What's THAT place?! It was a big white colonial style building and it was pretty. What else would a good friend do? She turned the car around. She said she would probably pay $5 more by going here, but she wanted me to see it. We pulled into the massive parking lot and drove to the corner where a little bird was taking a bath in a puddle. We got out and the bird was completely unphased. This was his safe place. A floral mecca if you will. We walked past statues and fountains to reach the entrance. There were large carts, baby carts, and wheelchairs available at the entrance. I wandered in and encountered sticker shock. Amy wasn't kidding. Everything was about double what you would find everywhere else. There were quite a few half off sales though, bringing it down to a normal price. Here's the thing though- it's like the difference between a Gucci watch and a Timex. Both are going to do the job, but the Gucci is just more elegant. These plants were lush. They were diverse too. And this place was mammoth. I did not make it through the entire store. It vascillated between indoors and outdoors and stretched back to parts unknown, at least by me. Luckily I found a place to sit so I didn't need to grab a wheelchair. A bunch of patio tables and benches were stationed at the front next to the firewood. I enjoyed the breeze while Amy stood in line. She was right. She paid more. The young guy who rang her up asked if she would like a bag for each one. We missed over that since the bags were smaller than the tomato cages. She said no. We jaunted to the car, loaded up the trunk and much to our dismay our little bathing bird was gone.

Closing at 7 makes them almost impossible to go to after work. Such a stupid time to close.read more

(still waiting on refund) wanted to sell me something else. 2 others said they did not carry the item even though the websites said they did. And then came Daniel at Dynamic Flowers!! He also said they did not carry the item and suggested Trader Joes. I do not live in Michigan, so that was not an option. Daniel said he would go purchase one for me then pretty it up some and deliver it for me. He quoted me a price that was cheaper then the refund i am waiting on. I had merely planned to pick out something ready made and ask for a ribbon that said "Loving Papa" because it was the 11th hour. The people there were SO nice. They told me they could make him a spray, no problem, whatever I wanted, and it would be delivered that night. They were kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. They gave their condolences for my grandpa's passing. I left feeling so good that I would have a beautiful spray to honor my grandfather. This place was the best. The store is full of eclectic and vibrant decor that will speak to the hearts of artists everywhere, ranging from clothing, to furniture, to toys and museum quality gifts. You could picture the decor in your own home. "Buy local" is the intention here and deteriorating properties were bought up by the owner and given a stunning facelift to elevate the community. This was a closed down roller rink. There was also a cinema next door that turned to a gift shop and off beat eatery. The unique history of each is preserved in the original artifacts throughout. Being that this is art focused and unique, don't have the expectation of Walmart prices. Of course you're getting one-of-a-kind quality pieces that will make your heart sing when you see your selected art displayed proudly in your home. The product selection is also much varied than the big box in what you come to get. Having 2 entrances , 1 off of Maple using the bank entrance and directly off Orchard Lake to the big parking lot. While it is not the biggest of the chain, it is not the smallest either. Will be back when I need any plants or decor.
