My mom moved into Oakmont of Montecito nearly a year ago while recovering from spinal surgery, and…read moreit turned out to be exactly the place she needed during that stage of her life. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel welcomed, cared for, and supported. One of the biggest benefits was having Amy and physical therapy services onsite. During her recovery, it was incredibly convenient and comforting for my mom to simply go downstairs to the gym and attend her routine therapy appointments without having to travel elsewhere. Amy was truly exceptional. She challenged and encouraged my mom every day, pushing her to work hard while always believing in her ability to recover. Her dedication, expertise, and unwavering support played a huge role in helping my mom regain her strength, confidence, and independence. I also want to recognize Lucy, who provided my mom with so much love, encouragement, and support throughout her stay. Lucy's kindness, patience, and genuine care meant the world to our family. She treated my mom with dignity and compassion and was always there with a smile, a helping hand, or words of encouragement when they were needed most. Another standout aspect of Oakmont of Montecito was the incredible activities program. Gianna does an amazing job creating opportunities for residents to stay active, engaged, and connected. From social events and outings to creative and wellness-focused activities, there was always something fun and meaningful happening. These activities not only kept my mom busy but also helped her build friendships and truly feel part of the community. The dining experience was another highlight. Lisa and the entire dining staff were wonderful, always providing exceptional service with kindness and genuine care. The food was consistently delicious, and the beautiful dining atmosphere made every meal feel special. Beyond the amenities and services, what truly makes Oakmont of Montecito stand out is the people. The residents quickly became friends, and those friendships brought so much joy and companionship to my mom. The warm, welcoming environment lifted her spirits, gave her a sense of belonging, and helped her thrive during her recovery. I would also like to recognize Arianna and Molly who helped me find an apartment for my mom in a time crunch.  The apartment was so lovely and clean - it helped my mom feel at home during her stay. Oakmont of Montecito was truly a blessing for our family. Not only did my mom receive the care she needed during a challenging recovery, but she also found a vibrant community, renewed confidence, and lifelong friendships. Thanks to the incredible staff and residents who surrounded her with support and encouragement, she is in a much better place today. We will always be grateful for the positive impact Oakmont of Montecito had on her life and our family. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the many other staff members whose names I may not have mentioned. Please know that your kindness, compassion, encouragement, and care did not go unnoticed. Every smile, conversation, helping hand, and act of support played a role in helping my mom heal, regain her confidence, and get to where she is today. While I may not remember everyone's name, I will never forget the impact you had on her life and on our family. For that, we will always be grateful.

We joined the list for prospective residents at The Glen at Heather Farms a couple of years ago…read more Since that time I've called their office on a few occasions and have always received prompt, courteous and straightforward answers to my questions. I attended a tour of the Pleasanton facility and besides being impressed with the facility itself, the presentation was excellent. My husband and I attended our "informational brunch" in November and again had a very positive experience. Lots of information, presented concisely and any and all questions were answered in a straightforward manner. There's nothing hard sell/ pushy about these presentations. Following that brunch we met with our residency counselor to figure out what next steps would best suit our situation. She has been excellent! Very patient in answering our questions, showing us the various unit floor plans and discussing our options. She's very knowledgeable about the entire process, of course, but she also understands that making the decision to move into this type of residence represents a significant change for most people and is both empathetic and encouraging. To summarize, our experience to date with The Glen at Heather Farms has been very positive.

