My son picked up take out from this restaurant for dinner. We are new to the area so we aren't really sure what is good to eat here in Mccomb. I saw the menu on yelp and decided to give it a try. The food was amazing. The southwest egg rolls were just a tad too soft for my liking, but I'm blaming it on sweating in the styrofoam box on the journey from restaurant to home. Flavor was perfect. The monster burrito was HUGE!! Enough to feed three people. I didn't eat any of it, but my son said it was amazing. The tortilla soup was perfect. Just the right amount of spices and the avocado had the perfect texture. My son said it looked really nice in the restaurant and the staff was very friendly. The food I ordered was not appealing and no flavor, when I requested something else they questioned me a few times as to why I explained it didn't taste very good.. Cute typical Mexican restaurant decor, crowded parking lot on Saturday night with a (loud) live musician on the patio. Our server Kevin was on it, very attentive and prompt. However, we were not given drink menus (beverages aren't listed on regular menu), so ordered basic items. Food was hot, plentiful and delicious. The only downer was the bill showing a glass of house Merlot at $9.99. I eat at Mexican restaurants in different Mississippi cities fairly regularly and have never been charged more than $6 for a glass of "house red wine." Just a warning: Buyer beware! read more

I came by this place to have a couple beers and some dinner last night. I sat at the bar, if you can call it that. No bartender. No beer on tap. Just a tv and no one to talk to. They had a waitress come by and serve the beers every so often. But the weirdest thing happened. I'm from Texas and we don't have Yuengling beer. I can only get it when I come out to the East. I asked for a Yuengling and they looked at me like a deer in the headlights. 3 different waitstaff had never heard of it. The funny thing is that they had it advertised in at least two different places (see pics). I pointed to the napkin holder and the ice tub and they said "oh, we don't have that". They are literally advertising it but they don't carry it. So weird. I ordered the Chipotle Alfredo Pasta. It was disappointing but edible. The salsa was great. The waitresses were very nice. I'm so glad our hotel staff recommended Tortilla Soup for dinner! Being a Monday night at 8pm, the restaurant was not busy. We seated our ourselves at the bar, and we presented with a menu and drink order. We ordered a Frozen House Margarita that had a lime flavor to it. Next time I'll switch back to my normal Top Shelf margaritas because I prefer the flavor. The Queso Fundido, with Chorizo, came out warm and the top of the cheese slightly browned. There were 3 flour tortillas to dip with. For the entree we went with shredded Chicken quesadilla. There was sour cream, guac, pico and shredded lettuce to go with it. Just as we finished our food, the restaurant owner came by and we talked with him for a bit. It really shows how much passion he has for serving quality food and listening to customers for new ideas. We will be going back for Taco Tuesday for sure before we head back to Florida! read more

Food and service were good. My companion and I both had an appetizer that was like a Mexican egg roll and we each had a burger (with pineapple!) because the Mexican entreès seemed too large. I'm not one to bash any business, especially one in my area, but last night's treatment warrants this post. Last night I went to Tortilla Soup Irresistible Mexican in McComb with my mom and LB. I ordered a frozen coronarita and it was really "soupy" so I asked the waitress if the frozen mix was running out. She was very kind and even agreed that it did not look right. She said she would let the bartender/owner know. He came to our table and told me that nothing was wrong with my drink and this was the way it was made. Before I could respond he literally walked off. Trying to brush that off, and over look his bad attitude, I tasted the drink for the first time. It was as nasty as it looked! I explained to our waitress that the drink was not for consumption. She was very understanding and told me that the she would let the owner/bartender know. The owner/bartender comes to our table and tells me that this was the way it was made and that whether I drank it or not I'd have to pay for it. I told him I wasn't paying for anything that I couldn't at least pretend to enjoy. I asked him if it was possible to just switch it out for something else. He then got loud with me and said not unless I wanted to be charged again. At this point I've gotten upset but still calm. I tell him the best for him to do is remove the item from my ticket. He tells me that he would remove it this time, but I was not allowed to order any drinks from the restaurant. Before storming off he told our waitress I was not to order any drinks from the bar. Mom pleaded with me to let it go and not address this guy any further. I did that for her. This type of customer service is absolutely unacceptable for anyone! I do not expect nor do I want any special treatment. However, I do expect respect and some civility, especially if I'm spending my money! read more

This was my favorite restaurant for a long time but it has gone downhill. I ordered Bang Bang Shrimp tacos and a side of Spanish rice, both of which were cold. There were literally two chopped up shrimp per taco, which I specifically asked them to make sure there were many shrimp. My mom ordered a taco salad which came out with nothing but lettuce, meat, and avocado. She had to ask for pico, sour cream, and jalapeños. SPICY STOP We had been driving for twelve hours straight and we needed a food break. We were on our way to New Orleans when we ended up here...eating Mexican food. Really?! I told my wife we can't stop for Mexican food because we were so close to having a NOLA po'boy sandwich. But I knew it was time for our pit stop and we pulled in here to reenergize. Overall our food and service was really good but there were a few things that were really bad. I'm just going to address the bad things first. When we walked in the restaurant, there was an over powering smell of cleaning solution. It was so strong I couldn't believe that people were actually eating inside. There is a good chance that everyone was totally high on chemicals. We immediately asked for a table outside. It was warm outside but at least we didn't have to smell the chemicals. On a positive note...there's no bacteria living inside of the restaurant. The other thing I hated is that all the dishes we were served on had cracks and chips in the plates. I understand the cost of replacing dishes but it was kind of ridiculous. I was a little nervous when I learned our waitress Carlie was serving food for the first time here. She was the bartender and didn't know the menu that well so management put her on the floor as a waitress for her to better understand the food. I'm glad she was honest at the beginning. I had a few questions about the menu and she went to the chef to find out the answers. I was really happy with how she handled herself. That is the sign of a good employee. She was honest, considerate and helpful. The prices of the kids meals were great. We were able to get a $4.99 meal with an enchilada rice and beans for the little one. My wife went with the three chicken enchilada meal with a choice of two sides. She chose the tortilla soup and the Mexican rice which ended up in front of the little one. Mom knows which foods are her favorites. I decided to go with the burrito supreme. It was deliciously seasoned ground beef topped with avocado, pico de galo, lettuce and cheese. Carlie brought me some verde salsa and Fiery red salsa on the side. As I was eating my burrito I noticed that it was missing the cheese and the pico. I decided not to say anything because I was half way through and it was still delicious with the missing items plus I hate sending back food. I can't stand food waste and I don't want the chefs special sauce bonus on a remade dish. I honestly am so surprised with this location on the side of the road. Typically roadside restaurants don't deliver but honestly the food was really good here. I would come back here again. In fact, we drove by in the early morning on our way back to Chicago and I joked we should stop again but with an eleven hour drive in front of us it was too soon to stop. Hopefully we will find ourselves on this road again and enjoy some yummy Mexican food on our way to NOLA. read more
