Wow, GYROS, GYROS, GYROS! Gotta have 'em. They are great. You have to try the Lamb hops as well. Be prepared to go into a food coma. I absolutely love their Greek salad. Really like this place. Been too long since my last visit. Today is $7 Gyro Wednesday! Used to be $6. That's about a 15% increase. If you believe their rationale, it's justified as they've held the line at $6 for, in the food biz, a very long time. My son and I decided to go today. The house was packed with folks waiting for pick up orders. And the place was hot due to outside heat and the hvac system working overtime. Not to mention doors opening and closing a lot on one of their busiest days of the week. The gyros and fries ($5+ for a generous amount) were great. They replaced canned Pepsi products with bottled Coke products at $3.29. A little steep, imho, but necessary to keep the gyro special, and others, going. We'll return soon. Stopped in for a quick dinner on a Sunday night. There are a few tables and seats at a window counter, so not a ton of space to eat in if that's what you're looking for. The place was busy, mostly takeout orders flying off the counter. Service was friendly. No fountain soda, big sad face. The only options are bottles of drinks from the cooler. I ordered the bowl, it was a TON of food! It was good. The gyro meat was really good, everything else was pretty bland but came to life after being sauced up. I think the value is really there, you get a ton of meat. My husband ordered a gyro, he doesn't like tzitki (judged!) and asked for the spicy feta instead. She said she could do that but it would be ordered as an appetizer with pita. This annoyed me a bit but then it came and I loved the spicy feta so much that I was actually happy there was enough to share. That is a must order IMO. Kids meals are $9, which feels really high for what it is. Fries are top notch! Get the spicy feta! read more

I wanted to make sure I had a high protein dinner as a first time visitor. There was not a chicken skewer dinner on the menu. I would've had to order everything à la cart. I chose the big Greek feast that included pork, chicken,and gyro with two sides. I was not aware that the euro was in a pita wrap, and a pita came with the kebabs. My sides were broccoli, carrots, and a salad. It was filling. It was a lot. It's really for two or three people. I would preferred if the team member would've told me pitas came with the meal, otherwise I will not have ordered extra pita in addition to the entrée. read more

My brother told us we had to try out The Big Greek Café on a Wednesday for the $6.00 Gyro special. First of all, this is strictly a carry-out restaurant. They do have an area of counter seating and 4 two top tables, but that is it. There were 4 of us, and we were able to put 2 two top tables together so that we could eat in. My brother was right, the Gyro was huge - shaved beef and lamb served on pita bread. We all had the special. Our friends ordered a side of French fries. They were crisp and really good. We were so bad, we just dug right into the food and forgot to take pictures. The Big Greek Café is certainly worth coming to especially on Wednesday for the $6 Gyro. read more

Got carry out for dinner last week. Dolmades and hummus for starters were good and obviously homemade. Plenty of pitas squares came w/ hummus. We ordered gyro pita, chicken souvlaki pita and falafel bowl to split between 3 of us. Falafels were solid and had good spice but rest of bowl was uninspired. Gyro meat did not travel well and was tough and extremely salty. Had chicken pita the next day and it was ok but chicken just seemed like a sliced breast not anything done on a spit. I gave this place an extra star for the $6 Gyro Wednesday. This place has everything that you want as a fast food Greek cuisine. You're not going to get the best or the classiest, but you will get very solid Greek food made very quickly. One could argue about the cost for the quality that you're getting as I think the sides are a little overpriced but you can't argue about the pricing for the entrees. For me, Yasou down the street is more authentic and is family owned and more of a neighborhood restaurant. One of my favorite fast casual restaurants! We love the feisty feta dip (the best around and we have tried a lot!) The gyros are huge - packed full of gyro meat! We usually have leftovers the next day. It comes with a block of feta and pepperoncini. It wouldn't be complete without a side of Greek fries (feta and Greek seasoning - yum!) and baklava cheesecake (exactly what it sounds like and you will be in dessert heaven!). We always order online and pick up so the service is always fast and efficient. Don't forget Wednesdays are $6 gyros so you can't beat that deal! Found this gem by googling Greek food in the Timonium area. Went for dinner on Saturday night with another couple . Small inside but we had no problem getting a table, most people were getting takeout. My girlfriend and I got the Big Greek Bowl with falafel. Loved it! Hubby got the gyro and shared feta fries. Took a little time, maybe 10 minutes to get a Papou (gyro) salad and a falafel salad but so worth the little wait as both were freshly made and wonderful. I'm sorry but grew up in Greek town--these people don't know what they're doing. First of all , bought large Greek salad (the size of a side salad) and gyro. I knew instantly something was wrong when it was feather light and both clamshell containers were packed in a plastic bag ON THEIR SIDES! Looked great when it got home --not really For comparison, go to Towson Diner (Greek owned) and buy their pita platter for $15.99. Great gyro , delicious and large Greek salad and great fries. Not a fan of Greek food - only because I have rarely had Greek food. But there is a new resturant in Columbia, MD called Thh Big Greek Cafe and we decided to give it a try. I got a Gyro (lamb) and it was huge and VERY tasty. My husband got the Spanakopta and was also very impressed. We will be going back!! Recommend you give it a try. read more
