Pennies For Heaven is a thrift store founded in 1971 and operated by the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. The shop is run by friendly volunteers who raise money for the church by selling donated high end clothing and shoes, jewelry, accessories, men's clothing, household items, books, small appliances, golf equipment, books, children's clothing, and toys. The proceeds from all sales directly benefit the Mission and Ministry of Church of the Good Shepherd. They are a not-for-profit, so they do not charge sales tax. Pennies for Heaven is always having a sale. On the day I visited red tags were 50 percent off, red/yellow tags were 50 percent off, and blue tags were $1.00. The store is neatly organized and has interesting items at great prices. They accept donations of gently used items during our regular store hours. Furniture pickup is by appointment only.

They had a large selection of children's items which was great for me. Everything in the store was an additional 50 percent off. I was able to get two bags full of books, a twister game, stickers, balls for the treasure box, and some other assorted odds and ends for $3.50. The staff here was wonderful, so sweet and caring. If you are looking to score a deal, unload things you no longer need, and keep the planet healthy by recycling than come out and support St. Mark's.

We both shopped around, my husband went one way to look at things he was interested in, and I went a different way to explore the store. No one ever greeted or spoke to me. It was my first time in the store and they had lots of nice items. I did have questions about some items I wanted to purchase, but was never acknowledged the entire time. I walked through the store from the dishes, clothing, to the furniture side. One tall dark haired woman walked past me at least 4 times in the store but only spoke to my husband across the store a couple of times. I was very sad when I left the store. He told me so much about this store and I was excited to get there. Not sure what happened here, but I wonder if it was because we are an interracial couple that I was never acknowledged, but my husband was.

And some clothing, of course, and accessories. You have to wander around a bit to see everything as it's not grouped all together by categories. Some prices seemed a little high, but it is for a charity. They do offer sale discounts on different days on different items. And Wednesday is the senior day for 25% off. We did observe some local shoppers using a loyalty card as well. This card gives a discount to the users, but I'm not sure of the details. We didn't buy anything here when we visited, but as at all thrift stores the inventory changes often.

It is located across from Publix. I didn't see any spots to park by it, so you may need to park further up or find a public lot to park in. Spotted bags like the tote bag from the Chanel Surf collection and it was reasonably priced, apparel from different brands, and accessories. Prices varied on the items based on brand and condition. The gentleman behind the register was friendly, but let us shop on our own for the most part. I think his wife was working there too and she was helpful as well. She noted they do not have a dressing room, but said if you needed to try something on, you could go into the room with special occasion dresses and try things on, as there are no windows or areas where anyone outside the store could see you changing. I did try on a crop top, but wasn't sure about buying it, due to some small holes and I questioned if the brand noted on it really ever made something like that.
