A charming boutique hotel on a quiet street in the heart of Philly. It's a bit hard to spot so be sure you have the address and look for the gold plate on the heavy wooden door in the middle of the block next door to a restaurant. This former row house residence from the 1800s make for a cozy oasis of luxury just a couple of blocks from the Kimmel arts center. In fact that proximity was our original reason for choosing it along with the fact that we are more and more gravitating toward unique boutique style lodging as our travel increase. To enter you need to ring the bell and the owner, Victoria or her husband Ken will let you in and get you settled. They issue you a key to the front door and help get you settled. We stayed in room 3F up on the third floor. Be aware that you need to walk up several flights of stairs (no elevators in the 1800s) so pack light. Our room was perfect with a big comfy sleigh bed and totally updated bathroom with a luxurious rain shower head and top flight amenities. I believe the hotel is only a few years old and while the building and beautifully creaky floors remind you of its heritage, the rooms have all the modern conveniences. Ours even had a small wet bar, mini fridge, microwave and some wine glasses, plates and bowls. The only drawback is they don't have any parking of their own so you will have to use one of the many nearby garages (we paid $36/night). Highly Recommended.

This historic boutique hotel is a hidden gem just a few blocks from Rittenhouse square. It has just 11 rooms and the owners go out of their way to provide a great experience. Avoid the big high rise hotels for a unique experience. There are dozens of amazing restaurants within a few blocks and can actually have a great walk one way to the museums, another way to Independence Hall or down to the Italian market. Their beautiful parlor is a great place to visit with a few friends with coffee and tea available at all times or grab take out and sit in the gorgeous small dining area. Highly recommend!

Recently stayed the weekend @ the Dwight D and couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. If you are looking for a bed&breakfast vibe with access to all Philly neighborhoods and attractions, this is your place. Victoria, the owner, was attentive, helpful, energetic and accommodating. It was easy to arrange a late arrival and she even held our luggage on Sunday so we could explore the city before leaving. The building is pre-war/historic/Victorian with very updated amenities and decorating. We loved the soft robes and round stone floored shower. Our room had a balcony that overlooked a courtyard, which was an added bonus. Would recommend to anyone who wants to deviate from the sterile hotel experience. And you can't beat the Dwight Ds location! I hope to be back soon.

Awesome for a wide selection of lunch/dinner options. I also really liked how it's on a quieter street which makes pick ups and drop offs less chaotic. She was social, hospitable and provided recommendations for different things in the city. The hotel is convenient to everything and very walkable. We had a time! The room is spacious enough for two people and has a modern decor. The decor throughout the hotel, however, is like an ode to hip hop culture. If you know me, I love sneakers, hip hop and everything that is the culture! The decor speaks specifically to Philly icons -- Will Smith, Meek Mill, The Roots, Jilly from Philly (Jill Scott), etc. Whoever was the interior decorator did a great job with honoring those icons and the hip hop scene. The restaurant inside the hotel was great too. I don't have any complaints besides the steep valet prices. I will visit again.

Here, you'll find the lobby. Three staff were behind computers checking in guests. Only waiting two minutes, I was up and within minutes, I was in my room. The staff member helping me was delightful and speedy. 2) Rooms: My room on the fifth floor came with a kid bed. It was comfortable, and they left four pillows on it. The room came with a desk, a couch with a table, a TV, ample closet space, and a restroom with the shower separate from the toilet. They provide water bottles in the room. There's a fridge to cool them in. If you're like me, it may be hard to find the ironing board. Push open the mirror door by the closet. 3) Space: The hotel is modern, art-forward, and comes with a bar/restaurant, a little food market, an ATM, and 24/7 fitness center on the third floor. 4) Location: It's centrally located with many restaurants, shops, and bars nearby. Many of the tourist spots are close. If the weather is nice, walk a few blocks to Rittenhouse Square Park for live music and more.

To be fair, there was a pending snow storm over the weekend, so reservations were few, and it's 17 degrees outside. The first observations weren't good. The bedspread appeared not to have been washed, the sink leaked water and, worst of all, the room was cold. REALLY COLD, maybe 55 degrees. (I don't carry a thermometer.) We did advise the front desk of the issues, and they did attend to the bedding, but were unable to increase the temperature. (Note: We did ask other guests about this. Some said their room was "fine" temperature-wise, and others said their room was "hot.") The breakfast offered to all guests is basic: bagels, English muffins, hard-boiled eggs, juice, tea, and fresh fruit. Their coffee was delicious and an attendant was on top of the breakfast bar at all times. We thought the front desk and custodian did their best, considering the challenges. Nevertheless, the rooms weren't up to past standards. We're disappointed with our recent visit and hope standards improve.

It was pride weekend so super good vibes. Only issue we had during that stay was that the steam from the shower set a fire alarm off which scared the crap outta me. Pillows are so flat that stunk. Check out was easy peasy and we knew we would be back. My second stay was... ok at best.. when we checked in i asked if i could get wine glasses to the room since it was valentines day, they said it wouldn't be a problem but when i actually called to get them, they said they couldn't do that and it was kinda giving " we don't trust the young-ins with glass" , Bummer. There was construction happening next door so we were woken up 4-5 times by what sounded like a literal jackhammer around 3am. I get they cant help that but DAMN it was loud. the valet was so backed up since everyone checks out at the same time, and it took us 45 minutes to get our car. We waited in our room until the website said it was on the way but we sat in the lobby with our things for a while instead. This time we aren't so sure if we will return... It's good for the price. Room was clean, decent size, everything worked. The breakfast was just okay, not bad, not amazing... same with the amenities. It felt more like a crash pad than a vibe, but that's not a bad thing if you're just trying to keep it simple. Clean bathrooms, which I always appreciate. Elevator was a little slow, but nothing tragic. For the price, it does what it needs to do. Just don't expect any wow factor or luxury touches. I'd come back if I needed a no-stress base in Philly. After checking in and being sent to the 15th floor with my wheelchair bound mother, I found the shower was not the "roll-in" shower we were promised. After venturing back down to the first floor the front desk person on duty (who bless him tried to be helpful) wasn't aware of what rooms were available that could accommodate us. He eventually put us in a suite on the 7th floor. Sounds like an upgrade right? Nope. After getting mom settled, and letting her shower, I realized there was only one bed. There was also a sofa bed. Greaaaaat. The sofa itself was filthy (see photos), and the mattress itself (see photos) was worse. I also tried to get a cup to get water to give to my mom to take her medicines and the cup (see photos, admittedly hard to see) looked like it had water staining on it.
