The staff has obviously been updated since the nasty 2014 reviews; we had super friendly and fast service. The best part about it is the food is so fresh you can taste the difference. The service is always great. It's better than the one in Champagin. The food tastes much better than the one in Champagin. The restaurant is always clean. As clean as you can get for a busy restaurant. The floors and the doors of the restrooms are the only dirty things. It is impossible to clean the floors the way they need cleaned without bringing in heavy-duty scrubbers. The kitchen is clean. You will see the worker's washing thir hands. Yes, I know it's the most expensive sandwich shop in town. Use thir website and get the coupons. It is the best sandwich shop anywhere around. read more

Been here a couple times and i think it isn't as bad as the rating "says". I prefer their italian more than subway's. Theirs tasted so much fresher and meaty. It is definitely much more expensive than subway but hey, you get what you pay for. Which is good right? And tuesday is cookie day. You get a cookie for dining in. Lastly, staff here are nice and courteous. Sit down and relax. They even bring your sandwich to you if you order dine in. read more

I have eaten here twice in the last 5 years. The first time was fine, nothing really memorable except how pricey their subs were for what you got. The second time was much worse. I came for lunch on my break, shortly after 1pm. It wasn't busy by far but, it took a while for someone to come take my order and even longer to get my order. I only ordered a sandwich (cold sandwich), no side no drink. It took over 10 minutes to receive. Manager walked past me 3 times and the other employees were doing other things (talking to each other, cleaning, etc) instead of making my sandwich. Never again will i go there. This is my first time reviewing ever, but felt obligated to due to experience I just had here. This was definitely the worst service I've ever had at ANY Penn Station. First off, all three staff members were unfriendly at best, and pretty rude to say the least. Also, I received my to go meal last out of the three people that came in & ordered after me, I assume because they screwed up the first sandwich. Then I went to pay at the register and there was a young girl standing there. She punched a few things on the register screen & then looked up at me say, "I'm actually on break now so I'll let the other person know you're up here". She proceeded to walk around looking for her co-worker for 3 - 4 minutes, and then decided to come back to the register & ring me up when she should have done that right off the bat. Lastly, none of the 3 workers said hi, bye, thank you, or "sorry for the wait". The young girl said "you're welcome" one time after I said thank you to her, but those were the only polite words I heard from all 3 of them the entire time. And to think these are the type of food industry workers who are demanding $15.00/hr!!!! You are probably getting paid EXACTLY what you're worth, at least that how it looks on my side. (I don't mean that last comment to be for all fast food workers, just these particular ones) Bottom line: don't eat here unless you don't mind rude service! If you do eat here & you get the same kind of service as I did, please make sure you point it out to the manager or even better - call the following day & talk to the manager that has more pull about it. read more

I am a huge fan of Penn Station. Until Danville, I have only been to Michigan locations. The service I received from two employees was less than sub-par. I had a coupon in my email, for that location, for a free 6" sub with purchase for signing up for emails. I presented this coupon at the register after ordering two 6" subs, with the email zoomed in on the code (the ONLY thing employees need to apply this coupon) for the employee's ease. The girl stared at it for a moment then said she needed a manager. An older lady came up and told me, in a very condescending tone, that the coupon could not be accepted and had to be printed. This is not true. Never once have I, or anyone I have heard of, had to PRINT a coupon for Penn Station for it to be accepted. I have had employees point out to me that all they need is the code included in the coupon. I explained this to the manager/older employee and she rudely brushed me off and denied the coupon. Another employee overheard this and mouthed an APOLOGY to me that this woman was giving me such a hard time! I will never return to this location and after reading the other reviews of it I'm sure this lady was among the "rude employees" others have encountered. read more

I really don't know what to say about this place. It's not what I was hoping for at all! So, in fairness, my rating is partially based on expectations and partially based on reality. (I'll update my review if applicable in the future.) First off, sandwiches are toasted, not what I expected. That part is done well enough I suppose. The bread was tasty, it seemed like it had some kind of asiago-baked-in thing going on. The ham was not ham. My son's first response was "they put bacon on my sandwich." It definitely had a different look, texture, fat content, and mouth feel than normal ham. It wasn't bad (but again, not what my family and I were expecting). Veggies seemed fresh enough and the overall flavor profile was good. The fresh lemonade was great. They had generous portion sizes for a higher than expected cost. (My family's sit-down meal at El Toro cost less, including tip.) I can't comment on the service or cleanliness, as I didn't visit the store, but I heard no specific complaints. Overall, I think I would give it another go, when I'm in the mood for toasted, but not in the mood for a sub. read more