We…read moreattended many of those early meetings very excited about the future prospect of this CCRC community. As time moved forward I became concerned about how this community was being advertised to the public, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). The concept is wonderful, but at one of the very large meetings a few years back, while people were asking about when they could pick out there houses etc., I was the only person who asked when the Wellness Center was going to be built which would included Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care. The answer I received was disappointing. Not until after residents moved into the community would the Wellness Center be built. My next question was to ask what would then happen if my spouse or myself needed the extra care a Continuing Care Retirement Community is suppose to provide for us, but is not available? Would one of us then have to find a place for that care outside of Glen at Heather Farms? And if so, how is Glen at Heather Farms a continuing care community if the Wellness Center is not on site yet? I had read that the Center would not be built until about 2 years after residents had moved into the community. Also, if as a couple one of you is in good health, while the other may have health issues, you will not be able to become a resident of Glen at Heather Farms as a couple. You must have a clean bill of health from your doctor. I know of one person who was interested in moving to Glen at Heather Farms with friends. Because that person had some health issues, he had to look elsewhere. Fortunately, he found another CCRC community in Walnut Creek close by and is thrilled being there. I also checked out this other community a number of years ago and they had no problem with residents with health issues moving in. Please have other options available to you, When your time comes to move you won't be disappointed if your health issues are a "no go" to becoming a resident at Glen at Heather Farms. I was looking for something smaller, more personal, and as close to a home-like environment as possible. What stood out to me right away was the ratio of caregivers to residents; 3 caregivers for about 12 residents, which creates a level of attention and care that is hard to find. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Connie, the executive director, is attentive, kind, and truly cares. We immediately felt comfortable there. I visited frequently, about five times a week, at different times of day, and consistently experienced the same level of care. The staff was attentive, supportive, and genuinely present. I always felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. The food was also very good, which mattered a lot, as he really enjoyed his meals. I would especially like to recognize Miguel from the memory care unit. His care and presence are truly exceptional. He has a natural gift for what he does: compassionate, professional, and deeply attentive. He truly stands out because he genuinely cares, and you can feel that in the way he shows up every day. I always felt I could rely on him completely, and his support made a meaningful difference. I'm truly grateful for the care and environment provided here.

Not sure why Connie emailed Grace to tell her to look at my review and Grace text me telling me…read morewhile you were on the phone with her. I actually left a good review for your place and was just saying what we have been dealing with. You told her i shouldn't have put what she has etc but this is not some hippa violation this is saying what we went through as a family with her. So I'm not sure what you were trying to do with emailing So far this place seems nice and the staff there seem nice too! My ex partners mother moved into the memory care unit here and was told they got her to shower! Which is amazing because she would get physical and argue with her daughter and I to not shower. She has a room by herself right now and they have her get up in the AM to sit in the living room with is great so she's around everyone and not isolated in the room. She never wanted to do anything we would try to get her to come out but she just wanted to sleep all day. So far she's played bingo, they got her to shower and change her clothes. She would get mad at us for having her change but I'm glad they got her to. She would pretend with us when she didn't want to do anything that she can't walk or she's weak but she's really strong she's climbed over a metal baby gate, pounded on windows and has left the house, police involved so it became harder for everyone to take care of her because she was always trying to leave the house and she has dementia. Here they said she was full of energy and danckg to music which is great because we could not get her to do anything! Right now she does not have a roommate, kinda afraid when she does get one how she will treat them but the staff there I'm sure is well trained to handle that. She speaks English but pretends to only speak Tagalog and they have Filipino caregivers there which is good because they speak Tagalog! She's made comments that she will run away but it's locked with a code so she's safe and can not leave. So far this place seems great. When she went to visit the brother in Texas he said the first week she did great and showered, ate etc with no issues and then it went downhill after that. Hopefully she continues to thrive here and I think the routine and activities are helping keep her busy. Her son Glen brought up some alarming stuff to Grace he said he found out from a while back but I'm sure they have fixed whatever issues and the staff seem caring and attentive. When we moved her in the staff were friendly and caring. Much better than the place in Castro valley that Eden hospital sent my mom to for rehabilitation. ( they almost killed my mom) To the staff here just becareful because she has been violent and is smarter than what she makes herself seem and we've seen here watching when they put the code in the door! She's mentioned she's going to run away too. It's a good thing Gloria is there because Grace looses patience fast with her mother and the people there are better trained to handle her Just be careful too because she will say she's being abused and scream for help. She did that and thankfully neighbors saw but staff should be aware I couldn't say anything when Connie came because her daughter told me they will deal with it if it happens there but that's something you guys should know too!
