might consider going for lunch to get gyros and Saganaki.

So you know I had to oblige and suggested that we try Estiatorio Plaka in Greektown. I always love venturing over to Greektown for some really good Greek food. And if you like Greek wine, their wine list is really extensive. Every wine on their list is carefully chosen from Greek regions to complement our menu, highlight its unique character, and bring an authentic taste of Greece to your table. We pretty much went straight to dinner we both wanted fish this particular evening. I had the LAVRAKI (BRANZINO) which was grilled with capers and oregano and my date wanted the snapper (LITHRINI (RED SNAPPER) , he loves snapper. Both dishes come with a choice of two sides which you can swap out. I chose the horta(field greens) and rice, my date chose the broccolini and roasted potatoes. To be honest the broccolini and roasted potatoes are your best bet. The horta was a tad bland for my liking and really need some seasoning. The rice was ok. For dessert we shared the baklava cheesecake. Soooo good. Baklava is my fave Greek dessert. They also have a nice cocktail and wine list. I plan on returning because they have a really nice happy hour with $1 oysters, $12 fish tacos and $7 espresso martini's, so that alone I am sold on. The decor in here is absolutely stunning, and they also have a really nice bakery to grab some desserts to take home if you like. So if you are in the Highlandtown neighborhood, make sure you stop in, you will not be disappointed SYOY
