It probably deserves higher stars but the description "Meh. I've experienced better" is about right in my opinion.
I LOVED the ideas that they had of an open fire, a snack trailer, the horse-drawn carriage, etc.
However I HATED the idea that each tree was priced individually and you couldn't pick any tree you wanted, they had to be tagged. Also, I get the whole lore of the horse & carriage/wagon thing, but it'd be soooo much easier if we could just drive our vehicle where we wanted like other tree farms allow. The horse dropped us off at the front of the farm and by the time we found our tree, we had walked around the ENTIRE place, where normally we could have driven. Not a big deal for us, but if you have little ones or have trouble getting around, be aware you're going to have to walk.
My husband and I came out here to get a tree for ourself and a small (as in Charlie Brown - small) one for my mother. Unlike other tree farms who price by the type of tree it is, this place prices by the height. But there's a catch. If your tree is under a certain height, they won't let you cut it down cause "it needs to grow more" Yeah, just so they can charge you more.
So we found our tree. A 7ft for 44 dollars (which is decent, competitive pricing, but keep in mind it goes up by the foot, ALOT). But my mom asked for something like a 3ft tree. She's old, and can't decorate a full tree so she places this little one on her table and leaves it at that. However, because it was deemed "too short" and therefore, not tagged, we couldn't cut it down or bring her a tree. Now I definitely understand the whole idea of "let trees grow for next year". I really do. But SO MANY of their bigger, full grown trees were extremely sparse on the bottom and through the middle. You almost HAVE to get a smaller one in order to have a nice, full tree, but again, you can't. It's a tough situation. We walked away that day with a much smaller tree than we normally get (due to the pricing), and no tree for my mom.
So overall, I would come back here if every other Christmas tree farm was sold out/picked over. The atmosphere was nice, but the pricing/way they sell their trees was ridiculous. I wouldn't need to come back here. If you enjoy walking, money isn't an issue, and you want a tall, sparse tree, come here. If not, meh. read more
