She still managed to communicate to me that they were having a 50 percent off sale on furniture and clothes were buy one get one free. They had a small selection of furniture, home goods, toys, art, small appliances, books, clothing, and accessories. It is tight in here but it is worth the time to really look around. You may find a treasure or two among the fairly priced items. Instead of adding to the landfills consider shopping and donating here. You can save money and give new life to gently used items.

The seed for Habitat for Humanity was planted at a community farm outside of Americus, Georgia by…read morefarmer and biblical scholar Clarence Jordan. Jordan along with Habitat founders Millard and Linda Fuller developed the concept of partnership housing. Those in need of shelter would work side by side with volunteers to build affordable homes at no profit. House payments would be combined with no interest loans provided by supporters which would then be used to build more homes. In 1973, the Fullers took their house building concept to Zaire where they worked for three years. When they returned to the United States they founded Habitat for Humanity International in 1976. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn became involved and raised awareness. Habitat is now in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. They have helped 29 million to be able to afford safe shelter. In 1991 Habitat for Humanity launched the concept of the ReStore in Winnipeg, Canada. In 1992 the first Habitat for Humanity restore opened in the U.S. in Austin Texas. The ReStores accept donations from the community and home improvement stores and then resells the items to the public at a discounted price. The profit from the ReStore supports the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. I discovered this Habitat for Humanity Restore around the corner from where I had lunch. Compared to other restores I have visited, this store was cleaner, neater, and had more items. Several rooms were filled with furniture, clothing, accessories, home goods, decorative items, large and small appliances, toys, lamps, books, baskets, and linens. I was tempted by a $6 instant pot. On the day I visited they were having an additional 20 percent off pink tags. This is a great store to thrift, especially if you are setting up your first home. Shopping and donating to Habitat for Humanity really helps people in need.

They do only have men's clothing and it is a little pricey but they have a ton of name brands. A lot of the stuff there is almost brand new and they have many different options. They have dress shoes, not many sneakers, many dress shirts and suit jackets, and tons of khakis and dress shorts. Their inventory changes a lot so if you do not find your size you can just come back another time. We come every time we are in town and almost always find hidden gems, we always find almost brand new Tommy Bahama clothing and it is reasonably priced. Along with clothing they have a lot of novelty items and sometimes there are really cool things in there. If you collect novelty sports cards or music records, take the trip and you might find something great! Need nice clothes for your husband or if you are a collector I definitely recommend a trip if you enjoy thrift shops, it's one of my favorites!

Often, furniture/equipment is accompanied by a printed sheet showing the original specs of the item; what a nice touch! The turnover is on point, providing a new selection of items during most visits. Items are discounted by half after a certain date. The owners thought of everything, including a playroom for children to use while their parents shop. This in itself shows the care that has been put into this establishment. There is a rack of maternity clothing and a plethora of maternity items here. Before I became a mom, I didn't understand that a children's thrift shop might carry maternity items. I was still looking for that non-existent maternity thrift shop! I appreciate this rack for a number of reasons: most thrift stores don't sort out maternity clothing, which end up hidden amongst the racks of regular clothing; quality maternity clothing is not cheap, generally unstylish, and . . . used for such a short period of time! Besides clothing, furniture, baby and nursing equipment and maternity clothes, Forever Young features a room of books and toys. Children are not allowed to play in here (playing is for the play room!); thus- unlike at regular thrift shops- there are not children actively playing with a product you might want to purchase. Don't forget to grab a (complimentary) chocolate next to the cash register. What didn't they think of?!

Went back to pick it up and it was a completely different cabinet and color- something that you would buy at Hobby Lobby. When I spoke to the owner - she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Said she would order another one- I said at this point I didn't want the cabinet- as I drove 2 hours to pick it up. She said that she was ordering it anyway. I said that I would go to my credit card company to help resolve the issue. She texted and said if I did, I wouldn't get the cabinet or my money- that she had done this before and always won. When I disputed the charge- she lied and told the credit card company that I received the cabinet. I have spent thousands of dollars in her store over the last 5 years and will never shop there again and I tell everyone I know to steer clear. Still fighting the charge and will be going to small claims court.
