I was alarmed at how many under age kids were in the mall unsupervised. The security was standing in a large group talking, one man in a yellow vest was running around working while the others stood around. These kids were wearing backpacks on a Saturday, which seems suspicious to me in a mall. This last month has been filled with violence from kids in large unsupervised groups and I did not appreciate that the mall, which has high end stores with over the top prices, allows children of all ages to wander around for house, buying nothing. This is the first time I have experienced this. I will not be going back to the mall, especially during the summer. read more

Took a ride over to one of the few classic malls in OKC. I realized it was a few days before Christmas but didn't expect such a crowd. The roads are really hectic getting into the parking lot. I came in from the east but there are plenty of other options. One note the side street lights getting back on to the main drag are really short so be paying attn for light runners. Once inside there were lots of shoppers. Some stores really busy some not. Big complaint today is 2 of the 3 main down escalators were not working causing quite a line going down especially for the handicapped folks. Lots of store selections, eating places, theatre and stores. read more

Was there this morning to pick up some deals at VS and BBW. We were in MiniSo soon after arriving and less than 30 seconds of being inside the shop, this unusual sounding alarm went off. We couldn't make out what the message was but the store sales assistant was quick to react. She told everyone that it was required that we evacuate from the building. We calmly but briskly walked out following the crowd. The announcement continued but the husband and I still couldn't understand what was being said. A good 5 minutes later someone came out of another exit close by and told the crowd "someone overcooked the pretzel in the store". This mall is way better than Quail Springs, no doubt but it has it's faults. Sometimes it will be SUPER crowded and overhwhelming to get in and out and it's causing problems! They have a lot of stores, but they are all wildly overpriced. I don't really buy stuff unless it's on sale. If you can afford it go for it. Would not recommend for the law abiding citizen. This mall used to be a great place. Clean and orderly. Recently I returned and found it overrun by troublemakers and thugs. Just this weekend chaos played out in the food court between groups of "upstanding citizens." The cherry on top of my visit was the police dog alerting on me for lawfully carrying my concealed firearm, and I was asked by security to return it to my vehicle if I wanted to continue to shop. I complied and returned inside only to be approached and further questioned by a group of sheriffs deputies for allegedly blowing off the female mall security guard because I didn't give a straight answer on if I was armed or not. I simply told her, "I'll understand and remedy the situation." Which I immediately did. Given the obvious decline in the sort of patronage an upstanding business would desire, of course I am going to carry my firearm to protect my family, whom I was with. We are, after all, living in the United States of America. Again the mall was overrun with troublemakers and thugs, but they want to worry about ME(properly dressed, minding my own business, making purchases, escorting my mother, spouse, and infant child)? The owners of the mall, Simon Property Group, have an anti-firearm policy on their properties, but it's up to the men of each of our households to protect our family. This is my favorite mall, and I usually enjoy visiting. However, I really dislike pushy vendors. There have been times when random kiosk vendors stopped me to try their facial peeling gel. I said no a few times, but they were very insistent. Also, there are no refunds? It would be nice if there was relaxing music playing to make shopping more enjoyable (just a suggestion). Aside from that, it's a great mall, and I like going to Starbucks, Chuck's Arcade, and shopping for clothes. read more

Just went for a piddling day. During day, parking is great. You just have to remember where you parked ! Love to shop Penny's but usually shop one in Moore. I wanted to go to Macy's for the Toys r us. I did find Frisbees marked down. One that lights up in colors and then a small Micky Mouse one . Thinking great for taking my grandsons to Sissortail Park. I always love a bargain. Thought the department would be larger. I really miss the old Toys R Us. Another good store is the Lego one. Don't expect to find any real bargains. I totally forgot to see if they have a Hallmark. Mostly I just walked around but took the time to get a Lemonade and sit awhile to people watch. I did notice security when I walked in. I felt a female officer watching me as I was leaving the concession area. Wondered why since I had my two bags tied at top, looped around my hand. Then I thought and laughed......I'm a older woman shopping by herself, limping from a bad knee! Guessing that was really nice of her due to most were all younger shoppers. This mall is nice and quite large. First off... if you're not from the area and familiar with the layout, drop a pin where you parked or entered the mall. Ha! We have limited shopping in Alaska and it's always nice to hit up a large mall with a lot of options. Both my husband and I travel to OKC a few times a year for work and Penn Mall is a great stop after work or on the weekend. Basic mall food options with dine in restaurants surrounding, department stores and a little bit of everything for for just about anyone. read more

Ah...the heyday of mall. There used to be 3 malls in Oklahoma City: Crossroads, Penn Square, and Quail Spring. Crossroads has been long gone but Penn Square still survives because it's still reliable. I find myself coming back for the different services provided by this mall. In the beginning because of Express as it is the only clothing store that has my clothing size which is extra slim extra small. Thank goodness, I no longer wear that size as COVID has caused to me gain weight. I no longer shop at Express hallelujah but I still come back for Brows and More. This place has the best eyebrow threading and the brows look even at the end. A few other unfortunate stores that are no longer there: Goldiva and Nobili Tea. read more

I've been coming to Penn Square Mall for years. They've always had the most up to date stores, food options, plenty of parking. They have the usually food court-Asian options, Paciugo, chick fil a, subway, Starbucks. They have a Cheesecake Factory and Whiskey Cake in the parking lot, and a Texas de Brazil attached. Options, but some have a long wait, so plan ahead. The mall has plenty of kiosk stores selling everything from shoe shine to shirts to fidget toys. Your main stores are Dillards, Macy's, JC Penney. They have recently opened a Mathis Sleep Studio. You can find James Avery, Coach, Gap, multiple jewelry stores, a sports store, a few locally owned stores with Oklahoma merchandise. It does seem like the mall has suffered effects of covid...some stores are closing, the nation store chains are closing. I guess a sign of the times. But, you can still probably find what are needing. read more

