I only stayed here for one night, but I'd come back in a heartbeat! This little boutique hotel located on Front Street in Old City has all of the charm and history you could want. I thought the front desk staff and management were fantastic, the room was cozy, the old wood flooring throughout the rooms was well maintained and homey. The shower temperature and pressure were perfect. We didn't have the opportunity to check out happy hour at the wine bar, but it looked like a fantastic deal. The decor throughout the hotel was elegant and welcoming. We didn't bring a car, but I know they offer valet to a lot right beside the building. I can't wait to return.

Pleasant Hotel in a great location. Room was a bit small but other than that it was a good place. Close to restaurants and near parking lots. I would definitely recommend it to anyone:)

Great historic hotel in convenient location. The room was comfortable and clean. Check-in was easy, very personable and friendly. Had a wonderful conversation with Alex, the bartender, who took time to talk with us and personally invited us to return and stay at Penn's View on our next stay in Philadelphia. Which we most definitely will do!

I enjoyed my stay at Penn's hotel. Ayana went that extra step to get what I requested when I made the reservations on the phone, thank you plus she's sweet, polite and friendly, in fact all the stuff were friendly nice. The hotel is in a nice location, it's clean, bright, with some nice furniture. I had a nice queen size room, with a sweet sort of balcony, that was partly over looking the waterfront and part of the city. I know they have larger rooms and with fireplaces also here. Definitely try their upscale, delicious restaurant next door, with a great selections of wines. Otherwise you can walk to the many local ones. Plus if you like to walk, like I do, walk up Market Street from the hotel, just 30 minutes or so, for all historical landmarks, museums and much more. Next time I visit Philly, I'll be definitely staying here again but in one of your king-size rooms with a fireplace

Disgusting rooms + noisy highway + horrible service Had to checkout early. If you are traveling on business for a large convention conference, be careful as the hotels will all book up closer to the date and you will be stuck with a room at Penn's View Hotel should you need to cancel your reservation after checking if the rooms are clean in person. Not a fun night. Management offered me 4 different rooms which all had hair and/or red stains on the sheets (not sure what the red was...) and or pillows. I finally asked for some clean sheets, and they gave me sheets with dark stains on the pillow case and hair in the sheets... things took a turn for the worst when I tried pulling out towels to lay over the bed only to find a rotten smelling towel with stains on it.... Throughout the night, it was so incredibly loud from the traffic outside I had to stuff my ears with earplugs. then in the second night they claimed they "deep cleaned" my room and I came back to more hair on my bed and small stains on the towels... slightly cleaner towels than from the first night... To top it all off, I read reviews on here from 10 years ago that said the breakfast was good... nowadays the breakfast is only muffins and coffee. It's a shame

Stayed here for a quick visit to Philadelphia and it was close to a friends place. Pro: Good prices. Decent sized bar. Parking is located right next to hotel, in a separate lot. (paid lot) Room was average. Walking distance to Penn's Landing Not so Pro: Lobby area is small, one attendant. Elevator is small and slow. Staff uses it also, tight when you have to share with a cart. Bartender is slow and not prepared. Bathroom in room was small. All about the location.

She was social, hospitable and provided recommendations for different things in the city. The hotel is convenient to everything and very walkable. We had a time! The room is spacious enough for two people and has a modern decor. The decor throughout the hotel, however, is like an ode to hip hop culture. If you know me, I love sneakers, hip hop and everything that is the culture! The decor speaks specifically to Philly icons -- Will Smith, Meek Mill, The Roots, Jilly from Philly (Jill Scott), etc. Whoever was the interior decorator did a great job with honoring those icons and the hip hop scene. The restaurant inside the hotel was great too. I don't have any complaints besides the steep valet prices. I will visit again.

I was upgraded in advance without even asking, which immediately set the tone for a seamless, elevated stay. The moment I arrived, the front desk greeted me with a warm welcome and a genuine thank‑you for being a loyal Hilton guest. That small gesture goes a long way, and it made me feel valued right away. This hotel has a boutique vibe while still offering the consistency and reliability of the Hilton brand. There's no Diamond Lounge here, which is totally fine -- the property makes up for it with thoughtful touches, great service, and a fantastic location that puts you right in the heart of the city. Plus, the $15 food & beverage credit is a nice perk that I definitely put to good use. Overall, the Canopy Philadelphia blends style, comfort, and hospitality beautifully.

It was great for leftovers and enabled me to eat frequently, since I'm trying very hard to maintain my weight. Parking is on site but... our rental car was too tall to handle the 6'3" height limit. No problem, there are other lots in the area and I like to walk anyway. To Hilton's credit, they mention this on the hotel web site. What stood out was the cleanliness and the service. All was clean and ready for us. Plus, Rahkya behind the desk was very gracious and helpful. Gus the bellman was personable and helpful. Shawnette and Aaron in the breakfast buffet were friendly and helpful. Everyone we interacted with, including the staff at the onsite restaurant were friendly and professional. I wish I could say the same about Philly drivers. I've been driving around a lot and that hasn't been much fun. Almost nobody makes eye contact or makes room. I've seen worse in other cities but bring your A game if you plan to drive here, in these small historic streets. Life is good with a comfortable stay using points.

We were a party of 4 in two separate cars: one party paid for parking in advance as a 'ticket and parking' package. The other did not. We arrived about 11:30 am for a Sat matinee. Lot was rather full, but more, the spaces were very narrow, which seems to be the case more often. There are only two elevators, and they also are exceedingly small, holding 5-6 adults max-which is an issue when the shows end and everyone is queued up to leave. Our biggest issue was discovering that the prepaid parking expired at 4 pm. Since we were staying for a post ballet dinner, we asked and were told that we would simply need to pay for the 1 hour difference. If only it had been simple; but no. Besides the fact that the booth attendant had a friend inside chatting to the point that we needed to honk to get attended, the attendant had no idea what to do with a prepaid ticket holder who was attempting to leave past the allotted time. Their default was charge us $30 (the rate charged the car without the prepay), making it $30 for one hour. We declined to pay that as that was not the posted hourly rate...and had to sit for more than 15 min and only due to the exceedingly long trail of cars queued behind us did the attendant finally charge the posted hourly rate and allowed us to leave. Provide better training on what-if" scenarios, extend the parking package hours from 4 to 5 to accommodate meals. Do better.

We did advise the front desk of the issues, and they did attend to the bedding, but were unable to increase the temperature. (Note: We did ask other guests about this. Some said their room was "fine" temperature-wise, and others said their room was "hot.") The breakfast offered to all guests is basic: bagels, English muffins, hard-boiled eggs, juice, tea, and fresh fruit. Their coffee was delicious and an attendant was on top of the breakfast bar at all times. We thought the front desk and custodian did their best, considering the challenges. Nevertheless, the rooms weren't up to past standards. We're disappointed with our recent visit and hope standards improve.

The room was on the larger side of small, but everything felt dated: furnishings, curtains, headboard, phone, fixtures, linens, towels -- all very '90s, including the tub/shower combo. The carpet was dingy and it definitely needs a refresh (ask for slippers). Room service came in a bag instead of on a tray, which made eating for two a little awkward. We had our two small dogs with us, and while the hotel itself is very dog-friendly (which we appreciate -- it's why we usually choose Kimptons), the immediate area really isn't.
