Perhaps, the shortage of dermatologists at Jefferson that causes 5 month wait times (but, you can get on a waitlist, and there's oftentimes cancellations, which you can receive alerts from on Jefferson's app, "My Chart"- a one stop shop, and must download for any Jefferson Health patient) is accredited to the hiring team measuring all other dermatologists against Dr. Angles' extraordinary standard of knowledge, care, and experience? Dr. Angeles does not keep her patients waiting, because she's considerate. Her depth of knowledge, and experience aids her to ask pertinent questions, commencing with family history of skin cancer, so she has the comprehensive information to perform examinations, provide solutions, all to be cognizant of anything and everything that's within the best interest of her patients. Her examinations are thorough, attentive, and informational. As she looks over every millimeter of your skin, she'll identify any lesion, problematic or not, from head to toes; angiomas, scars, dermatitis, moles, ingrown hairs, etc. On the day of my appointment, Dr. Angeles had a resident with her, John Miller, a PA native, who first came into the room to speak with me. Remember his name, because, as someone who was pre-med, majored in biology, taught bio lab, etc, I had classes with hundreds of students that went to medical school, and can recognize someone with incredible talent, and that "it" factor that differentiates stars. John Miller has the tools, personality, and knowledge to flourish. He has qualities, both learned and innate, which elevate him over his peers." His poise, discerning questions, friendliness, sympathy, kindness, and truly genuine care for others is remarkable. He's going to be a phenomenal dermatologist, especially absorbing all that Dr. Angeles embodies; brilliant judgement is accurate, careful and detailed options provides clarity, and reliable treatment. Lastly, Dr. Angeles, was very attentive to my behavioral cues, a part of communication that few occupy, let alone perform with accuracy. As I stated, Dr. Angeles has a packed schedule, with many patients who need her time. Because she knew my history, and life, she ascertained from my mood, behavior, voice, answers provided, and photos/emails stored on my phone, that I required what I did not expect- immense generosity, compassionate, tenderness, warmth, and advice/direction that she knew I was aware of, but repeated, and accentuated, to instill the sense of urgency, timeliness, and importance that I afford others, but oftentimes to my detriment, or don't think of doing the same for myself. I am grateful that she's my doctor. I don't take her for granted, and I have the utmost respect for her as both a doctor, and a human being. After contacting Janice, because one of my specialist doctors didn't appear to be covered under Jefferson Health, she called me at least eight times to follow up, check for updates, make calls to the physician's office, all over 4 business days. My last call from Janice was on my ride to the doctor, to let me know she had spoken with the office, and ensured that my appointment was covered. To the Executives and Board Members of Jefferson Health, if Janice isn't highly promoted, add recognized each year, you're mashing a "big mistake. Big. Huge!" to quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. You have a rare commodity, with extreme value, character, and skills that cannot be taught. Since she's likely in a work for hire position, essentially, she's a free agent. Lock her down, and don't be shortsighted. To the other healthcare companies, let the poaching begin. I guarantee Janice is talent of star status.