I feel like this mall used to be nice and fun. There are just so many empty stores now that it's kind of depressing. Sure they still have the fun stores like Spencer's Gifts, but the lack of options is sad. Forever 21 is fun to shop in, but I still feel like some of their items are overpriced, even when being on sale. Everyone I saw that worked there was wearing their mask in the stores so that made me feel safer. I'm glad to see most stores have an areas at the front of the store to make sure you are wearing a mask and have hand sanitizer for the customers. read more

If I could, I would give this mall a 0 star..... normally I don't bring my dog, but this morning we had a vet appointment and I needed to run in for a few returns. Because it's so hot outside and I live an hour away, there was no way I was going to leave my cute poor dog out in the car? I was in there not even an hour. And at the END of our visit. I was already OUTSIDE sitting on the bench waiting for my ride. And this old grumpy security rent-a-cop had the audacity to FOLLOW me outside just to inform me that my dog wasn't allowed to come in the mall anymore. His excuse was that he was not properly trained?! I Informed the security guard that he was a certified REGISTERED SERVICE ANIMAL & obedience trained 27lb miniature golden doodle and he had nothing to say.... To my response he simply said.... Average mall with mid-scale stores, lacks well-known designers, no real boutiques. I guess I was spoiled living in the OC. Penn Square is a little dated, but not distractingly so, and I do like the spacious, open, clean feel of the main level, plus the mall isn't too crowded (though I have yet to go at Christmas). It's a decent place to come if you already have something in mind to buy, but there really isn't much draw or interest here beyond people watching. The food selection is on the dismal side, both the surrounding restaurants and the food court. But for the area, it fits. One disturbing thing, ran into a group of youth in the parking lot wearing obvious red gang colors. Should I be worried? Violence has upticked here recently. This will be a short review as most places inside can reviewed on their own pages so with just the mall itself..it's a nice mall to come to shop. This is where my husband gets his eyes checked, we go to the AMC theater and also shop around. I personally like the little shops in the aisles of the mall, they change out sometimes and during Christmas it seems that there's so much more to look at. The parking lot is huge and wraps all the way around the mall though it's usually extremely full most of the time there's not too much parking places up close unless you hit a good time of day or you just get lucky. Inside, there's plenty of shops and restaurants. Steps, an escalator or elevator will get you to the second floor for even more shops. The food court and theatre is on the second floor along with Lens Crafters where we go. If you need cases or anything for your phone, those are everywhere in the aisles at kiosks or stores. Sometimes we just come to walk around and get exercise while looking...it almost seems impossible for us to come out without buying something in there. read more

Penn Square Mall is large with lots of shops. Hubby and I love to walk after dinner and found this mall to be a perfect walking spot. We parked in front of JCPenny, but found out that the store closed at 8p despite the rest of the mall staying open. We ended up having to walk around the outside of the mall, which included walking on the street with no sidewalk. Pro tip, park in the parking garage, which is at the mall entrance and not a store entrance. read more

Penn Square is our go-to mall when we need to hit several stores in a day. You can pretty much find whatever you need. The mall is typically very busy, especially on weekends because there are not a lot of choices for malls in OKC. The parking can also be an issue, particularly around the holidays. You can add about an hour to your trip just trying to get out of the parking lot, which is why we avoid the mall during the Christmas season. read more

I've been to this mall so many times (as it is the closest mall to me) that it's hard to review it. I don't like malls in general, so take all of this with a grain of salt, but Penn Square is a nice enough place. I've been to malls with more stores, more eating options, and with better layouts and amenities, but Penn Square has pretty much anything you could need from a mall. I reviewed the movie theater separately, although that certainly factors in since I gave it 4 stars and it's probably my favorite in OKC. Otherwise, the mall has lots of parking, Santa stops by, there's an Apple store, your standard selection of huge department stores, and other, more specific clothing stores. The food court is a little disappointing - but about par for the course for this size of a mall. I usually go to the Pepperoni Grill instead of eating at the food court, and the PG is consistently tasty. read more

This place my last hope to even remotely like OKC but it failed to impress lol. Walking in, there was barely any people which was cool but as I started walking through the mall, I quickly saw why. Many of the stores were closed (it wasn't even near closing team) and some were even out of business. The only store I went to was pink store and this was the only lively store. They had good customer service, had about 3 people check in with me several times. Everything was very organized and you are able to see every size they have. Other than that, this place is pretty shitty. However, I don't know where else to go to since the other malls that came up around the area were just as bad with reviews. read more

This mall is a good mix of basic, middle priced stores that you see at basically every mall. Sometimes the parking lot gets RIDICULOUSLY crowded, but the inside of the mall doesn't feel packed, which is nice. -1 star for the HORRIBLE smell downstairs. It literally smelled like a sewer. Penn Square is a pretty decent mall. I prefer Quail Springs in terms of crowds (they're a lot smaller there!), but overall, Penn Square meets a lot of needs. They have a good selection of mid-range and higher-end stores (though I wish they had a Nordstroms). There is a decent food court, though every time I've been near it, it has been an absolute mob scene. It's clean and I've never felt unsafe, though I have seen some teenagers causing the typical teen trouble. So if that bothers you, maybe avoid the evenings. They're not rude or dangerous though, just loud. read more
