They took lots of concern for her dignity and extra concern for the problems we brought up with her medications. It was another excellent experience for us. The ER nurse went above and beyond to check up on me as just a family member hanging around waiting to hear mom's status. She brought me anything I wanted to drink while mom was in Xray. And noting my concern she went up and peaked at the xrays to see if there was an "obvious break" In past years when I lost a job, Sparrow waived my Urgent Care bills completely. That was a huge help to me. The staff has never been anything less than professional toward my family members. One nurse on the sixth floor for mom's illness this past week spared my mom having to take a narcotic for pain(which she did not want to have to do) by just adjusting the way she was sitting on the bed so that her weight was off the bad hip. His name is Dan. Dan is a hero to me! Mom is recovering faster because the staff there kept the pain and anesthesia medications to a minimum. When someone is a nonagenarian it really makes a difference to keep the narcotics out of the system as much as possible.

I came in for an emergency and I left eight hours later with no answers. The doctors were empathetic and noted it was a scary event which was worth the ER visit, so I am curious why everyone but the doctor was quite awful.

First for a scheduled aneurysm flow diverter placement by Dr. Kreitel with one night in neuro ICU. Two months later for a brain bleed from a skiing accident when I stayed overnight in neuro ICU again. Excellent care again by ER staff and neuro ICU nurses. Two days later I stayed another night for a suspected brain rebleed... I don't know how ER staff handles the chaos. Nearby a man threatened 3 security guards & a nurse. They took care of it and In think maybe he was arrested, not sure. Anyway I share this because I was originally taken by ambulance to Bronson where they removed my C Collar, plopped me in a wheelchair where I couldn't hold my head up...and it turns out I sat there ignored with a subarachnoid hemorrhage...That was after I told them my helmet was cracked in 1/2, I was on blood thinners and needed a stat CT to rule out a bleed cuz I had brain surgery 2 months prior... Bronson ignored me so I had my son come get me, called Borgess neurosurgery who ordered a brain CT, then admitted to Borgess. At this point, I'm team Borgess all the way.

Once again Dr. Bogan always tries to fix the situation, but the staff should not be working in healthcare. Today, I will speak with a Lawyer and file charges against them because, why am I being targeted? Is it because of the color of my skin or it because of my weight. The nurses that worked the floor during my stay were extremely helpful and checked in often, helping us take care of the babies and brought in extra supplies to help with feeds & changes.
