The rental was in place for a 15 foot U-Haul, to be picked up at 9am on March 19th at the Victorville location. We were promised that the 15 footer was going to be there. I had called 12:02pm, and was on hold for over 14 minutes. When the woman had picked up, I had asked if it was okay that we could pick up the 15 footer at 7am instead of 9am, she insisted that it would be fine and ready. That phone call lasted 16 minutes. When my husband and I showed up to the Victorville location at 7am Thursday, the 15 footer was not even on the lot. The gentleman told my husband that it wasn't a "guarantee" and just a curiosity. We spent OVER AN HOUR at this location redoing the reservation to a 10 footer. Instead of offering us a free upgrade for their mistake, they only gave us a $30 difference for a smaller U-Haul. Upon receiving the keys for this rental, my husband walked the lot 6 times trying to find the van with no luck. He went inside twice only to be told the van was on the lot. He then had to physically move a U-Haul out of the way HIMSELF, to get to the one we rented. That is absolutely ridiculously!!! The gentleman should have brought the van to us, if not he should have moved the other himself to get to ours. On our way, the tire pressure sensor broke, and there was oil leaking from the U-Haul. This in turn stained two driveways that we were utilizing at both residences, which we should receive some sort of compensation for. U-Haul needs to do better when it comes to inspecting their vehicles, because I can almost guarantee that it was leaking oil beforehand, and their customer service needs to be trained better. Instead of lying to us all, they should have be honest and said that size vehicle would NOT be available to pick up at this location. With our two parties involved in this rental, we will no longer use U-Haul for any of our future moves and will continue to tell everyone our experience and to steer clear of U-haul. Making another edit. After some back and forth, Edwin was able to make it right and refund the amount that was charged without consent. Thank you for making it right and I added one more star to this review. I hope this is a learning lesson in making sure you are clear with your customers, and make sure they understand everything.

I made the mistake of renting a truck here twice. Both times they did not have the truck I had…read morereserved well in advance. Both times they were not only apathetic, but unreservedly rude. Both times they were unwilling to assist me with getting a substitute truck rental or process a refund. Disorganized, abysmal customer service, and now months after the reservation they refused to honor I am still fighting unauthorized charges they made to my credit card. Do yourself a huge favor and get a rental somewhere else. The second time this happened I called U-Hall and they were able to get me in a better truck than the one I reserved with Budget, for a lower price, within 20 minutes.

Until I had realized I had left my jacket in the U-Haul somewhere, after I had left the location, asked the front desk if they had it. They confirmed and said that they would hold it in the office. When I arrived 2.5 hours before closing, the doors were locked, the lights were off, and my jacket was in a cleaning carts trash bag. That the employees used. (Also directly in front of a camera) It was disappointing considering how nice the front office lady was. Hauling Heroes really came through for me this past Saturday. We had to clean out my grandma's old…read morehouse so it could close escrow. The city trash contractor was going to charge an exorbitant amount to drop off a larger dumpster that would require a 3 month rental, but it would also take up to 4 weeks for them to drop it off. I called up Hauling Heroes and they were able to drop off a larger dump trailer than the trash container was going to be. They were able to squeeze it into a close space on the driveway next to the garage so we wouldn't have to move all the trash too far. They were also punctual about picking up the trailer as soon as I texted them that we were finished with it. What would've taken over a month to accomplish through the city's trash provider took only two hours on a Saturday. Also, had I had to run all that trash to the dump myself it would've taken me at least 6-7 trips in my pickup truck. Well worth my time and money. Being in the High Desert, it's nice dealing with a company where you know your trash is going to end up at the correct landfill and not down some vacant dirt road on the outskirts of town.
