This shopping center is near where I live. It is currently undergoing much renovations. Many…read morebusinesses have come and gone but it does have some perks going for it. Giant Eagle sits on the grounds of a former K-Mart. It is not an overly large store but provides for my weekly shopping needs. Directly across from it is a Getgo with a kiosk for small purchases and payments. Off to the corner is Ryan Automotive, home of Goodyear tires and car repairs. Some of the ongoing tenants include "eye guys" a vision store, Rite Aid, Gentry cleaners, Busy Beaver off to one corner, a bowling alley, three different banks, Save a lot grocery, and a great breakfast/lunch spot called Hanlon's cafe (reviewed separately). Hess Physical therapy stands in place of a former Payless shoe store. There is also a Dollar tree and a small gym called Wright's. Check out their website for complete store listing. There is plenty of parking spaces. Around the perimeter you will find Walgreen's, CVS, Crafton ice cream shop (open seasonally) and a post office. You are also close to both Crafton and Ingram Park and the adjoining West Bus way stop. There is a lot of turnover in this mall. It sometimes gets difficult to maneuver because to enter a particular store you need to walk the appropriate ramp. I like having three banks within the immediate vicinity and having convenience nearby. Since it is an old shopping center be aware of safety concerns. Hopefully the renovations once completed may attract more visitors to the community.

Westmoreland Mall is a two-story indoor mall that contains roughly 150 businesses. It has some…read morevacant space, but it is mostly occupied with businesses and is definitely NOT a dying mall. The anchor stores are JCPenney, Macy's, and Dick's Sporting Goods. The many other stores in the mall offer a decent variety of clothing, shoes, accessories, home decor, cosmetics, electronics, toys, and more. Restaurants include a mixture of local and national: Applebee's, Charley's Philly Steaks, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Chuck E. Cheese's, Edo Hibachi Steakhouse, HoneyBaked Ham, Longhorn Steakhouse, Mangia, Panda 8, Panera Bread, Pita Paul's Gyros, Sbarro, Stir Fry 88, etc. The mall also contains Live! Casino and an AMC movie theater. For years, I have shopped occasionally at this mall. The building is maintained, clean, and safe, and it has plenty of parking spaces outside. Not all of my favorite stores are here, but I always find at least some nice things to buy. My favorite stores here include Aerie, American Eagle Outfitters, Hallmark, LOFT, and The Sweet Bone Bakery.

With so many dead and dying malls in the area, it is nice to see that Westmoreland Mall seems to be…read moreon a growth trajectory. Yes, there are some empty storefronts, but there are also exciting and fun new additions coming (like Dicks House of Sports). Aside from the standard retail giants, this location has some fun local options. They have a branch of Greenhouse Winery where you can sample wines and purchase by the bottle or glass and a new spirits store that carries a variety of tequilas and serves several different margaritas. The most unique feature is that there is a casino and events space that is a part of the mall. So there really is a little bit of everything. The mall has a small(ish) food court, but it is nice that there are those options. They seem to be doing a great job with maintenance as the escalators and elevators always seem to be in working order and the space is always bright and clean. They also don't seem to have the loitering problem other malls seem to have. There is plenty of parking all around the space and the parking lot is well maintained. If you want a mall experience that doesn't feel dead and dreadful, this is a great one to visit!

Food you have Chick Fil A (with a very efficient drive through system), Red Robin, Bob Evans, Chilis, Panera, Coldstone Creamery and more! For retail, there are giants like Walmart, Five Below, Ross but there are also smaller (but still chain) businesses like Lane Bryant, Game Stop, Rally House and Carters. There are several businesses that are in a "loop" in that there are blockages to getting onto the main "road" of the plaza. But, overall, the parking lots are well maintained and well marked. The one down side is that because it is so large, it can be hard to navigate. If you are looking for a specific business, GPS might take you to the vicinity and not the actual business.

As of the time of this review, stores include Walmart, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Petco, Ross Dress for Less, Five Below, GameStop, Lane Bryant, General Nutrition Centers, Oshkosh B'gosh, Sally Beauty Supply, GameStop, Visionworks, Plato's Closet, Lane Bryant, and T-Mobile. Restaurants include Dunkin', Chick-fil-A, Red Robin, Arby's, Bob Evans, Chili's, Panera Bread, Starbucks, etcetera. I recently shopped at some of the stores. I easily found parking spaces for my vehicle near the stores, and I liked the stores' selection of merchandise. I think that this shopping center is a very good one for people who live nearby.

Village Square Mall is a somewhat small strip mall in Bethel Park…read more Currently, its anchor tenants include Kohl's, Home Depot, Michael's, Office Depot, and Bob's Discount Furniture, and other tenants include Half Price Books, Famous Footwear, Fine Wine & Good Spirits, Olive Garden, etcetera. This strip mall is along a high-traffic road in a fairly well-to-do area, so it is easy to get to and does not seem to have much crime. I occasionally shop at Village Square Mall. Most recently, I shopped in several of its retail stores. I felt happy with the availability of parking spaces in the free lot and with the selection and prices of merchandise in the stores. My favorite stores here are the Kohl's and the Fine Wine & Good Spirits. I think that this strip mall is for people who either live in the area or who are passing through while visiting other businesses nearby.

There are even fitness related businesses (pilates and barre). The parking, though, seems to have been designed to support a lot less traffic than what comes through the plaza. It is always a mad house and a dash to find parking spaces. And you feel like you are putting your life at risk if you try to cross the parking lot on foot. It has gotten a little better since the opened the space between McDonalds and the plaza (easier access to the traffic signals to get to 22). But it is hard to get into and out of, especially if you need to make a left.

During my visit, I thought that the buildings were in good condition and that the parking lot had many available spaces for my vehicle. I could not shop for clothing, shoes, or accessories here, but I did shop for household goods at the Dollar Tree, and my husband browsed in the comic store. Overall, this shopping center is an asset to the community of West View, but I would not recommend that out-of-town people make a trip to shop here.

They even have a really nice farmer's market weekly starting in May. There are so many nice vendors that come weekly. You can get anything from vegetables to meals to lite bites and dessert. They also usually have at least 1-3 food trucks outside too. We also like going to the stores there too. There are so many nice places to buy discount clothes. Paris Baguette is my favorite place there. They have the best pastries. We love the monthly special, chocolate croissants, mochi donuts and sandwiches. The cakes are so moist and delicious. They also have lots of nIce events for kids and families like a safety event and gingerbread houses at Christmas.

I most frequently visit this mall for the Target and the Kuhn's, which sell a good selection of products for hygiene, cleaning, home, groceries, etcetera at reasonable prices. I have always been able to find a good parking spot in the parking lot. The mall is safe and clean. The mall is located along the busy McKnight Road for easy access.

North Hills Village is a retail complex on the McKnight Road corridor. At one time it was an…read moreoutdoor mall and along with Northway Mall an extremely busy shopping center. It was enclosed a number of years ago and did okay as a mall until the mid-1980s. When Ross Park Mall opened up, it sucked all the business away from North Hills Village and Northway. Northway became a second-tier mall and North Hills Village became a big box center. North Hills Village now has Best Buy, Target, Staples, etc. From a dollars and cents point of view, it was probably a wise decision to go big box. But North Hills Village is just like any other big box center found from Seattle to Miami.
