She was extremely patient and worked with us as we went back and forth trying to make decisions throughout the months leading up to August. She responded quickly to all our questions and always had a bright and positive attitude, which we really appreciated during that time. Jamie was even able to allow us to come the day before to decorate since there were no events going on. Working with Jamie made the venue that much more special to us! The venue itself is beautiful. All the photos came out stunning and beautiful. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour downstairs in Kitchen Chicago and dinner upstairs. Both areas are beautiful and very photogenic. The view of the city from the upstairs windows is breathtaking and a perfect backdrop for photos. The food was amazing as well. Our friends still talk about how the food was so delicious and a few of our friends have even tried to recreate the salad. The cake was done by Sophie at Vanille. She was amazing to work with as well. We walked into our consultation completely clueless and Sophie guided us to our dream cake! It was beautiful! Overall we're so happy we went with City View Lofts! We appreciated the professionalism and positive attitude of every staff and vendor that served us. It was not the wedding we originally envisioned when we booked the venue last year (pre-pandemic), but it was better than we could have imagined and turned out to be a memorable day we will never forget. We're so grateful to CVL, all of their staff, and the owners for working with us and being flexible during the pandemic to make this all possible and done safely. We've heard so many awful stories of friends being swindled out of their deposits and/or being strong-armed by the venues they've booked with. If you're cautious about booking with a vendor due to trust, please know that Jamie and CVL will take care of you and will work with you as they've done with us.

You have to be careful parking on the street and make sure that you're not parking where you shouldn't be because some of the lines are not very obvious. The actual show itself in the venue was done very well. It has kind of like an industrial look, and the place itself is very clean. It was a lot of vendors, but still kind of intimate at the same time. Well organized.

It was the third venue we toured and the moment we stepped in, we had that "this is it" feeling. We didn't bother touring any other venues after we visited Mae District for the first time. We absolutely loved the three different spaces at the venue, which helped the day flow easily, moving from the ceremony space to cocktail hour to dinner. The second floor space was an incredible bonus. The bridal suite was big and made getting ready so comfortable, and the extra huge open space gave our families room to hang out before the ceremony as well as a space to take photos. Our point of contact, Hanna Roberts, was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was quick to respond to emails, patiently answered all our questions, and even sent us swatches when we were torn between two table runner options. We also really wanted a boba bar for our wedding, and they delivered! We were able to create a custom sign for the boba bar, which was a huge hit with our guests. On top of that, having Food for Thought as the in-house caterer meant we could fully customize our menu to fit what we wanted. Our tasting was such a fun experience and our final menu, which included caviar, a beet and burrata salad, and more was just about as good as you can ask for at a wedding. The staff on the day of our wedding were great. Attentive, kind, and kept the drinks flowinggg! We were shuttled here from the wedding hotel. The building is cool because it's historic - built in 1936. However, repurposed into an event venue, the interior spaces feel a bit more generic and industrial (typical). The spaces were decorated beautifully for this event. Cocktail hour took place in the Lobby and adjacent Mercer room. There were two bars - one in the Lobby and one in Mercer - and hors d'oeuvres. I don't know how many guests there were, but it was crowded and tight, especially in the Lobby. Dinner (self-serve buffets), dancing, and dessert took place in the Packard room. Again, pretty standard space repurposed for events. Decor, sound, lighting, food, and drink (more bars) were all great. There was even a liquid nitrogen ice cream station. To cool off during the reception (dancing), we went outside to the adjacent Cadillac Courtyard. Restrooms are located in the basement. They were spacious, clean, and even stylish.

This was a formal affair and the address threw me off as I couldn't picture where this venue would be located. As I started driving down a gravel road to avoid the long line to get into the lot, I was even more skeptical as I felt like I was driving down a southern backroad with all the dust that was kicking up. After tipping down the grey gravel road, I entered the venue. This space is huge and truly amazing, very open and inviting. I imagine the décor is designed based on the event., but for this event, it was well laid out with *gasp* plenty of seating to allow you to eat, drink and be merry. The theme of this year's gala was Green Eggs and Glam, so it was Dr. Seuss whimsical. All the decorations suggested you were in one of the books. There were even the Things running around...Thing 3 was there, so guessing Things 1 and 2 were on vacation. The Grinch also stopped by and paid us a visit and the Cat in the Hat and his Missus were there as well. There were quite a few people at the event, but it never felt crowed. There was a full-size bar as well as a full-size stage. The Geraghty went all out for this event and I have to say that they hit the mark. From the food stations, standing bars, the very comfortable seating areas with sofas and tables...amazing arrangements. Don't let the location or gravel road put you off. This is an excellent venue to host an event.
