#1....$14. Overpriced! Doesn't come with a drink btw. I literally had to ask for condiments & utensils.

Catfish, turnips, macaroni, hush puppies Also had funnel fries (not pictured) and my husband had their shrimp (not pictured).

Great tasting food. Friendly service (drive thru experience) and not too long of a wait. Everything was hot fresh and well seasoned.

Easy off I 55, a little harder to get back on, have to pull across 4 lanes. Pretty clean place that hooks onto an Exxon station. I don't know if a large order in progress when we entered, or if it was unusual, but we had to wait 5 minutes to place our order and a half hour to get our order. My shrimp Poboy was warm and okay, my fries were cold. My husband's catfish, hush puppies and cole slaw were okay. The cashier was nice enough, but completely unconcerned that 10 people were waiting for their orders and people were waiting for place their orders. If you want a less than 45 minute lunch, don't come here.

This restaurant is too inconsistent with quality of food and service. Burnt fried green tomatoes are becoming a common occurrence here.

Summary: - Food is delicious, lives up to the hype…read more - Service is great, food comes out promptly. - Cant beat the prices and portions. I have been waiting for years to check out GRIFFINS FISH HOUSE (if you've heard the commercials you know what I mean). Finally got an opportunity to check them out so I took a crew and sampled the menu. The WOBBLE WOBBLE burger is where the hype starts, but I'm going to let you down. I couldn't do it. She said it was a pound and a half, so I settled on the Wobble Burger, weighing in at only a pound. Typically what you see with a burger that size is a big thick patty. This can be troublesome at the larger sizes unless you have snakelike cranial kinesis. This is not a problem with the WOBBLE burger. The patty is thick, but wide. Even though they only cook to well done, the patty was still juicy and flavorful. Simply dressed with mayo, tomato and lettuce, it was overall a really excellent burger. You can get smaller sizes still, the Wobble Jr is one 12 oz and the Griffin burger is maybe 8 oz. They can suit your burger taste even if you aren't in the mood for too much food. The HEAVYWEIGHT PLATE is a steal. This is your traditional meat and two sides plate coming in at a surprisingly lightweight $5. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and it was a whole leg quarter on the plate. They have a limited side selection, but I did try fries, fried okra (a must!), field peas and lima beans. No complaints about any of the sides. The heavyweight plate may be one of the best lunch deals in town. Catfish. Y'all know I love my catfish and random places can be real hit or miss. This is good catfish. Fried just perfectly to a light golden, the catfish is flaky and buttery. Just the right crunch on the battering. Reasonable prices on that too - a 15 piece strip dinner with sides (enough to feed two) was right around $13. I'll upload a picture of the menu, but they also have coupons available which I didn't notice until too late. If you're hungry on a budget, Griffins will definitely set you straight.

I came in at almost 3pm on a Wednesday they weren't overly busy. The girl at the counter was nice…read morebut she could have been more informative. I told her I had never been there before and she showed me the menu. I order the wobble burger jr. with no lettuce, or tomatoes, she asked if I wanted cheese I said yes. The menu had the meal listed as 8.50 my receipt came back and I was charged over $11. Now that's a bit steep for a quarter pound burger. I read my receipt and I was charged $1.00 for cheese which I thought came with the burger since it's on the photo of the burger on the menu then another 50 cent for using my card. I don't have an issue with the extra charges I just wish I was informed about them before hand. The Burger was delicious, the fries seemed a little under cooked I'll just let them know to cook mines a little longer when I go back. I'm definitely taking my son one day!
